Having A Manual Exchange Patents (Class 379/226)
  • Patent number: 9635183
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for originating a call to a wireless number by a contact center while enforcing various compliance requirements. In one embodiment, a compliance server and a PBX cooperate to originate the call to the wireless number. The agent logs into the compliance server and the compliance server provides the agent with a wireless number to dial. The agent manually enters the wireless number using a phone connected to the PBX. The PBX queries the compliance server regarding establishing the wireless call. Upon authorization, the PBX establishes a first call leg to the compliance server, and a second call leg to the called party that is joined with the call leg to the agent's phone. Upon completion of the call, the agent dispositions the call to the compliance server, which then releases the first call leg. In response, the PBX then releases the second call leg.

  • Patent number: 7738649
Abstract: A computer system 1 has a PBX 2, a terminal device 3, and a management server 4. The PBX 2 has a line controller, an extension controller 2b, an interface, a memory that stores identification information and an enciphered file, a decoder that decodes the enciphered file, a comparator that compares the identification information and the enciphered file decoded by the decoder, and a controller. The terminal device 3 reads the identification information from the PBX 2 and transmits that to the management server 4. The management server 4 has an authenticator that receives a request for authentication when the terminal device 3 logs in, an issuer that issues the enciphered file according to the identification information, and a database that stores the issue date in correlating with the identification information.

  • Patent number: 7596112
Abstract: A medium access control (MAC) entity first computes an achievable rate region based on a total transmit power limit and a channel gain of each of a plurality of WTRUs. Next, the MAC entity selects an order of DPC among the WTRUs. A rate set for use in transmitting to the WTRUs is then selected, said rate set being within the computed achievable rate region. Then, based on the selected DPC order and rate set, a DPC entity performs DPC on a plurality of data streams intended for the plurality of WTRUs. If nested lattice-based DPC is utilized, rate compatibility is achieved by selecting proper nesting ratios corresponding to a desired data rate set. Otherwise, if binary-code based DPC is utilized, rate compatibility is achieved via selecting appropriate message input sizes for input to point-to-point coding units prior to performing DPC.

  • Publication number: 20030035384
Abstract: The present invention pertains to an apparatus (and corresponding method) including both an echo cancellation module and packet loss concealment module for the processing of audio samples sent within packet data networks. The echo cancellation module serves the role of reducing echoes that may have been introduced in the audio samples. The packet loss concealment module serves the role of concealing loss of audio samples that may have occurred in the received audio samples. The echo cancellation module includes a buffer for storing recently received audio samples. This buffer provides historical data for use by both the echo cancellation module and the packet loss concealment module in performing their respective functions. The use of one data buffer (instead of separate buffers for the echo cancellation module and the packet loss concealment module) provides a resource-efficient solution, allowing the invention to be implemented in a cost-effective and size-efficient manner.

  • Patent number: 6496836
Abstract: A method using symbols to gather, store, retrieve, manipulate and report information, with attendant improvements in communication, efficiency and efficacy. A customer communication received by an organization is assigned a symbol on the basis of key words within the communication and/or a record of transaction between the customer and the organization. The communication is directed to a communication handler appropriate to the assigned symbol. Using symbols, the customer can provide inputs to the organization regarding satisfaction with the transaction; the organization can then compare these symbols with internally reported symbols to ascertain an accuracy level of the organization's perception of the transaction.
