Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to generating a pre-call analysis for one or more users that are receiving and/or initializing a call with one or more other users, and/or prioritizing pre-call content according to whether security-related value was gleaned from provisioning certain pre-call content. One or more machine learning models can be employed for determining the pre-call content to be cached and/or presented prior to a user accepting a call from another user. Feedback provided before, during, and/or after the call can be used as a basis from which to prioritize certain content and/or sources of content when generating pre-call content for a subsequent call. Other information, such as contextual data (e.g., calendar entries, available peripheral devices, location, etc.) corresponding to the previous call and/or the subsequent call, can also be used as a basis from which to provide a pre-call analysis.

Abstract: A method for upgrading a certificate of a POS terminal, a server, a POS terminal and a terminal device are provided, this method includes: performing a mutual authentication with the POS terminal when receiving a certificate upgrading request sent from the POS terminal; and encapsulating the certificate to be upgraded in a preset proprietary protocol format to obtain update data, using a session key to encrypt the update data to obtain a ciphertext and sending the ciphertext to the POS terminal, after the mutual authentication is passed. According to the present application, a problem that it is inconvenient to use the existing certificate update methods, much time needs to be consumed, and transportation cost is increased may be solved.

Abstract: A system and method of providing caller identification (ID) over a public switched telephone network (PSTN). For outbound calls, the system and method enable a caller to provide a caller ID that differs from the native caller ID of their mobile phone. The system and method enable multiple phones tied to a single account to display the same caller ID for outbound calls. For forwarded inbound calls, such as calls being forwarded from an office, the system and method inform the recipient of the identification of the call as well as that the call is being forwarded. The system and method enable the recipient to have calls forwarded from more than one number and identify the identity of the caller as well as the specific number the call is being forwarded from.

Abstract: A first device generates first encrypted data from a second public key corresponding to second ID regarding a second device and a first random number and transmits first ID regarding the first device, second ID, and first encrypted data. The second device generates second encrypted data from a first public key corresponding to the first ID and a second random number, generates second verification data by generating a second shared-key candidate from the second random number, the first encrypted data, and a second private key, and transmits the second encrypted data and second verification data. The first device generates first verification data by generating a first shared-key candidate from the first random number, the second encrypted data, and a first private key and transmits the first verification data. The first and second devices examine the second and first verification data by using the first and second shared-key candidates, respectively.

Abstract: Prioritized and categorized presentation of incoming communications is provided based on characteristics of the communications such as sender, recipients, subject, body content, recipient's past interactions, and similar ones. User or administrator defined explicit rules and configurations may be taken into consideration along with analysis results of incoming communication attributes and user history in determining a category and a priority level for the incoming communication. The incoming communication may then be presented according to the determined category and priority level along with tools for the recipient to modify automatic determinations and otherwise interact with the communication.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for providing additional information to called parties comprises receiving a call from a calling party, performing a lookup of information associated with the calling party in a database, receiving the information from the database, and forwarding the information to a called party. The system comprises at least one device for receiving a call from a calling party, and at least one database for storing information associated with the calling party, wherein the at least one device is operable to perform a lookup of information associated with the calling party in a database, receive the information from the database, and forward the information to a called party.

Abstract: An application instantiated on a computing device of a professional receives a selection of a client by a professional to place a call to the client by way of an identifier of the client, and upon receiving the selection of the client, presents to the professional a number of options for an identifier of the professional to be provided with the placed call to the client. The application receives from the professional a selection of one of the options for the identifier of the professional, places the call from the professional to the client, and in doing so provides the selected identifier of the professional with the placed call. The selected and provided identifier of the professional represents a favored location at which the professional or an associate thereof may be reached. The client may ascertain the provided identifier of the professional from the placed call and employ same to place a future call toward the professional or the associate thereof.

