Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for providing transfer and configuration of web conferencing between consumer devices includes a processor to parse one or more electronic communications on one or more computing devices associated with a user to identify web conference data. The processor may extract the web conference data in the one or more electronic communications and transmit the web conference data and the user credential data to a media device. The media device may be a smart media device and/or a digital television. The process may further receive one or more web conference user preferences and/or user credential data and transmit the one or more web conference user preferences and/or the user credential data to the media device. The processor may display the web conference on the media device according to the one or more web conference user preferences.

Abstract: An approach for retrieving and storing telephone numbers along with related contextual information associated with inbound/outbound communications to/from a device. The approach includes a method that includes combining, by at least one processing device, identification information of an entity and a related communication mechanism used to initiate a communication to a device. The method further includes providing, by the at least one processing device, a soft record that includes the identification information and the related communication mechanism.

Abstract: An application such as a contacts management application may be configured to display information for multiple contacts. The displayed information may include carrier information for certain contacts, indicating which of multiple cellular communication carriers provides cellular communication services for each contact. This may allow a user to provide recommendations to the user's contacts, such as promotional messages suggesting that the contacts switch to the carrier of the user. In some embodiments, a control may be displayed that automatically initiates a promotional message to a particular contact.

A mobile electronic device is described that includes a primary display, a primary user input mechanism, and a secondary display. The primary display is operable to display user-selectable elements and has a face on a portion of an exterior surface of the mobile electronic device. The exterior surface includes all surfaces visible to a user. The primary user input mechanism is operable to receive user selections in coordination with the primary display of user-selectable elements. The secondary display is operable to display content to a user. The secondary display includes substantially the entire exterior surface of the mobile electronic device excluding the primary display.

Abstract: A method and apparatus include a first server that communicates with a second server to cause a call back request to be communicated to an endpoint so that the endpoint can initiate a call back connection with the first server or a third server. Such a call back connection may occur near real time or in substantially real time so that updates can be supplied to an endpoint running an application supported by the server quickly and efficiently. The endpoint may register with the second server such that the second server is able to utilize notification messages for providing call back request information to the endpoint to advise the endpoint of a call back request.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and storage medium for displaying a conversation interface. In the method: the terminal displays a caller identification display interface when a call request is received from a calling party. The terminal obtains a dynamic image associated with the calling party while displaying the caller identification display interface. The terminal displays the dynamic image in the caller identification display interface. The calling party in the conversation is indicated by using one or more dynamic images so that the display effect is diversified and visualized.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing an end-of-call short message based on click to dial are disclosed. The method includes: receiving a click to dial request of a network customer service, and establishing a call from a calling party to a called party; and judging whether a condition of triggering the end-of-call short message is satisfied, and if it is determined that the condition of triggering the end-of-call short message is satisfied, sending the end-of-call short message to a preset receiver of the end-of-call short message. The apparatus includes: a click to dial unit and a judgment unit. In the present document, by organically combining the CTD service and the end-of-call short message in websites of specific enterprises and stores, the enterprises and stores are better advertised.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system, method, and apparatus for managing the calling-party identification information offered to called parties. Accordingly, a caller can designate the Caller ID information to the called party based on the context of the call (e.g. the role of the caller) rather than the terminal used. Typically the calling party does this by selecting which of multiple values they wish to have sent with the call request. It is beneficial to implement such a mechanism in a secure manner—the ability to employ a different calling-number or calling-name ID should be restricted to properly-authorized and authenticated persons—in order to ensure the quality of this information. Accordingly, preferred embodiments include an authentication mechanism for verifying the calling party information is authentic.

Abstract: Network-based methods and systems transfer caller ID information from a telephony network to an IPTV network. Embodiments integrate service provisioning, subscriber account and policy information between telephony services and IP-based television services. Voice call signaling may be intercepted to retrieve caller ID, caller name information, and other call management information, at the call server in the network to deliver an appropriate notification message to the IP-based TV network at its notification server, which in turn sends a message notification to the called party's TV screen. Call log information may also be retrieved and displayed. SIP call forking and IP multimedia subsystem approaches are described.

Abstract: A method and system for providing computer-network related information about a second party. First. the second party receives a telephone number of a first party. The second party's customer premises equipment (CPE) or elements in a telephone network then use the telephone number to index a database, which contains combinations of telephone numbers and computer-network addresses. Once the first party's computer-network address is retrieved, first-party-customized information present at the computer-network location specified by the computer-network address can be sent to and displayed on the second party's CPE. Also the first party's telephone number can be sent to an application in the computer network, causing the first-party-customized information to be automatically displayed on the second party's CPE.

