Abstract: A computer-executable method, a computer system and a non-transitory computer-readable medium are provided for causing electronic marketing communications of one or more promotions to be generated on a mobile computing device associated with a consumer. A method includes programmatically retrieving promotion data indicative of a plurality of promotions from a computer memory. The method includes determining, using processing circuitry, a promotion score for each of the plurality of promotions. Each promotion score is determined based on consumer profile data, stored consumer activity data, and at least one of: current consumer activity data, current local context data, or predicted consumer activity data. The method further includes outputting indications configured to generate electronic marketing communications associated with the plurality of promotions based on the promotion scores of the plurality of promotions.

Abstract: A location enabled mobile wireless device and central system cooperate to provide traffic control such as vehicle inspection site services and toll station services. Traffic control information such as vehicle inspection site information and toll station information is independently processed by a third party provider and sent to the central system. The mobile wireless device monitors its location and sends location and vehicle related information to the central system. The central system compares data from the third party provider and the mobile wireless device. The mobile wireless device or the central system take an action based on the comparison, such as toll payment or vehicle inspection site operations.

Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying an image on an image-enabled clothing article are disclosed. A method that can be used with the systems include determining, by a computing device, that at least a first advertisement and a second advertisement are acceptable for a participant. The computing device sends an option to select one of the first advertisement and second advertisement to a participant computing device via a computer network, wherein the option including payment terms for each of the first advertisement and second advertisement. The computing device also receives an indication from the participant computing device of a selected advertisement via the computer network, and sends instructions to the participant computing device to display the selected advertisement on an image-enabled clothing article of the participant via the computer network.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method for detecting illegitimate voice calls may include (1) identifying an incoming voice call, (2) processing the incoming voice call in real time by (a) segmenting the incoming voice call into progressively produced call segments and, (b) for each new segment as the progressively produced call segments are produced, (A) extracting a set of features from the new segment and (B) feeding, as input into a neural network, the set of features and an output from the neural network generated based on a preceding segment of the incoming voice call, thereby generating a new output representing the current likelihood that the incoming voice call is illegitimate, (3) determining that the likelihood that the incoming voice call is illegitimate is above a predetermined threshold, and (4) performing a security action during the incoming voice call. Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for buying and selling cellular service in a market allowing real-time pricing is disclosed. The computer-implemented method and system comprise storing at least one offer to sell a specified quantity of cellular service (which may be voice minutes, messages, data or other available service parameters) initiated by a seller, and processing one or more requests to purchase cellular service initiated by one or more buyers. The processing of the requests to purchase cellular service further comprises implementing a method for matching one or more requests to purchase cellular service with any stored offers; wherein when a match occurs the buyer is able to purchase the desired quantity of cellular service. The computer-implemented method and system includes deducting the purchased quantity of cellular service from a service profile of the seller and adding the purchased quantity of cellular service to a service profile of the buyer.

Abstract: Provided are a conference access method and a conference access apparatus. The method includes: receiving a call from a calling user, wherein information of a number called by the calling user includes a number of a called user and a number prefix, the called user is a conference member of a conference room, and the number prefix is used for accessing a conference system; and accessing the calling user to the conference room of the conference system. Through the technical solution, the problem that the calling user cannot join the conference due to various reasons in the related arts is solved, the flow of accessing the calling user to the conference room is optimized, the scope of application of the conference access method is expanded, and the efficiency and the success rate of accessing the calling user to the conference room are increased.

Abstract: A system and method for private text chatting. A request to a remote device to establish a private text chat session is either sent or received. Based on the sending or receiving, an acceptance from the remote device accepting the request is received. Based on the sending or receiving, a separate user interface to conduct the private text chat session is presented. Private text chat messages are exchanged in association with the private text chat session based on and subsequent to the receiving and the presenting.

Abstract: An award system associated with a telephony communications system analyzes one or more users' telephony activity to determine if the telephony activity satisfies certain predetermined award rules. If a single user's telephony activity satisfies one or more award rules, the system makes an award to the user. The making of an award can include posting the award on a social networking site with which the user is associated. The analysis can also include collecting information about a predetermined type of telephony activity for multiple users of the system, and determining which of the multiple users has experienced the most of the predetermined type of telephony activity. An award is then granted to those users who experienced the most of the predetermined type of telephony activity.

Abstract: A method encoded in a memory of a specialized network node configured for allowing an SMSC to be informed of the location of the UE originating a short message via an IP-SM-GW and also of the location of the receiving UE when a short message is delivered through an IP-SM-GW. Additionally the disclosed method ensures that charging systems can correlate IP-SM-GW charging requests for a short message with any charging requests generated by the SMSC for the same message.