Abstract: An application instantiated on a computing device of a professional receives transmitted information on an incoming call from a client and displays same, including an identifier of the client by which the professional can place a return call thereto. Upon the professional selecting the identifier of the client, the application presents a number of options for an identifier of the professional to be provided with the return call, receives a selection of one of the options, places the return call from the professional to the client, and in doing so provides the selected identifier of the professional. The provided identifier of the professional represents a favored location at which the professional or an associate may be reached. The client may ascertain the provided identifier from the return call and employ same to place a future call toward the professional or the associate.

Abstract: A media control profile is described herein. The media control profile provides a number of selectable pre-defined and/or user-defined settings to manipulate the functionality of a hybrid telecommunications and entertainment mobile device. Three basic modes of operation, namely a telecommunications-only device mode, an entertainment-only device mode, and a hybrid telecommunications and entertainment device mode are provided. Settings associated with one or more of these basic modes are combined to form a media control profile for the hybrid mobile device.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a method for split billing. The method includes receiving a requested token. The requested token specifies conditions under which network traffic is allowed to be billed against a third party for content requested from a mobile computing device. The method also includes matching network traffic between the mobile computing device and a content provider to the specified conditions. The method further includes metering the matched network traffic to a billing account for the third party.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a query from an external entity for information about a call between a first user and a second user, determining a call identifier associated with the call and providing the call identifier to the external entity. Subsequently, when a request to alter the call and comprising the call identifier is received from the external entity, the call is altered the call in accordance with the request.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for authenticating caller identification in VoIP communication. A VoIP device receives an incoming call from an originating calling device; wherein the incoming call includes (1) a caller identification and (2) a unique identifier associated with the originating calling device. The VoIP device verifies that the caller identification in the received incoming call matches an entry in a trusted directory, wherein the trusted directory includes one or more entries of previously verified caller identifications. Upon verifying that the caller identification in the received incoming call matches a caller identification entry in the trusted directory, the VoIP device sends an inquiry to a unique locator associated with the matching caller identification in the trusted directory.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a customized CLI comprise receiving, by a network element, a first SET-UP message from a transmitting device during a call set up. The network element then retrieves an identification of the transmitting device from the first SET-UP message and obtains a first Caller Line Identification (CLI) of the transmitting device corresponding to the retrieved identification. Further, the network element determines whether the first SET-UP message includes a first indicator and retrieves a data message from the first SET-UP message when the first SET-UP message includes a first indicator. The network element then adds the data message, the first CLI, and a second indicator to a second SET-UP message and transmits the second SET-UP message to a receiving device during the same call set up, for displaying a customized CLI on the receiving device, thereby alerting a user of the receiving device of an incoming call.

Abstract: A system and method for providing enhanced information to a mobile communication device regarding a calling device is described. The system and method includes receiving an incoming call request at a mobile communication device including the identifier of the calling device. An information request is then formulated including the identifier of the calling device. The information request is transmitted from the mobile communication device to the query processing center via a data communication channel. A response is then obtained from the data processing center and transmitted to the mobile phone via the data communication channel. The response received from the data processing center includes the requested information related to the calling device.

Abstract: A method for managing a phishing call is provided. The method includes receiving an incoming telecommunication request. The method also includes comparing a unique identification associated with the incoming telecommunication request against a set of contact lists. The method further includes, if the unique identification is not found on the set of contact lists, activating a delay timer to prevent a set of user notification components from being triggered for a delay period. The method yet also includes performing a connection analysis to determine status of the incoming telecommunication request. The method moreover includes, if the incoming telecommunication request is terminated during the delay period, updating a phishing call log with data about the incoming telecommunication request, wherein the updating of the phishing call log occurs without the set of user notification components being triggered, responsive to the incoming telecommunication request, during or subsequent to the updating.

Abstract: A system for managing contact information between mobile devices. A notification is received any time a mobile device initiates or terminates a communication. The receiving mobile device is prompted to obtain the contact information of the caller. Based on permissions set by the caller, the receiving mobile device may obtain the caller's public contact information, private contact information, none of the caller's contact information or some combination of the caller's public and private contact information. In one embodiment, a subset of the caller's contact information is displayed in the screen of a receiving mobile device coincidentally while receiving the phone call to provide a caller-identification feature.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are provided for employing an efficient call tracing algorithm. Messages may be filtered according to an initial filter criteria, then messages that meet the initial filter criteria are analyzed to develop a secondary filter criteria. The first and/or second filter criteria can then be applied to subsequently transmitted messages for a predetermined amount of time, most likely relating to the length of the call which met the first filter criteria.

