  • Patent number: 7697466
Abstract: At a base station apparatus, known pilot signals for use in channel estimation are transmitted, and in addition thereto MCS pilot signals that are used to perform adaptive modulations respectively corresponding to a plurality of modulation schemes are multiplexed and output. A mobile station apparatus dispreads the respective MCS signals out of the multiplex signal, compares these to known symbols patterns, and sends the MCS pilot signals that show a matching relationship to the base station apparatus as a mobile station reception result. Upon receiving the mobile station reception result from the mobile station apparatus, the base station apparatus selects the modulation scheme of the optimum modulation level for the downlink signals. This configuration makes it possible to switch the modulation schemes in an accurate and simple way.

  • Publication number: 20080049848
Abstract: A rearview assembly includes a mounting structure for attaching to a vehicle. The mounting structure includes a housing that has a rearview element disposed inside for providing a driver of the vehicle with a view to the rear of the vehicle. The rearview assembly also includes a continuously variable slope delta encoder module in or on the mounting structure configured to generate a feedback signal. The rearview assembly also includes a pre-processing module on or within the mounting structure. The pre-processing module is configured to process a source signal and the feedback signal from the continuously variable slope delta encoder module, and to provide a pre-processed signal to the continuously variable slope delta encoder module based on the value of the source signal and the feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 7280593
Abstract: A method and system for the synchronization of the transmission of digitally converted analog modem signals between two or more modems using either RF over-the-air or A/C power line communication channels. This invention provides for modem speed optimization by minimizing or eliminating clock variance between the modems in a digital communication system. A fixed delay is created and maintained during modem operation. This invention is also adapted to function in a full-duplex communication system maintaining a fixed delay in both directions.

  • Publication number: 20030086500
Abstract: A digital noise-shaping filter with real coefficients for delta-sigma data converters used in a digital amplifier, 1-bit digital/analog converter, 1-bit analog/digital converter and the like, and a method for making the same. The present digital noise-shaping filter has improved noise suppression performance and system stability and reduced calculation complexity. To this end, the digital noise-shaping filter comprises a noise transfer function expressed by NTF(z)=−1+a1z−1+a2z−2+&Lgr;+aNz−N. The noise transfer function has optimum real coefficients or real coefficients approximating them.

  • Patent number: 6400288
Abstract: An encoder is provided that converts data words into code words. The code words, when concatenated together, are such that sub-strings of consecutive first symbols in the code words have no more symbols than a maximum number; sub-strings having the maximum number of consecutive first symbols and beginning at selected locations within the code words appear without restriction, and sub-strings having the maximum number of consecutive first symbols and beginning at locations other than the selected locations appear only where the sub-string is concatenated with an acceptable secondary sub-string. A method is also provided for generating a set of such code words for an encoder.

  • Patent number: 6370397
Abstract: The present invention provides a search window delay tracking procedure for use in a multipath search processor of a CDMA radio receiver. A channel impulse responses is estimated for a received signal containing plural paths, each path having a corresponding path delay. A search window defines a delay profile that contains the plural paths of the received signal. A mean or average delay is calculated for the estimated channel impulse response (CIR), and an error is determined between the mean CIR delay and a desired delay position corresponding to the center of the CIR search window. An adjustment is made to reduce that error so that the center of the search window and the mean CIR delay are aligned. The error may be processed either linearly (in one embodiment) or non-linearly (in another embodiment) to minimize the error and to reduce an influence of noise.