Abstract: A method of managing communications services begins with a communications platform receiving a request for a communications service to be provided to a communications device by a source other than the communications platform. The communications platform determines an authorization of the communications device to receive the communications service. The authorization comprises a permission of the communications device to receive the communications service during a lifetime of a communications session maintained with the communications device. The communications network authorizes delivery of the communications service to the communications device during the lifetime of the communications session, in accordance with the authorization.

Abstract: A charging monitoring method includes triggering a quota monitoring procedure for a consumption amount of an international roaming subscriber when it is determined that a service request is specific to the international roaming subscriber. The quota monitoring procedure is performed in a charging network element of an intelligent network system. The method also includes monitoring the consumption amount of the international roaming subscriber through the quota monitoring procedure to determine whether the consumption amount reaches a preset quota. If the consumption amount reaches the preset quota, the method includes rejecting the service request according to a rejection instruction returned by the charging network element. If the consumption amount does not reach the preset quota, the method includes approving the service request according to an approval instruction returned by the charging network element.

Abstract: Shared usage plans are popular with families, friends, and small businesses. These shared usage plans share some cumulative utilization of resources, such as communications services. Even though multiple devices may share a monthly allotment of resources, an individual threshold is established for each device. The multiple individual thresholds may then be dynamically regulated to maintain the monthly allotment of resources.

Abstract: Communication networks and associated methods are disclosed that provide charging for long duration sessions. A charging data system of the communication network receives interim accounting request messages from a network element that is serving a session. The charging data system identifies interim timestamps for the interim accounting request messages, and stores the interim timestamps. After a time period during the long duration session, the charging data system generates a partial CDR. The charging data system then inserts duration information for the long duration session in the partial CDR based on the stored interim timestamps, and transmits the partial CDR to a correlation system. The correlation system may then calculate a total duration for the session based on the duration information in the partial CDR. Even if a start/stop timestamp is not available, the correlation system may estimate the total duration of the session based on the interim timestamps.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for ensuring a real-time connection between users and selected service providers using voice mail. The system enables seekers of a wide array of services to select, contact, converse, and pay for a service provider using a communications device such as the telephone. A seeker locates a service provider by providing the name of a profession, which is recognized by the system's software. Once a service provider is selected, the system connects the seeker with the service provider for a live conversation. However, during service provider unavailability, the system enables the seeker to leave a voice mail message for the service provider and reconnects the user and service provider once the message is reviewed by the service provider. The system automatically bills the seeker for the time spent conversing with the service provider and compensates the service provider.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses to connect people for real time communications via optional advertisements presented via directory assistance. One embodiment includes: receiving a directory assistance request from a user over a telephonic connection with the user; providing directory assistance information responsive to the directory assistance request; presenting an option related to an advertisement to the user; if the user declines the option, charging the user a fee for providing the directory assistance information; and if the user accepts the option, reducing the fee for providing the directory assistance information.

Abstract: A Home Location Register (HLR) and an Interworking Gateway (IWG) of an operator are configured to redirect Mobile Originated Short Messages (MO SM) sent by roaming cellular communication devices of both prepaid and postpaid subscribers hosted by a foreign network to a real time charging gateway (RTCG). The RTCG retrieves from the operator's database the type of subscription of the sending device. If the device is of a postpaid subscription, the RTCG operates as a relay between an SMSC and the foreign network. If the device is of a prepaid subscription, the RTCG communicates with a PrePaid System (PPS) and forwards the MO SM to the SMSC only in case there are sufficient funds in the respective prepaid account.

Abstract: A method and system for session modification are provided. The method includes these steps: A home policy and charging rules function (h-PCRF) sends a policy and charging control (PCC) rule providing message to a first policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) according to a received PCC rule request message, an application layer service message, or an h-PCRF self-trigger event; and the h-PCRF sends a PCC rule providing message to a second PCEF according to a PCC rule response message received from the first PCEF. With this present disclosure, session modification may be implemented when two or more PCEFs are included in the PCC architecture of a system architecture evolution (SAE) system.

Abstract: The present invention includes a method and software application for providing a promotion to a user on a phone. The software application resides on a user's phone and “listens” for phone numbers dialed by a user. In response to the user dialing a phone number, the software determines whether a promotion or an offer for a promotion should be provided to the user. In response to determining to play or offer to play a promotion to the user, the software application on the phone effectively “intercepts” the call and plays to the user either a promotion or an offer to hear about a promotion prior to placing an outbound voice call. The software application may retrieve the promotion from local memory or may connect with a remote server to download an applicable promotion.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing relevant information to users (e.g., information that is at least potentially of interest to the users). Relevant information for a user may be automatically determined based on a determined context of the user and/or on a request for that information from the user. For example, voice-based information may be obtained from a user in one or more ways, and then analyzed to identify requests or other indications of information of interest and/or to otherwise determine a context of the user that corresponds to potential information of interest. Relevant information for a user may be provided to the user in various ways, such as via a voice-based response during a telephone call and/or via one or more electronic messages sent to the user (e.g., via emails, instant messages, paging messages, SMS or other text messages, etc.).