Abstract: A telecommunications system has a plurality of mutually independent clients each having a plurality of terminal devices connecting to the telecommunication system and provided in groups. A client specific identification KID and a group specific identification ZID are assigned. A dispatcher number storage can serve to assign the KID and ZID from an E.164 incoming call for routing purposes and to determine whether calls will be executed internally or externally.

Abstract: A method of controlling subscriber access to SIP-based services facilitated by an IP Multimedia Subsystem. The method comprises defining at a Serving Call Session Control Function node at least one default screening trigger, and downloading from a Home Subscriber Subsystem, specific screening triggers allocated to at least certain subscribers. At the Serving Call Session Control Function node, at least certain SIP messages originating at subscriber terminals are intercepted and, for each intercepted message and in the absence of a matching specific screening trigger, the default trigger is activated so as to cause the SIP message to be forwarded to a specific SIP application service.

Abstract: A system for selectively blocking and unblocking the sending of outgoing caller ID information from a communication device comprises a communication device, a processor coupled to the communication device and a storage medium coupled to the processor containing a directory of information entries. The information entries include both telephone numbers and associated security levels. When a call is placed to a number using the communication device, the processor seeks the number in the directory of the storage medium. If an entry is found for the number by the processor, caller ID information is prevented from being sent to the number unless a security level associated with the number is at or above a predefined cut-off level.

Abstract: A mobile station in a cellular telecommunication network includes an apparatus and method for storing a calling party identification signal. This calling party identification signal is transmitted to an originating MSC along with the call set up signals. The originating MSC then transmits the calling party identification signals to an HLR which transmits them to a serving MSC for delivering to the called party mobile station. Accordingly, the method and apparatus support the delivery of calling party identification signals to the called party without requiring the creation and maintenance of databases for storing such information. The mobile station as well as the MSCs adaptive to store the calling party information signals and to receive and transmit the same. The communication signal definitions between the mobile stations MSCs base stations HLRs and VLRs are all adapted to include and support the transmission of the calling party identification signals which are permanently stored in the mobile station.

Abstract: A personalized calling party ID display service in a telecommunications network. Upon initiating a phone call by a calling party towards a called party having a caller ID service, an access code associated with the present invention's service is operable to be effectuated by the calling party. In one embodiment, the calling party selects a particular identification indicium by entering a numeric code. In another embodiment, the calling party dynamically enters a personalized identification indicium at the calling party's station. Where an identification indicium has not been selected or entered, a default indicium may be provided by the network. The service logic is operable to replace or augment a conventional caller ID parameter with the personalized identification indicium based on a service profile query, with the dynamically entered identification indicium, or with a default indicium, and transmit the indicium to the called party provided the caller ID service is active.

Abstract: A system and method for providing easy access to messaging services in a telecommunications network having office switches that are used by different providers of telephone and messaging services. The system uses a supplementary services database to maintain customer records including whether the customer uses messaging services and whether the customer subscribes to a short dialing sequence service for access to the messaging services. The customer is connected to the central office switch, which analyzes the dialing sequences generated by the customer. When the customer attempts access to the messaging services, the customer dials a short dialing or message sequence, such as *XX. The central office switch triggers a query to the supplementary services database for a call forwarding number to the messaging service used by the customer when the selected short dialing sequence is recognized by the switch.

In one embodiment, when the audible caller identification is provided, the call is presented to the called party with a distinctive ring at the called telephone station. In another embodiment, the calling party may enter a personal identification number (PIN) to bypass the requirement for audible caller identification information. In still another embodiment, when the PIN is entered, the call is presented with a distinctive ring at the called communication station. In still another embodiment, the called party may send the incoming call to a voice mail system.
