  • Patent number: 11006150
Abstract: A method of video decoding can include receiving a bit stream including coded bits of bins of syntax elements. The syntax elements are of various types that correspond to transform coefficients of a transform block in a coded picture. Context modeling is performed to determine a context model for each bin of the syntax elements. In a given frequency region of the transform block, for one type of the syntax elements, a group of the transform coefficients having different template magnitudes within a predetermined range share a same context model, or one of the transform coefficients uses the same context model for possible different template magnitudes of the one of the transform coefficients. The possible different template magnitudes are within the predetermined range. The coded bits are decoded based on the context models determined for each bin of the syntax elements to determine the bins of the syntax elements.

  • Patent number: 10992341
Abstract: A multi-line digital transceiver configured to use low-complexity beamforming on at least some tones to boost effective SNR values for selected subscriber lines. In an example embodiment, the beamforming coefficients can be restricted to one-bit values or two-bit values, e.g., such that the corresponding beamforming computations can be implemented using only sign changes, swaps of the real and imaginary parts, and/or zeroing of some values, and without invoking any full-precision hardware multiplication operations. At least some embodiments can be run on a significantly simpler and/or less powerful vectoring engine than conventional beamforming solutions while still being able to provide nearly optimal beamforming SNR gains. In some embodiments, additional scaling by powers of two may be applied to at least some signals contributing to the beamforming, e.g., to satisfy power constraints for some or all of the subscriber lines.

  • Patent number: 10791342
Abstract: Moving image data of a wide viewing angle image is divided into blocks to obtain a coding target block. A motion-compensated reference block is extracted for each coding target block. The reference block is subjected to adjustment processing of rotation and/or scaling. A residual signal is calculated on the basis of a pixel value of the coding target block and a pixel value of the reference block subjected to the adjustment processing for each coding target block, and the residual signal of the coding target block is coded to obtain an encoded stream. Adjustment processing information is inserted into the encoded stream together with the motion vector for each coding target block. The residual can be reduced, the coding bit rate can be reduced, and consequently the coding performance of motion prediction can be improved.
