Service Control Point (scp, Iscp, External Database) Patents (Class 379/221.09)
  • Patent number: 6421437
Abstract: A system and method performs rerouting of an incoming call to a telecommunication services subscriber to provide intelligent network services based on proprietary data about the subscriber's services. This proprietary data is within the control of the telecommunication service provider's equipment. Rerouting is performed without providing access to the proprietary data by other telecommunication service providers. Using such a system and method the subscriber's telecommunication provider can effectively provide intelligent network services without risking dissemination of that proprietary data.

Abstract: A method and system for handling a call in a communications network that requires operator assistance. The system comprises a service control point, an operator server and a context server. The operator server dynamically selects an optimal operator center from a plurality of available operator centers for the call based on context information. The operator server then provides information on the selected operator center to the service control point, which generates call handling information for the call that causes the communications network to route the call to the selected one of the operator centers. The context server manages the context information for the call.

  • Patent number: 6411699
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for routing a telephone call according to the geographic location of the originating party. A subscriber with multiple network locations within a service territory may have all of their offices accessible to customers through a single publicized telephone number. The single telephone number may trigger advanced intelligent network technology. The network may ascertain the geographic location from which the call originates and accordingly, route the originating call to a subscriber's office which is located closest to the originating caller. Further, exception periods may be provided to enable subscribers to individualize their service by only routing to the closest satellite office at specified days, times, etc. The exception periods may also be employed to reroute calls intended for the closest satellite office to a predetermined location.

  • Patent number: 6404879
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for providing a data connection between an agent and a database of a company to which a calling subscriber desires to make a contact and a speech and/or data connection between the agent and the calling A-subscriber as the A-subscriber calls to a service provider. According to the invention, the call is directed to a services switching point of an intelligent network, from which the information concerning the call called to the number is transferred to a services control point, a free agent is reserved in the services control point on basis of a table, an information is given to provide connections to the services switching point, a data connection is established from the database of the desired service provider to the agent, and a connection is established between the caller and the agent.

  • Patent number: 6381328
Abstract: A finite state machine that implements the ETSI Intelligent Network Capability Set 1 for INAP protocol using a first finite state machine connected to a second finite state machine. To accomplish this implementation, the first finite state machine receives inputs and makes initial state transition choices. Once the first finite state machine has made an initial choice, the second finite state machine checks to see if the first finite state machine has transitioned to the appropriate state and, if it has not, give feedback to the finite state machine to the appropriate state. Once the appropriate state is reached, the outputs of the first finite state machine are valid and available. The finite state machines may be realized as physical logical devices or virtually using VFSM technology.

  • Patent number: 6366661
Abstract: A telephone routing system which provides notification to subscribers that an incoming telephone call has been received. In particular, the system is directed toward subscribers who employ their telephone line in order to establish a connection over the Internet. In the situation where an incoming call is received during an Internet session, the routing system provides notification to the subscriber that the call has been received. In particular, when the incoming call is received, an interactive screen display may appear on the subscriber's computer through use of the subscriber's PC software. The subscriber may be provided a selection of options on how the call should be routed. Once the instructions are received from the subscriber, the system routes the call accordingly.

  • Patent number: 6343124
Abstract: A telephone networking system includes a database having executable programs which are equivalent to customer record programs used by a SCP. A switching device retrieves one of the executable programs from the database in response to data received by an input device, such as a telephone. The executable program is transmitted across the network to be executed by an edge device having the capability to store information and perform logical operations. For an 800/888 telephone call, the executable program instructs the edge device to request and gather additional information. The additional information is then used by the executable program to generate the POTS number which is transmitted to the switching device to complete the call.

  • Patent number: 6330324
Abstract: A method, in an advanced intelligent communications system, for routing a call based on the location of the calling party number where a telephone call to an abbreviated destination telephone number is received at a service switching point. The service switching point determines if the abbreviated destination number is a triggering number, and if so, notifies a service control point of receipt of the telephone call. The location of the calling party number is determined from location information related to the service switching point. The appropriate routing of the telephone call is determined based on the location of the calling party number. Call routing information regarding the telephone call is sent to the service switching point where the service switching point routes the telephone call to a destination number or a default announcement.
