Provisioning Patents (Class 379/201.12)
  • Patent number: 6661885
Abstract: A translation file containing trunk group, trunk level and other translation data is created on a translation input system in response to a circuit provisioning request. An interface between the translation input system and a trunk inventory system transfers the translation file to a translation file directory on a server. The interface logs into the trunk inventory system to generate a translation document to be used by switch technicians to translate trunk groups. Generic views are used rather than conventional structured views to simplify the generation of the translations document. The generic views also reduce the complexity of the software required to implement the interface.

  • Publication number: 20030142808
Abstract: A system for automated installation of a communication line using an optimal route between a source location and a destination location is disclosed. The system includes a routing engine providing an automated design process for rendering the optimal route. The routing engine utilizes a routing algorithm to select the optimal route from a graph of capacity links defining a plurality of possible routes between the source and destination locations. If, at any time during the design process, the optimal route or capacity links defining the optimal route are detected as unavailable for any reason, the routing engine re-initiates the design process and thereafter selects a new optimal route based upon a new capacity graph built without the previously unavailable capacity link. Once designed, the available optimal route is provided to a command and control engine, which, in turn, manages the installation of the communication line using the optimal route.

  • Patent number: 6574323
Abstract: An advanced intelligent network (AIN) stores, at time of service provisioning, call processing records (CPRs) associated with select special needs services. The CPR initiates alternative processing or suppresses processing of a CPR associated with a called party to provide special services. For example, public safety and emergency readiness and response organizations are identified at time of initial service provisioning with an appropriate passive user service CPR stored in a service control point thereby invoking special call processing requirements when calling another subscriber. Thus, subscriber AIN services which might block or reroute a call placed by an emergency organization would be suppressed by operation of the CPR associated with the calling telephone line. Other special need calls might also be accommodated.

  • Publication number: 20010014151
Abstract: A system and method of implementing and provisioning features and thereby providing feature services in a call processing environment where features may be introduced, changed or removed from outside the code base. Features are introduced or “injected” into the call processing environment using a feature registry. The feature registry is used to manage feature configuration, behavior and interactions. The code base references the feature registry to apply features during operation. In this manner, features can be implemented by reference without modification or rebuilding of the code base. Features can be added, modified or removed without requiring a system upgrade, even while the code base is in operation. The code base uses a structured framework into which features can be introduced by reference using the feature registry. A feature service manager exclusively controls the feature registry and handles provisioning of features.

  • Patent number: 6275570
Abstract: A system and method for the provisioning of subscribers of a first communications network, such as a voice messaging system, to a second communications network, such as an e-mail messaging system. An exemplary system and method is described in which subscribers to a universal voice messaging system (UVMS) which handles voice and fax messages are provisioned to a message handling system (MHS) which handles e-mail messages. A message handling system provision service (MPS) provides the provisioning of the first network's subscribers to the second network. Thus, data is provisioned at a first messaging system and is forwarded to a second messaging system. Additional data for the subscriber from the second messaging system is returned to the first messaging system.
