  • Patent number: 9554300
Abstract: If a wireless device does not know how many data contexts can be supported, then the wireless device might attempt to establish more data contexts than are supported. Such attempt would normally be rejected. However, the signalling involved in the attempt to establish another data context and the rejection of that attempt is considered wasteful. Embodiments of the present disclosure allow such waste to be reduced or avoided by signalling to the wireless device when the maximum number of data contexts is reached or when it is about to be reached. Such signalling can occur before any attempt to establish more data contexts than are supported. Thus, wasteful signaling involved with attempting to establish more data contexts can be avoided.

Abstract: Methods and modules for spatial decorrelation and recorrelation are described. A block of data values can be spatially decorrelated in two dimensions efficiently by processing rows of the data values in a particular order such that if the results of spatially decorrelating a first row will be used for column-wise spatial decorrelation of a second row then the data values of the first row are processed in an earlier iteration to that in which the data values of the second row are processed. This allows for highly parallelised processing of the block of data values. Spatial recorrelation can be performed as an inverse process to the spatial decorrelation.

For example, a first indication that a first base station is reserving a first subset of a plurality of unlicensed frequency bands for downlink transmission can be transmitted over one or more interfaces between the first base station and one or more second base stations. One FEC technique for generating independently decodable resource blocks includes mapping locally decodable FEC codeblocks into unique resource blocks such that substantially all of the bits of the FEC codeblock are carried within a single resource block. Abstract: Embodiments relate to out-of-synchronization detection and out-of-order detection in a memory system. One aspect is a system that includes a plurality of channels, each providing communication with a memory buffer chip and a plurality of memory devices. A memory control unit is coupled to the plurality of channels. The memory control unit is configured to perform a method that includes receiving frames on two or more of the channels. The memory control unit identifies alignment logic input in each of the received frames and generates a summarized input to alignment logic for each of the channels of the received frames based on the alignment logic input. The memory control unit adjusts a timing alignment based on a skew value per channel. Each of the timing adjusted summarized inputs is compared. Based on a mismatch between at least two of the timing adjusted summarized inputs, a miscompare signal is asserted.

Abstract: Various embodiments relate to an in-band measurement of the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) of an optical signal in an optically-amplified transmission system. A demodulation device may tap a transmission fiber to receive an optical signal containing a low-frequency signal. A filter may implement first and second passbands to filter portions of an optical channel in the optical signal. Once the filtered channel is converted to first and second target electrical signals, a measurement circuit may take measurements of DC and AC components for each of the target electrical signals. Based on measurements of the two target electrical signals, the demodulation device may calculate the OSNR as a function of the DC and AC components, or as a function of the adjustment factors between first and second passbands of the optical channel represented by the first and second target electrical signals.

Successive channel estimates are determined (402) from received symbols for each finger and each carrier, and an estimated frequency error is determined (404) for each finger and each carrier. • Patent number: 9402235
Abstract: A base station servicing a cell of a cellular network provides power control of a cell independent of any other cell in the network. For downlink power control, the base station transmits information at its full power and applies a downlink power control factor to each downlink channel to equalize downlink throughputs of the mobile terminals in the cell. For uplink power control, the base station transmits instructions to have the uplink channel with the worst channel condition to transmit at its full power and the other uplink channels to transmit at that same full power. Each transmission is scaled by a corresponding uplink power control factor such that uplink throughputs for the mobile terminals in the cell are equalized. The base station applies an approximation of a rigorous capacity lower bound algorithm using propagation channel conditions and channel parameters to calculate the uplink and downlink power control factors.
