  • Patent number: 7894379
Abstract: A key recognition method and a key recognition system are applied to a wireless bridging apparatus and a terminal apparatus with a wireless communication function. When a user uses the wireless bridging apparatus at a first time, the user cannot connect the wireless bridging apparatus to a wireless network through the terminal apparatus until key verification between the terminal apparatus and the wireless bridging apparatus has been conducted and passed. The key recognition method includes the steps of: transmitting, by the wireless bridging apparatus, an original code to the terminal apparatus; encoding, by the terminal apparatus, the original code to obtain a transformed code; encoding, by the terminal apparatus, the original code and the transformed code to obtain a recognition code; and transmitting, by the terminal apparatus, the recognition code to the wireless bridging apparatus for verification and communication establishment.

  • Patent number: 7864742
Abstract: A wireless access point and multiple wireless terminals exchange utilization, status, mobility and reception characteristics. Each wireless terminal generates reception characteristics based on transmissions received from the wireless access point and from other devices in the network. In one operating mode, the characteristics gathered by the wireless devices are forwarded to the wireless access point, and, based on all received characteristics, the wireless access point selects its own transmission power for different types of the transmission. In another mode, all characteristics are exchanged between every wireless terminal and the access point so that each can independently or cooperatively make transmission power control decisions. In a further mode, the wireless access point adjusts protocol parameters based on an assessment of the characteristics received from the client devices, to detect an event such as a hidden terminal condition.

  • Patent number: 7688796
Abstract: A wireless communication method and apparatus for decoding enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) absolute grant channel (E-AGCH) transmissions are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives E-AGCH data which includes a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) part and a data part. The CRC part is masked with a WTRU identity (ID) at a Node-B. The CRC part and the data part are demultiplexed and the CRC part is demasked with the WTRU ID. A CRC is then performed with the demasked CRC part. If the CRC passes the data part is sent to an enhanced uplink medium access control (MAC-e) entity. The WTRU ID may be a primary E-DCH radio network temporary identity (E-RNTI) or a secondary E-RNTI. When the E-AGCH data is transmitted over a 10 ms frame, if the CRC fails, E-AGCH data via subsequent subframe may be soft combined with the previous E-AGCH data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for informing changed link properties in a system in which a mobile node is communicating by IP (Internet Protocol) with a correspondent node and utilizing a first link layer configuration. A need to change link layer communication to use a second link layer configuration is detected. Property information indicating a link layer property applied or to be applied in communication utilizing the second link layer configuration is defined. The property information is transmitted to the correspondent node. At least one setting for communication between the correspondent node and the mobile node is adapted in the correspondent node on the basis of the received property information.

Abstract: In a handover method, a mobile node receives a Layer 2 trigger message; requests information on Layer 3 of a new access router (NAR) from a previous access router (PAR) by using information included in the Layer 2 trigger message and information on an IP address of the NAR and a new Care of Address (NCoA) to be used when moving to the NAR; and performs registration with a Home Agent (HA) of the mobile node and sending binding update to an associated correspondence node by using the NCoA when a Layer 2 handover is occurred. With this configuration, the present invention provides a handover method automatically creating an address using a MAC (Medical access control) address in the mobile IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6).

Abstract: The invention relates to a detection of a simultaneous occurrence of an event of a predetermined kind at a plurality of electronic devices. At least two devices detect the event and record at their end the time elapsing after this detection. Then, a communication channel is established between the devices. Once the communication channel has been established, an indication of the recorded elapsed times can be exchanged. At least one of the devices compares a recorded elapsed time with an indicated elapsed time received from another device. If both elapsed times are similar to each other, it can be assumed that the event occurred simultaneously at both devices. The invention relates equally to corresponding devices, to a corresponding data transfer system and to corresponding software program products.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a scheme is provided for customization of a mobile communications device's data session retry mechanism in a wireless packet data service network. Upon detecting that a cause code has been returned by a node disposed in a wireless packet data service network, a structure is interrogated to determine if the cause code is mapped to a flag relating to the device's data session retry mechanism. Responsive to determining that the received cause code is mapped as a critical cause code, the data session retry mechanism of the mobile communications device is disabled so that further signaling messages towards the network are prevented.

Abstract: A power-down determination circuit calculates the horizontal frequency and vertical frequency, respectively, employing a clock signal obtained from a multiplier circuit and horizontal synchronization signal and vertical synchronization signal obtained from a TMDS decode circuit. The power-down determination circuit then determines whether an input digital signal does or does not have a decodable video format by comparing the calculated horizontal frequency and vertical frequency with horizontal frequencies and vertical frequencies stored beforehand, for output of a power-down control signal indicative of the determination. Thus, in the case where the input digital signal does not have a decodable format, the power-down control signal controls a video/audio processing circuit to enter a power-down mode.

Abstract: A router providing selective routing depending on traffic direction. The router includes two IP interfaces, where each IP interface is associated with a respective virtual private network. The router uses two forwarding tables. The first forwarding table routes traffic towards a first IP interface and a second forwarding table is capable of simultaneously routing traffic in the opposite direction, away from the first IP interface. The first IP interface is coupled to a first tunnel which provides bi-directional connectivity to mobile stations. The second IP interface is coupled to a second tunnel providing bi-directional connectivity to a corporate network. The router also includes a third interface which provides bi-directional connectivity to mobile stations. The router routes traffic through the second interface in the event that a mobile station on one interface is communicating with a mobile station on the third interface.
