  • Patent number: 10880145
Abstract: Enhanced discrete Fourier transform spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFT-s-OFDM) selects spreading code roll-off factors based on available spectrum resources in a wireless network and power efficiency needs of at least one wireless device. Excess spectral resources can be used to increase processing gain and reduce peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), both of which improve a wireless device's power efficiency. Each layer can employ a portion of the DFT-s-OFDM code space in an OFDM symbol for orthogonal multiple access or non-orthogonal multiple access, allowing multiple layers to share the same OFDM symbol. Both uplink and downlink transmissions can benefit from frequency diversity and low PAPR due to DFT-s-OFDM spreading. Since DFT-s-OFDM codes are cyclic shifts of each other, a DFT-s-OFDM discrete-time signal can be synthesized from cyclic shifts of a kernel discrete-time waveform.

  • Patent number: 10587501
Abstract: A network device establishes a depth-aware communication schedule for one or more nodes in a data network having a routing topology comprising a root node, the establishing including selecting from a slotframe of the depth-aware communication schedule a first subset of timeslots based on the depth, and allocating to each timeslot in the first subset an exclusive role (a transmit operation, a receive operation, or an idle state) for one or more of the nodes at the corresponding depth; the network device identifies one or more idle states in the depth-aware communication schedule, and selects a second subset of timeslots from the idle states as in-case-of-emergency timeslots, based on the network device identifying in the second subset a corresponding timeslot at a neighboring depth being allocated a corresponding transmit operation or receive operation; the network device causes selective transmission of a prioritized data packet in an allocated in-case-of-emergency timeslot.

  • Patent number: 10587373
Abstract: A method and system to help minimize communication latency. When data is to be transmitted from a transmitting entity to a receiving entity, the transmission will be scheduled to occur in a time interval that selected based on a consideration of the delay-sensitivity of the data and based on a HARQ delay associated with the selected time interval. For instance, if the data is particularly delay-sensitive, then the transmission could be scheduled to occur in a time interval that is selected based on the time interval having a relatively low associated HARQ delay, so as to help reduce the overall delay of the communication. Whereas, if the data is not particularly delay-sensitive, then the transmission could be scheduled to occur in a time interval that has a relatively high associated HARQ delay.

Abstract: A second communication device transmits information relating to a request for a first set of radio resources of a radio channel for a first data transmission to a third communication device. This information is received by a first communication device. In response thereto, the first communication device transmits an interference notification to the second communication device when the received information relating to a request for radio resources of the radio channel is determined to conflict with requested radio resources of the radio channel for a second data transmission to or from the first communication device. The second communication device receives an interference notification from the first communication device indicating that its transmitted information relating to a request for radio resources of the radio channel has been determined to conflict with requested radio resources of the radio channel for the second data transmission to or from the first communication device.

  • Patent number: 10548119
Abstract: In order to reduce the HS-SCCH overhead, a fixed time allocation approach could be used. In that case, the scheduling time of each VoIP user is semi-static and thus there is no need to transmit e.g. HS-SCCH toward the UE for the initial transmissions, if the UE knows when to receive data on the HS-DSCH and what transport format is used. There are at least two ways of implementing this: 1) HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH signalling to indicate parameters of a first transmission, with subsequent transmissions using the same parameters (and HS-SCCH/E-DPCCH always sent when changes needed), or 2) fixed allocation, RRC signalling used to allocate users and tell the default transport parameters.

Abstract: In general, techniques are described for remotely monitoring, controlling, and/or adjusting configuration settings related to network access points located within a rental property. In some implementations, rental data that indicates a property that has been rented for a specified rental period is received. Sensor data collected by one or more sensors of the property during the specified rental period is obtained. A current occupancy of the property during the specified rental period is determined from the sensor data. Network data indicating network activity over a network access point of the property is obtained during the specified rental period. The network access point is configured during the specified rental period based at least on the network activity indicated by the network data and the current occupancy determined for the property from the sensor data.

  • Patent number: 10530420
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing scheduled communication between a primary network, such as a time synchronized channel hopping (“TSCH”) network, and a secondary network, such as a carrier sense multiple access (“CSMA”) network. During a first selected slot-offset in a TSCH hopping pattern, a gateway node communicates with a primary network node. During a second selected slot-offset in the TSCH hopping pattern, the gateway node communicates with a secondary network node. A communication schedule identifies the source and destination nodes and channel frequency for each slot-offset. The communication schedule is set such that the CSMA wake-up period for the secondary network is synchronized with the second slot-offset in the TSCH hopping pattern.

  • Patent number: 10448425
Abstract: Diverse traffic types can be efficiently communicated in a simultaneous manner by dynamically selecting between contention-based and scheduling-based media access control (MAC) communication schemes. Such a mechanism may be particularly beneficial in networks having a contention-based access resources and scheduling based access resources. Contention-based resources and scheduling based resources may occur over a common period, and may be orthogonal in the frequency domain and/or in the code domain. The dynamic selection may be based on a traffic characteristic or a network characteristic, and may be performed on a packet-by-packet basis. The selection criteria may be updated dynamically to adapt to changing network conditions, and may be communicated to the various transmitters via control channels or higher layer signaling.
