Abstract: One or more first padding bits are added to information bits to be included in a data portion of a data unit such that the information bits, after being encoded, fill one or more OFDM symbols up to a boundary within a last OFDM symbol. The information bits and the first padding bits are encoded to generate coded bits. After encoding, coded bits corresponding to the last OFDM symbol are padded, or constellation points generated based on the coded bits corresponding to the last OFDM symbol are padded, such that the padded coded bits or the padded constellation points occupy a remaining portion of the last OFDM symbol after the boundary. The last OFDM symbol of the data portion is generated to include the coded information bits corresponding to the last OFDM symbol, the first padding bits and second padding bits or padding constellation points added after encoding.

  • Patent number: 9301283
Abstract: A method and apparatus for accessing a contention-based uplink random access channel (RACH) in a single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) system are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) randomly selects a RACH subchannel and a signature among a plurality of available RACH subchannels and signatures. The WTRU transmits a preamble using the selected signature via the selected RACH subchannel at a predetermined or computed transmission power. A base station monitors the RACH to detect the preamble and sends an acquisition indicator (AI) to the WTRU when a signature is detected on the RACH. When receiving a positive acknowledgement, the WTRU sends a message part to the base station. If receiving a negative acknowledgement or no response, the WTRU retransmits the preamble.

Abstract: A method for transmitting channel quality information for a downlink channel. The method according to one embodiment includes receiving, by a User Equipment (UE), configuration information on periodic channel state information (CSI) reporting by higher layer signaling; and determining, by the UE, a channel quality information index at least based on a UE-specific reference signal overhead. The UE-specific reference signal overhead is determined according to a rank value. The method according to the one embodiment further includes transmitting the determined channel quality information index to a base station. The channel quality information index is determined further based on an assumption of no resource element allocated for a Channel Status Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS).

Abstract: The embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of wireless communications, and in particular to a method, system and device for triggering and performing spectrum sensing, used for solving the problem in the prior art that if the sensing period is set too long, a decline of service quality between an authorization system and a cognitive system or even a network paralysis will be caused due to interference; and if the sensing period is set too short, an increase in power consumption of devices and a waste of spectrum resources will be caused. The method for performing spectrum sensing in the embodiments of the present application includes: a sensing node judging whether or not the channel quality has declined to the requirement for performing in-band spectrum sensing; and after determining that the channel quality has declined to the requirement for performing in-band spectrum sensing, the sensing node performing in-band spectrum sensing.

  • Patent number: 9282449
Abstract: A wireless device that discovers other wireless devices for the formation of a peer-to-peer connection may perform a scan that is limited in duration and power consumption. The scan nonetheless is highly likely to discover a device, if a discoverable device exists. In addition, the scan may be performed in compliance with parameters of a peer-to-protocol such that the scan may be readily implemented in a wireless device, in some embodiments even as a firmware upgrade on a wireless network interface card. Parameters of the scan may be adjusted to increase the likelihood that, if the scan completes without discovering a device, no discoverable device exists. The scan may be used in an overall process in which discovery ends or the scan is selectively repeated following an unsuccessful scan, without entering a find phase.
