  • Patent number: 11354733
Abstract: Systems for providing cross-relational matching functionality are provided. In some examples, a system may receive a request for a product which may be evaluated to determine whether a requesting user qualifies for the product. If so, the product may be approved and cross-relational matching functionality may be enabled. A plurality of eligible users may be identified. The plurality of eligible users may be identified as potentially interested in assisting in providing the product to the requesting user. Each eligible user of the plurality of eligible users may be evaluated (e.g., using machine learning) to determine whether the user matches one or more predetermined rules or qualifications as likely to be interested in providing the product. If so, the eligible user may be added to a subset of eligible users.

  • Patent number: 11095961
Abstract: Today's communications require an effective yet scalable way interconnection of data centers and warehouse scale computers (WSCs) whilst operators must provide a significant portion of data center and WSC applications free of charge to users and consumers. At present, data center operators face the requirement to meet exponentially increasing demand for bandwidth without dramatically increasing the cost and power of the infrastructure employed to satisfy this demand. Simultaneously, consumer expectations of download/upload speeds and latency in accessing content provide additional pressure. Accordingly, the inventors provide a number of optical switching fabrics which reduce the latency and microprocessor loading arising from the prior art Internet Protocol multicasting techniques.

Abstract: Examples relate to routing packets using distance classes in multidimensional networks. A packet is received at a network device in a fully connected multidimensional network and all possible candidate output ports for the packet to be routed to the destination network device are determined. The candidate output ports correspond to candidate minimal paths and candidate non-minimal paths between the network device and the destination network device along all remaining unaligned dimensions of the multidimensional network. An optimal output port among all the candidate output ports is selected and the packet is routed to a next hop in the network though the optimal output port and using a next distance class.

Abstract: An arbitration technique for determining mappings for a switch is described. During a given arbitration decision cycle, an arbitration mechanism maintains, until expiration, a set of mappings from a subset of the input ports to a subset of the output ports of the switch. This set of mappings was determined during an arbitration decision cycle up to K cycles preceding the given arbitration decision cycle. Because the set of mappings are maintained, it is easier for the arbitration mechanism to determine mappings from a remainder of the input ports to the remainder of the output ports without collisions.

Abstract: Techniques for enhancing throughput capacity and/or bandwidth distribution fairness among APs in a wireless network are described. Specifically, a channel frequency profile which includes a center frequency and channel-width (i.e., channel bandwidth) is dynamically assigned to each of one or more APs in a wireless network. The assigned channel frequency profile for each AP is based, at least in part, on the current composition of the wireless network including, its topology and traffic load distribution. In this regard, each AP's channel frequency profile can be continuously or periodically changed such that the entire available frequency spectrum is effectively utilized and/or interference between APs is avoided or limited. This, in turn, enhances the throughput capacity and/or bandwidth distribution fairness of the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 7447656
Abstract: A common forum for borrowing and lending includes a plurality of remote devices associated with respective potential counterparts, a communications network for permitting communication between the remote devices, and a central server computer. Each user enters preferences and data pertaining to what he or she would like to lend or borrow and under what conditions. The central server computer then uses the preferences of lending and borrowing data from each user to identify possible counterparts that might be mutually acceptable based on the preference information. Once a match occurs, the potential counterparts can negotiate through the central server to negotiate some or all terms. After the negotiation is complete, the forum will reveal the counterpart details to both the parties of contract for settlement.

  • Patent number: 7428236
Abstract: Architecture for a SONET network element. The architecture includes an interconnection system for a network element, including a line unit slot, a switch fabric slot, and service unit slots. The line unit slot is connected as a hub to the switch fabric slot and the service unit slots in a first star interconnection configuration. The switch fabric slot is connected as a hub to the line unit slot and the service unit slots in a second star interconnection configuration. The star interconnection configurations provide fault isolation between different units, and allow for replacement of failed units without interfering with the links of other units to the hub. A service unit is provided including a first backplane interface for connecting with an ATM star interconnect configuration within the network element, and a second backplane interface for connecting to an STM star interconnect configuration within the network element.

  • Publication number: 20080069132
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide an implementation defined segments (IDS) subsystem which allows new data segments to be added to an identity hub after deployment. A set of metadata tables are utilized to describe IDS, each of which is a data structure encapsulating a single row from a master data record residing in the identity hub. Once a segment (an object) is described, the identity hub can use the information to define persistent storage for the object in the database for any relational database management system, create internal structures to hold the data and process business rules and demographic comparisons against the data object, describe the data object to remote clients, and allow the clients to query the identity hub at runtime about what data objects exist, what fields and data types they contain, and additionally how they might be displayed or formatted on various clients.

  • Patent number: 7113505
Abstract: A synchronous cross-connect switch for routing data samples from a source node to a destination node comprises a mesh architecture including a plurality of inputs for receiving one or more of the data samples presented to the cross-connect switch. The mesh architecture includes a plurality of nodes operatively interconnected with one another using one or more half-duplex links. Each of the nodes further includes a receiver and a transmitter. Each node further includes an input time-slot-interchanger (TSI) operatively coupled to a first half-duplex link and to the receiver, the input TSI being configurable to selectively reorder one or more data samples received by the receiver, and an output TSI operatively coupled to a second half-duplex link and to the transmitter, the output TSI being configurable to selectively reorder one or more data samples to be transmitted by the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 7103059
Abstract: Modifications to the 2-stage interconnection to allow flexible scalability. Different switching fabrics having a range of different sizes can be constructed out of the same set of I/O switching nodes through this modified 2-statge interconnection, which can further be recursively invoked to construct large switching fabrics with desirable sizes. The recursive construction incorporating the modified 2-stage interconnection can seamlessly be realized through the five hierarchical levels of physical implementation, including inside-chip implementation, PCB implementation, orthogonal packaging, interface-board packaging and fiber-array packaging. The routability of the resulting switching fabric is always guaranteed and self-routing mechanism is also pertained.

  • Patent number: 7012895
Abstract: A mesh network for routing a plurality of data segments therethrough, each of the data segments containing address information. The network includes: a first, second, and third switch element each having a respective external input for routing data segments into the network and a respective external output for routing data segments out of the network; a bi-directional coupling between each of the switch elements; and a first controller for interrogating the address information of each of the data segments inbound into the first switch element. The exit pathway for any inbound data segment received by a switch element is selected according to the address information of that data segment, and if a contention exists for the exit pathway, further according to a priority designator of that data segment.

  • Patent number: 7012916
Abstract: Service resource items (49) for use in call setup in a telephone system are held on servers (58) that are connected to a computer network which is logically distinct from the telephone system infrastructure; this computer network may, for example, make use of the Internet. Each service resource item (49) is locatable on the network at a corresponding URI and is associated with a particular telephone number. A mapping is provided between telephone numbers and the URIs of associated service resource items. When it is desired to access a service resource item (49) associated with a particular telephone number, this mapping is used to retrieve the corresponding URI (step 55) which is then used to access the desired service resource item (56, 57, 59).
