    Abstract: A system for using accelerometer-based detection of physical movement for document sharing provides easy and intuitive ways to securely share documents, even without passwords, between computing devices. The system of the present invention includes: at least two computing devices that each have a motion detection device capable of detecting sudden movements and generating a unique signature. The unique signature can then be used to generate signatures or shared secrets for controlling the transfer of data between devices. The motion detection device is capable of detecting sudden movement such as the tapping of the two computing devices together, tapping a stack of computing devices, tossing a computing device in the air. The system may optionally include an intermediary device such as a server for transferring the documents or files between computing devices such that only a small decryption key and file pointer is needed to share records between computing devices.

The size of the segments may match to the size of the MAC-hs PDUs minus the size of the header of the MAC-hs PDU. The sizes of the segments may be determined based on the number of segments to which the MAC-hs SDU is segmented. Alternatively, each MAC-hs PDU may include a combination of segments from a plurality of MAC-hs SDUs or a combination of at least one segment from one MAC-hs SDU and at least one entire MAC-hs SDU.

In addition, the pitch period estimation is bypassed completely when it is determined not to be necessary, as a result of the speech being unvoiced or silence. A waveform “bending” operation is performed into the current frame without inserting any algorithmic delay into each frame.

The scale factor is used for scaling the demodulated data symbols to generate scaled log-likelihood ratios for Turbo decoding.

The number-of-devices limitation placed on the special bus reduces the number of bits needed in a corresponding Device identifying field of a destination ID Tag to 4 or less, this integer number being smaller than the prescribed 5 bits called for by the PCI-Express standard for addressing the maximum of 32 devices per bus.
