Abstract: Techniques described herein may be used to solve a stochastic problem by dividing the stochastic problem into multiple fragments. In some cases, each fragment may be related to a random variable that forms a part of the problem, such that each fragment may produce samples from a probability distribution for that variable. Each fragment of the stochastic problem may then be assigned to a configurable circuit to solve the stochastic fragment. Configurable circuits may be implemented using any suitable combination of hardware and/or software, including using stochastic circuitry. In some embodiments, stochastic circuitry may include a stochastic tile and/or a stochastic memory.

In fixed bit width implementations of signal processing algorithms, saturation of a signal is an important operation when the output value of a processing step exceeds the number of bits available to represent it. Saturation may be required after each elementary signal processing step. Many signal processing algorithms are often implemented in hardware. Therefore, it is important to have an efficient method that utilizes least amount of hardware to implement the saturation operation. A method and apparatus are disclosed that implement saturation function using reduced hardware requirements and reduced power consumption.

Abstract: A packet gateway (PGW) receives a plurality of IP packet fragments from a network. The IP packet fragments comprise a head fragment and one or more trailing fragments, and are associated with a first IP packet. As the fragments are received, a controller at the PGW classifies the fragments. The controller applies a same selected service treatment to the head fragment and to each of the trailing fragments based on the classification of the head fragment. The PGW then sends each treated packet fragment to an end user device.

  • Patent number: 9215730
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for transmitting a PDCCH (physical downlink control channel) signal, when the number of available resource blocks of the downlink bandwidth in a radio frame is less than or equal to k, 2 symbols are fixedly used to transmit the physical downlink control channel, wherein k is a natural number. The present invention further provides another method for transmitting a PDCCH signal. In a TDD Long Term Evolution system, when the number of available resource blocks of the downlink bandwidth in a radio frame is less than or equal to k and the uplink/downlink switching period is 10 ms, the transmitting end selects 2, 3 or 4 symbols to transmit the PDCCH signal in subframe 6. With the transmission method of the PDCCH signal provided in the present invention, the utilization efficiency of the system resources and the transmission performance of PDCCH can be improved.

Abstract: A system and method for improving signaling channel robustness. Additional error correction is provided for (L1) dynamic signaling that is carried in P2 symbols in such way that high time diversity can be provided. In other embodiments, transmitted services are scheduled such that services will rotate or “move” between frames, thereby ensuring that a first slot for a service is not always transmitted in the same frequency.

Abstract: A method and system for transparent timing of an Ethernet signal over an optical transport network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a transceiver includes a first clock recovery circuit, a first synchronizer and an asynchronous mapper. The first clock recovery circuit recovers a first clock from a first signal received from an Ethernet network. The first synchronizer multiplies the first clock by a ratio M/N to produce a second clock to time a second signal transmitted over the optical transport network. M and N are integers. The asynchronous mapper maps frames of the first signal to produce frames of the second signal.

Abstract: A method for formatting a signal in a mobile communication system by appending a plurality of medium access control headers to a plurality of medium access control-service data units for data transfer between a mobile station and network in the mobile communication system. If the service data units have the same characteristics, a medium access control-protocol data unit is formed by successively coupling the service data units to any one of the medium access control headers. If the service data units have different characteristics, the protocol data unit is formed by sequentially coupling each of the service data units and each of the medium access control headers. The formed protocol data unit is then transformed into a transport block with a predetermined size.

Abstract: A data processing apparatus includes multiple processing means that are connected in a ring shape via corresponding communication means respectively. Each communication means includes a reception means for receiving data from a previous communication means, and a transmission means for transmitting data to a next communication means. Connection information is assigned to each of the reception means and the transmission means. The communication means, when receiving a packet that has same connection information as one assigned to its reception means, causes the corresponding processing means to perform data processing on the packet, sets the connection information assigned to its transmission means to the packet, and transmits the packet to the next communication means, and when receiving a packet that has connection information that is not same as one assigned to its reception means, transmits the packet to the next communication means without changing the connection information of the packet.
