  • Patent number: 10419066
Abstract: Approaches for supporting a RF automatic gain control (AGC) loop. A first module and a second module are coupled together via a single RF transmission cable. The first module might be a Remote PHY Device (RPD). The second module may comprise a power amplifier. Both the first and second module operate on a single automatic gain control (AGC) loop. The first module sends a first signal to the second module over the single RF transmission cable at a first frequency or frequency range. The first module may adjust a gain of the AGC loop based on a second signal sent from the second module to the first module over the single RF transmission cable. The second, counterpropagating signal has a different frequency or frequency range than the first frequency of the first signal, e.g., the second frequency or frequency range may be lower than that of the first frequency.

  • Patent number: 9749970
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may coordinate power utilization across component carriers (CCs) with different transmission time interval (TTI) configurations. For example, the UE may reserve a portion of the transmit power for a CC with a reduced TTI length (e.g., an enhanced CC (eCC)). In other examples, the UE may dynamically allocate power between CCs with overlapping uplink periods. That is, the UE may borrow power allocated to one CC to transmit on an eCC. The UE may use a prioritization scheme to determine the transmit power for each CC. In some cases, the UE may send a power headroom report based on the power level of the eCC. The power headroom may be a virtual power headroom based on predicted eCC transmission power, or an actual power headroom based on uplink scheduling.

Abstract: A communication apparatus repeatedly outputs a first multi-carrier signal SS during predetermined periods T1, T2, T3, . . . , and outputs a second multi-carrier signal RS whose phase vector is different from that of the first multi-carrier signal SS, at a predetermined timing based on the first multi-carrier signal SS. The communication apparatus further detects the second multi-carrier signal RS output from another communication apparatus, which uses a different communication method from the communication apparatus. Accordingly, both communication apparatuses can differentiate the first multi-carrier signal SS from the second multi-carrier signal RS without performing relatively cumbersome modulation and other processes.

  • Patent number: 8483294
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a common control channel in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) mobile communication system. In the transmission apparatus, when a plurality of bursts are transmitted during a Transmission Time Interval (TTI) of the common control channel, an Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) mapper generates bursts that are shifted in a frequency domain by applying a predetermined cyclic shift offset between the bursts, and maps the generated bursts in a resource block. A transmission unit transmits the bursts to a receiver. In the reception apparatus, a reception unit receives a burst, and a combining unit combines the received burst with a burst stored in a buffer. A decoder decodes each of the combined bursts, and upon a successful decoding, detects a TTI start timing of the common control channel from the successfully decoded burst.