Abstract: A method of establishing a charged connection using a screen sharing application between multi-platforms is disclosed. A transmitting end application is installed in a transmitting end apparatus of a sharing source. A receiving end application is installed in a receiving end apparatus of a sharing target. If the transmitting end application is a charged version, an unlimited connection is established for performing screen sharing between the transmitting end apparatus and any receiving end apparatus. If the transmitting end application is a free version, the method further confirms if the receiving end application is a charged version for deciding whether a limited connection or an unlimited connection should be established. Thus, it is assured that either the transmitting end application or the receiving end application is a charged version, the interests of application developers are protected and users are free from paying twice for establishing one connection.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for performing reverse least cost routing and price management. In particular, a telecommunications carrier monitors network traffic for a wholesale carrier customer using the carrier's telecommunication services. A new pricing scheme and/or rate for network usage by the wholesale carrier may be generated based on a set of policies created by the carrier, such as when it is determined that the wholesale customer's network usage has decreased. The generated rates and/or pricing schemes may be provided to the wholesale carrier customer in real time.

Telephony call setup requests are monitored at a system for incenting telephony service usage and participants in a telephony service usage incentive program are identified. The system may be associated with a telephony central office. If a particular caller or call setup request is associated with a milestone, such as every nth caller or every mth minute, corresponding to the incentive program, the caller is provided with an incentive award. Eligibility may be determined by identifying callers enrolled in a particular calling plan, callers having opted into receiving advertising during a call, and callers that have opted into call monitoring. Advertising may be provided before call connection, during, or after a call and selected advertising may be provided by determining caller characteristics and caller phone interaction information.

The method includes a step of displaying to the user a graphical display of current charges on their account together with an indicia indicating a spending limit associated with the account. The graphical display is designed such that the proximity of the sum of the current charges to the spending limit is displayed. The method further includes providing a display feature whereby the user can change the display to further display the current charges for the account, in addition to a charge for service by the telephone service provider which has not yet been incurred, such as for example the next monthly service charge. The graphical display of the spending limit gauge can take a variety of forms, such as bar graphics, or pie-chart. In one embodiment, the displays are presented on the display of a wireless telephone.

An alert is generated through the communication terminal in response to the cumulative utilization exceeding a threshold amount. The cumulative utilization of resources may be determine by a core network of the communication system and/or by the communication terminal. The core network may transmit an alert message to the communication terminal to trigger an alert therefrom in response to the cumulative utilization of resources exceeding a threshold value.

Embodiments allow for a calling party and/or a called party to select a preferred communication carrier from a plurality of communication carriers for a current communication and/or one or more future communications. A party's carrier selection may be stored by a communication processing system for use with respect to a plurality of communication sessions. Embodiments provide a conflict resolution algorithm to arbitrate conflicting carrier selections where both a calling party and a called party to select a carrier for a communication session. Embodiments provide a premise based communication processing system, a centralized communication processing system, or a distributed configuration comprising a hybrid of the foregoing premise based and centralized configurations.

In one aspect, a method includes receiving from a carrier a bid for routing a telephone call to a destination; automatically loading the received bid into a least cost routing database to generate an updated least cost routing database; and making the updated least cost routing database accessible for use in determining one or more least cost routes. Further, the received bid can be analyzed to generate a projected business result and the projected business result can be presented to the carrier before loading the received bid into the least cost routing database. Additionally, input can be received from the carrier specifying an historical period and the projected business result can be generated based on data associated with the specified historical period.

A contact is received from a customer and routed from the customer to the lowest bidder service provider on the contact list. The service provider account receiving the contact and fulfilling the transaction is credited the amount bid by the service provider.

Abstract: The current invention is a system for providing telephone directory assistance service in which a telephone user calls to the system and the system will, based on the requested number or type of service, hear a recorded advertisement. The advertisements are selected from a databank, which may include any number advertisements categorized within the category associated with the service, according to selection criteria. After the advertising announcement is completed, the directory assistance call is processed as usual. The selection criteria can include the use of SIC codes.

The first information allows the second communication terminal to display the attempted call so that a callback to the first communication terminal can be executed on the part of the second communication terminal. Abstract: This invention relates to a method for supporting a communication session of an user equipment, by means of a communication system that includes at least one entity between the user equipment and a node with which the user equipment is arranged to establish a session, the method including the steps of establishing a session between the user equipment and the node via the at least one entity, putting the session on hold, reserving resources for the session while the session is on hold, and resuming the session and distributing charging information.
