Patent number: 7890086Abstract: To use the supplementary services of a conventional mobile communication service, such as Short Message Service (SMS) and Voice Mail System (VMS) service, there are problems in that an access method to each service must be known and several steps must be undergone. The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for sending voice messages in a mobile communication network and, more particularly, to a method and apparatus that gain access to the service providing page of the wireless Internet in such a way as to input the telephone number of a counterpart and a wireless Internet access key, and send a voice message to the counterpart.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2005Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignee: Ti Square Technology Ltd.Inventors: Gil-soo Lee, Shin Jin-soo

Patent number: 7885389Abstract: The provision of subscriber service features is one of the tasks of exchanges in classic TDM networks. This includes e.g., announcements and interactive responses. According to the prior art, these announcements and interactive responses are either provided by peripheral devices of the exchange which are equipped with the appropriate function or by external announcement and interactive response systems. The latter are provided either in TDM networks with proprietary interfaces or in packet networks with standardized interfaces. The invention solves the problem of providing the service for classic TDM networks by providing that the known packet-based method for controlling an external system for providing announcements and interactive responses is transferred to an exchange located in the classical TDM network.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2001Date of Patent: February 8, 2011Assignee: Nokia Siemens Networks GmbH & Co. Patent number: 7869772Abstract: A mobile phone use management system which manages use of the mobile phone includes the mobile phone and a signal transmitting device which transmits the signal for controlling the power supply of the mobile phone. The mobile phone having a non-contact IC card function includes a mobile phone including a power unit which executes power supply of the mobile phone, a non-contact IC card unit which can execute wireless communication with an external terminal device, a power supply control unit which executes control of switching the power supply from the power unit between a power supply stopped state and a power suppliable state based on a signal received from the non-contact IC card unit, and a transmitting unit which transmits a signal for controlling the power supply to the power supply control unit when the non-contact IC card unit receives the signal for controlling the power supply from the external terminal device.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2006Date of Patent: January 11, 2011Assignee: Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Takayuki Chikada

Publication number: 20110002451Abstract: A method of indexing recordings of contact center communication sessions is described. The method allows for a recording to be indexed with metadata reflecting a time-varying characteristic of one or more of the parties of the communications session, e.g. the mood of a caller, the current location of a caller. The indexing of recordings with such information allows for more granular search of recordings, in order to find particular call conditions. This can be useful from the point of view of education and training of new call center operatives, and for assessment of call center performance.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2009Publication date: January 6, 2011Applicant: Nortel Networks LimitedInventors: Thomas Moran, David Murray, John Costello

Patent number: 7865205Abstract: A mobile station has a plurality of modes for processing incoming push-to-talk (PTT) audio communications. A first PTT mode is a “forced audio” mode, in which the mobile station plays PTT audio communications automatically. A second PTT mode is a “polite” mode, in which the mobile station plays PTT audio communications only after acceptance by the user. A “white list” identifies any parties that are allowed to communicate with the mobile station using the first PTT mode. A PTT audio communication from an initiator that is not identified in the white list is processed using the second PTT mode, even if the first PTT mode is requested. In addition, a PTT audio communication may be processed using the second PTT mode if the mobile station's speaker volume level is below a threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2007Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Assignee: Sprint Spectrum L.P.Inventors: Michael T Lundy, Louie E Wingo, Harry H Lai, Daniel J Cureton

Publication number: 20100329435Abstract: A system and method for processing a call to a destination associated with multiple group members in a unified messaging system by determining a prioritized order of the group members for presentation to caller and receiving a selection from the caller. The order of the group members can be determined based on call histories, address books, and distribution lists of the calling party and the group members of the destination. A weighted score is computed for each group member, and the group members are sorted based on the weighted scores. The sorted list of group members is then presented to the calling party for selection. Based on the calling party's selection the unified messaging system can further process the call.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 25, 2009Publication date: December 30, 2010Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Mehrad Yasrebi, James Jackson
