Multiple Access (e.g., Tdma) Patents (Class 370/347)
  • Patent number: 8515438
Abstract: A technique capable of improving the communication throughput while maintaining the interchangeability with a radio communication system or radio communication method employing carrier sense in a conventional multiple access system is disclosed and, on the basis of this technique, a radio communication terminal accommodating apparatus determines the allocation order of communication right permitting the occupation of a radio transmission medium with respect to each of a plurality of radio transmission terminals and transmits a multiple-polling signal 311 including information on this order to the plurality of radio communication terminals at an arbitrary transmission timing acquired through the carrier sense. Thus, each of communication right time periods (communication right time periods 312 to 314) for which the occupation of the radio transmission medium is permissible is allocated to each of the plurality of radio communication terminals.

  • Patent number: 8514752
Abstract: A radio transmitting apparatus and a radio transmitting method wherein the increase of the guard time in a random access region is reduced to secure the data transmitting region of an upstream line. In this apparatus, when a received signal power estimated by a received signal power estimating part (205) is the higher, a RACH format selecting part (206) selects a RACH format having the longer frame length. Contrarily, when a received signal power estimated by the received signal power estimating part (205) is the lower, the RACH format selecting part (206) selects a RACH format having the shorter frame length. A RACH data part arranging part (207) appropriately selects, in accordance with the selected RACH format, top-priority information, such as terminal identifiers, priority information, such as connection request information or band assignment request information, and non-priority information and arranges RACH data parts.

Abstract: Provided are a communication method and system for sensor network. In reporting event occurrence in a real-time sensor network application, a cycle time is divided into an event announcement period and a data transmission period to provide real-time transmission performance and energy efficiency. Each of the periods is again divided into the number of slots equal to the maximum depth of a network. Respective nodes sequentially operate according to their depths in a routing tree during the event announcement period to receive the signal transmitted from the lower node. To remove sleep delay, a slot next to the signal reception slot becomes a signal transmission slot. A node sensed an event transmits a signal informing event occurrence during its signal transmission slot, and this signal includes only the address of the transmission node. When a signal does not exist in the event announcement period, no traffic occurs in the data transmission period and the upper nodes maintain a sleep state.

Abstract: A technique for a time division multiplex system in which access to shared broadcast communication media is granted on a demand basis. Particular connections are assigned slot times at the transmitter based on demand. However, no specific information regarding the assignment of time slots need be communicated to the receivers. The transmit side employs a forward error correction technique followed by multiplication by a cover sequence unique to each connection. All receivers listen to the broadcast transmission channel all of the time. The receiver assigned to each connection decodes the signals in such a manner that only the receiver with the correct cover sequence assigned to a particular connection will successfully decode the data associated with that connection. Data frames that fail the forward error correction process are discarded, and only those frames which are successfully decoded are passed up to a higher layer.

Abstract: Concept for transmitting payload data from a transmitter to a receiver via a communication channel within a time interval, wherein channel-coded data packets are generated from the payload data, wherein each of the channel-coded data packets has packet core data corresponding to a packet identification of the respective channel-coded data packet, and wherein the packet core data is coded with a channel code of higher redundancy than the payload data. The channel-coded data packets are sent without any return channel to the receiver, which decodes packet core data of a first received channel-coded data packet of the time interval.
