  • Patent number: 12167423
Abstract: User equipment devices (UEs) may receive multimedia broadcast and multicast service (MBMS) transmissions over a bandwidth part (BWP) specifically allocated for MBMS point-to-multipoint (PTM) transmissions, or over MBMS-specific resources configured for PTM transmissions within a UE-dedicated BWP. The network (e.g. base station) may configure the MBMS-specific BWP for the UE for the PTM transmissions per serving cell. The MBMS-specific BWP may be used for downlink transmissions, and may be cell specific or UE specific per serving cell. The base station may provide MBMS PTM scheduling information per BWP to the UE, may indicate whether a UE-dedicated BWP may be used for PTM scheduling and transmission, and may provide the corresponding scheduling configuration when applicable. The UE may communicate its various capabilities related to MBMS reception and simultaneous reception of PTM and point-to-point (PTP) transmissions to the base station to aid the base station in scheduling communications of the UE.

  • Patent number: 12155520
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may receive a set of demodulation reference signals (DMRSs) over a multi-path channel on a set of resources in accordance with a reference signal pattern. The reference signal pattern may be associated with a non-uniform frequency spacing that results in a row-sampled Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) matrix associated with the reference signal pattern having a lower coherence than other row-sampled DFT matrices. Additionally or alternatively, the device may receive a set of tracking reference signals (TRSs) over the multi-path channel. The set of TRSs may be specific to wide-area terrestrial broadcast services, single frequency network (SFN)-based broadcast services, multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMSs), or the reference signal pattern. The device may perform channel estimation based on receiving one or both of the set of DMRSs or the set of TRSs over the multi-path channel.

  • Patent number: 12149923
Abstract: One way to increase robustness against beam pair link failure is by transmitting downlink (DL) control signaling (e.g., PDCCH) in more than one beam. That is, one way to mitigate BPLF is for the UE to receive DL control signaling over both a first BPL (e.g., active BPL) and a second BPL (e.g., monitored BPL) but with larger duty cycle for the second BPL compared to the first BPL. For example, the control signaling can be scheduled every slot on the first BPL and scheduled every Nth slot on the second BPL. In this way, in case the first BPL is blocked and the UE cannot decode the control signaling on the first BPL, the UE can receive control signaling transmitted on the second BPL.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for implementing request to send (RTS) and clear to transmit (CTS) frames and transmission rules for the RTS and CTS frame. For example, some aspects relate to an electronic device including a transceiver and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The one or more processors receive, using the transceiver, a request to send (RTS) frame from the second electronic device and determine, using the received RTS frame, a format for a clear to send (CTS) frame to use in response to the RTS frame. The one or more processors further transmit, using the transceiver, the CTS frame based on the determined format on at least one sub-channel on which the RTS frame was received and that the at least one sub-channel is idle.

  • Patent number: 12089194
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for selecting network parameters based on feedback in a wireless network. An access point (AP) may collect feedback information from a plurality of stations (STAs). The AP may broadcast out queries seeking information to the STAs. The AP may collect statistics about network parameters preferred by the STAs. The AP may select a network parameter based at least in part on collecting the statistics. The AP may collect the statistics without identifying the individual STAs that are responding. The AP may gather responses using a two-message system, where a first message informs the STAs about the feedback being requested and a second message requests that the STAs transmit the feedback to the AP.

  • Patent number: 12088514
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to efficiently exchanging data in power-limited wideband communications. A base station and a UE transmit data using sub-band position modulation (SBPM), in which a select subset of frequency sub-bands carry the data transmission. At a given interval of the streamed data portion, a new subset of the sub-bands may be selected as the active sub-bands, thus modulating the active sub-band positions during the data transmission. A receiver monitors for the data transmission signal and detects the sub-bands on/off state in order to receive the data within the active sub-bands. The entities exchange no control information indicating which sub-bands a given transmission uses. Further, SBPM includes pattern recognition by both devices in order to convey additional information each interval by selecting the positions of the active sub-bands to match the pattern associated with the information to be conveyed.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for tracking network traffic for local area network (LAN) subnets in a wireless wide area network (WWAN). In some implementations, a UE of the WWAN may assign a unique public IP address to each router of the LAN. The UE may transmit network traffic received from the LAN to the WWAN. The network traffic originating from any router of the LAN may be associated with the unique public IP address that was assigned to that router. The WWAN may use the unique public IP addresses to generate network traffic information that may indicate amounts of network traffic flowing from each router of the LAN. The WWAN, for example, may use the network traffic information to determine billing information for any router in the LAN.