Abstract: The present invention provides an extensible phone application that uses extensions to interact with other applications executing in a mobile communication device. The extensible phone application is operable to handle wireless communication for the mobile communication device. Another application may interact with the extensible phone application by incorporating an extension. The extensible phone application enables the extension to register with the phone application for receiving a notification associated with an event. In response to the event, the extensible phone application sends the notification to the extension.

Abstract: Embodiments of a method, system, and apparatus for inserting caller identifying information into a video signal includes receiving a digital video stream and receiving caller identifier information from an incoming call associated with a calling device. The method further includes converting the caller identifier information into caller identifying textual information, and inserting the caller identifying textual information into the digital video stream using a visual timecode video insertion format. The method further includes transmitting the digital video stream with the inserted caller identifying textual information.

In various embodiments, the facility receives identifiers of participants in an electronically facilitated conference and displays a list of the participants in a roll call. The list can include indications of which participant is speaking, whether participants are authenticated, and other information associated with the participant, such as the participant's name.

Abstract: Embodiments provide caller information in multiple languages to multiple receiving communication devices. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a call request from a sending endpoint communication device connected to a network. Caller identification information associated with the call request is obtained, where the caller identification information includes one or more identifications associated with the sending endpoint communication device. Each identification specifies the same content in a different language. The call request and at least one of the identifications are transmitted over the network to be received by receiving endpoint communication devices connected to the network. Each receiving endpoint communication device can output at least one of the received identifications specified in a language designated for use by that receiving endpoint communication device.

Content may be presented pre-ring (before the called party's telephone rings), in-call, and/or post-call. Content presented to a party may be related to another party participating in the call or may be related to a third party (e.g., an advertiser that paid for the ability to have its content presented). Presented content may be actuable, to allow a caller to change the destination of a call, take advantage of an offer presented to him or her, redeem a coupon, schedule or queue a subsequent call, etc. To find a desired destination party, a caller may initiate a manual or automatic search of his or her local contacts (on his telephone) and/or a central or global directory or contact list.

Abstract: An enhanced telephone emulation computer system including a minidialer program for controlling a computer to add telephony functions which can be invoked from whatever active program is currently controlling the computer. The minidialer program controls the computer to alter its processing depending upon the context existing at the time when a mouse click or hot key combination event is detected indicating the user wishes to invoke a telephony function. The minidialer program determines whether the user has highlighted any text or numbers in the active window of the application currently controlling the computer and whether the highlighted material is a name or a phone number, and if a name, whether the name is stored with a phone number in a phone book or file maintained on the computer. Processing and telephony menu options displayed as available also depend upon whether the user is or is not on the phone at the time the mouse click or hot key event occurs.

Abstract: A caller may initiate a phone call to a device. A call preview system may send a preview message in conjunction with the phone call. The preview message may contain preview information that identifies the caller. The call preview system may use a text or media messaging service to send the preview message. Callers can manage their own preview information relieving each user from continuously updating contact information in personal contact directories. The call preview system may use different schemes for initiating phone calls. In one example, the call preview system may initiate or forward phone calls in conjunction with sending the preview message. In another example, the call preview system may delay calling a phone number or delay forwarding the phone call until a message is received acknowledging the preview message or accepting the phone call.

The receipt of the image data may allow a receiver of the communication to reduce spam and verify that the initiator is who it purports to be.

Abstract: A method and system for presenting interactive information about a party in a telecommunication call are provided. The party may be a calling party or a called party. Providing interactive information may include identifying a party in a telecommunication call and receiving interactive information about the party. The received interactive information may be combined with user data to form combined interactive information. The combined interactive information may be displayed to a user. A user-action relating to the displayed combined interactive information may be received and an operation corresponding to the user-action may be performed. Providing interactive information may include determining if the user data is needed by analyzing the interactive information. The interactive information may include events, and the user data may include the user's schedule. The combining may correlate the events with the schedule and creates a set of user-actions based on the correlation.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for providing cross-platform presence are described. In some implementations, a cross-platform presence server can be provided that allows a caller to accurately assess the availability and other similar status of a callee by evaluating a device status of a plurality of communication devices associated with the callee. The cross-platform presence server can then determine, based on these device statuses, whether a callee is available. The availability of the callee can subsequently be displayed to the caller (e.g., on the caller's phone), or any other individuals who have been granted permission by the callee to be notified of the callee's availability.

Abstract: A location of a calling party is provided to a called party. The location can be provided if the calling party is using a mobile communications device or a wireline system. The location of the calling party can be provided in a hierarchy of various levels of accuracy/precision representative of different geographies provided by a service provider. The choice of levels for each received call or all received calls can be configurable by the called party. The called party may subscribe to a service that provides the location information. The called party may have the option to receive location information on a per call basis. The calling party may be asked for consent. Location information can be provided for any appropriate type of call, such as, for example, voice calls, text based calls (e.g., SMS messages), or the like. In an example configuration, the SS7 network is utilized.

Abstract: A method for testing electronic devices that are correspondingly connected to test units includes generating control signals for the electronic devices that are connected to one or more test units selected from the test units. A control unit adds ID codes corresponding to the selected test units to the control signals, and wirelessly transmits the control signals with the ID codes to all of the test units. Each of the test units compares the ID codes added to the control signals with its own stored ID code. When the ID code added to a control signal is in accordance with the ID code stored in one of the test units, the test unit controls the electronic device connected thereto to be turned on and off according to the control signal.

Abstract: A method and system for presenting interactive information about a party in a telecommunication call are provided. The party may be a calling party or a called party. Providing interactive information may include identifying a party in a telecommunication call and receiving interactive information about the party. The received interactive information may be combined with user data to form combined interactive information. The combined interactive information may be displayed to a user. A user-action relating to the displayed combined interactive information may be received and an operation corresponding to the user-action may be performed. Providing interactive information may include determining if the user data is needed by analyzing the interactive information. The interactive information may include events, and the user data may include the user's schedule. The combining may correlate the events with the schedule and creates a set of user-actions based on the correlation.

Abstract: A system granting access to application data and methods thereof are provided in the present disclosure. Application data can be sent that can be utilized by applications resident within a telephony switching system or end devices involved in a call. When the calling party dials the called party, the switching system can be triggered to substitute a database key into the calling party number. The switching system can use the act of making the call to enable permission for the called party to access the data referenced by the database key. The telephony switching system, having provided the key, is capable of mapping the key back into the original calling party number. This allows the calling party number, through the database key, to be stored as a contact or dialed from a call log, which can provide backwards compatibility to devices that do not support this feature.

If the incoming call is associated with a subscription to presence information media data associated with the subscription can be output through an output unit in the telephone terminal. Abstract: A call center having agent stations comprising telephones connected to computer stations by a Telephone Application Programming Interface (TAPI)-compliant bridge has data pertaining to callers stored in a database on a local area network (LAN) to which the computer stations are also connected. Origination data for incoming calls, both conventional calls to the telephones and computer-simulated calls to the computer platforms, is used as a key to extract data pertaining to calls from the database for display on video display units (VDUs) of the computer workstations where the calls are terminated. In some cases, data is only extracted and displayed for calls from previously listed origination points.

The method includes identifying, using term-recognition circuitry, at least one key term within an electronic message received with an electronic communications device. Abstract: A method and apparatus for a customized CLI comprise receiving, by a network element, a first SET-UP message from a transmitting device during a call set up. The network element then retrieves an identification of the transmitting device from the first SET-UP message and obtains a first Caller Line Identification (CLI) of the transmitting device corresponding to the retrieved identification. Further, the network element determines whether the first SET-UP message includes a first indicator and retrieves a data message from the first SET-UP message when the first SET-UP message includes a first indicator. The network element then adds the data message, the first CLI, and a second indicator to a second SET-UP message and transmits the second SET-UP message to a receiving device during the same call set up, for displaying a customized CLI on the receiving device, thereby alerting a user of the receiving device of an incoming call.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing calls and data are described. A user interface is displayed on a communication terminal associated with a user, wherein the user interface includes: a menu item enabling the user to initiate a voice call with a specified entity and a menu item or form via which the user can provide contextual information relating to the voice call. Contextual information provided by the user is transmitted to the specified entity, optionally prior to the voice call being established between the specified entity and the user. A data session is established. A call request is received from the user. Contextual information provided by the user is provided for display to the specified entity. A voice session is established, including the establishment of the voice call between the specified entity and the user, while the contextual information is displayed to the specified entity.
