Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for modifying messages transmitted between a first computing device and a second computing device based on the determination of a context of messages transmitted between the first and second computing devices. A first message, prepared to be transmitted to a second computing device, is prepared at a first computing device. Based on an identifier corresponding to the second computing device, a plurality of devices communicably coupled to the second computing device are determined. Selectable options are generated at the first computing device which, when selected, determine which of the second computing device or one of the plurality of communicably coupled devices will receive the transmitted message. Based on the selection of an option, the message may be modified to fit the format of the device corresponding to the selected option and transmitted to the device corresponding to the selected option.

Abstract: A method and system for synchronization data across applications installed on mobile and desktop devices and remote server uses a mail server. The data to be sent to applications is included in electronic message body or attachment and sent to a predefined email account. The email account is processed via listener applications according to a processing rule such as sender's email address, sender's domain, header information, or metadata. When an email matches the rule, an action is triggered that acquires data from attachment of email or body and updates local storage.

Abstract: Systems, methods, articles of manufacture, and computer-readable media. A server may receive a phone call and generate a uniform resource locator (URL) comprising a session identifier for an account. The server may transmit the URL to a client device. The server may receive, from a web browser, a request comprising the URL. The server may determine that the session identifier in the URL of the request matches the session identifier for the account, and transmit, to the web browser, a web page at the URL. The server may receive, from the web browser, a cryptogram read by the web page via a card reader of the client device and decrypt the cryptogram. The server may authenticate the identity of the caller for the call based on decrypting the cryptogram and the session identifier of the URL matching the session identifier of the account.

In one example method, a message server adds a first attribute tag for some group members in a group. Based on the first attribute tag, the message server creates a first subgroup consisting of the some group members. The message server receives a subgroup message including the first attribute tag, and the message server determines the first subgroup based on the first attribute tag. The message server then forwards the subgroup message to the determined first subgroup.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to threat detection, and more particularly, to techniques for analyzing security events using dynamic policies and displaying a consolidated view of active threats and user activity including the dynamic policies being triggered by the active threats and user activity. Some aspects are directed to the concept of a policy bus for injecting and communicating the dynamic policies to multiple enforcement entities and the ability of the entities to respond to the policies dynamically. Other aspects are directed providing a consolidated view of active threat categories, a count of policies being triggered for each threat category, and associated trends. Yet other aspects are directed to providing a consolidated view of users, applications being accessed by users, and the access policies, if any, implicated by the such accesses.

A control device functions as a detector, a controller, and a releaser. When an operation device receives a request for registration of new registered data, the detector detects the number of the one-touch key satisfying a release condition. The controller displays the number of the one-touch key satisfying the condition in association with the name of the registered data corresponding to the number on a display device. The releaser registers data corresponding to a selected number of a one-touch key among numbers of one-touch keys satisfying the condition and a name of the registered data, in association with an unregistered number of a one-touch key, and releases a one-touch key having a number assigned to the registered data and the name of the data.

Abstract: A discussion thread is associated with a master recipients list that is maintained at an author's computer or a server computer. The recipients list is revised as participants in the discussion are added to and/or removed from the discussion. An author is notified when target recipients do not match the master recipients list. When a participant is added to the discussion from an old discussion instance, a thread manager provides for the added participant to receive a more current discussion instance.

Aspects include receiving communication data associated with an electronic communication, wherein the communication data includes textual data, analyzing attachment data associated with an attachment to the electronic communication, comparing the communication data to the attachment data to determine a relevancy score, and based on the relevancy score, enacting an action for the electronic communication.

Abstract: Processing electronic mail includes receiving an electronic mail having a read receipt request and determining, using a processor, that the electronic mail includes a read receipt distribution list. The read receipt distribution list specifies at least one sender-defined user including a subset of at least one recipient of the electronic mail. Using the processor, a read receipt is sent to the sender of the electronic mail and to each user specified on the read receipt distribution list responsive to detecting an opening of the electronic mail by at least one recipient of the electronic mail.

Abstract: A method for displaying messages is disclosed. The method includes: displaying, on a display of an electronic device, a message thread listing view; while the message thread listing view is displayed, detecting a selection of one of the message threads; displaying a menu overlaying the message thread listing view, the menu including a user interface element associated with at least a reply-to-all action; detecting a selection of the user interface element associated with the reply-to-all action; and in response to detecting the selections of the message thread and the user interface element: automatically identifying an appropriate email message from the selected message thread based on at least a number of recipients of the appropriate message, wherein the appropriate message was received before at least one other message in the selected message thread; and replacing the message thread listing view with a message composition view for composing a reply-to-all message.

Abstract: An approach for securing sensitive information in communication data is provided. In an embodiment, communication data is received from an ongoing communication (e.g., phone conversation, exchange of text messages, etc.) between a user and at least one other person. Contextual input is derived based on the content of the communication data and historical data from one or more external sources. A sensitivity index score for each element (e.g., portion) of the communication data is derived based on an assessment of the contextual input. The elements of the communication data having a sensitivity index score greater than a predefined threshold value are deemed to be security sensitive and, therefore, are encoded prior to transmission to its intended recipient.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a first mail transfer agent having a first spool, an electronic mail. The computer-implemented method further includes issuing, by the first mail transfer agent, a first unique identifier to be associated with the electronic mail. The computer-implemented method further includes holding the electronic mail in the first spool for a first predetermined period of time. The computer-implemented method further includes transferring the electronic mail from the first spool to a second mail transfer agent having a second spool. The computer-implemented method further includes issuing, by the second mail transfer agent, a second unique identifier to be associated with the electronic mail. The computer-implemented method further includes holding the electronic mail in the second spool for a second predetermined period of time.

Abstract: An instant messaging method and system, and an electronic apparatus are provided. An instant messaging interface is activated in the electronic apparatus. A preview area is added to the instant messaging interface after the instant messaging interface triggers an edit mode. After one of message contents in the instant messaging interface is determined to be selected as an edited target, a message content object corresponding to the selected edited target is displayed in the preview area of the instant messaging interface. A touch operation corresponding to the edited target is received in the instant messaging interface, and attribute data is generated based the touch operation. The message content object corresponding to the selected edited target is adjusted in the preview area based on the attribute data.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for generating and/or transmitting dynamic electronic mail messages, which can include content that is generated at the time the email message is opened. In some cases, an email message will include a reference to a resource on a server, and a standard email client can request that resource with the reference, either automatically or upon prompting by the user. Based on the nature of the request, a number of properties or characteristics of the request (and/or of the circumstances under which the email message is opened or loaded for display) can be derived or identified. Further, demographic information about the recipient can be identified. Based on these characteristics and/or demographic information, customized content can be generated and transmitted for display, e.g., in body of the electronic message.

The memory stores instructions executed by the processor to store identity attributes including real identity attributes for a real individual and at least two sets of digital identity attributes each operative as a personal privacy proxy with compartmental identity attributes. The at least two sets of digital identity attributes include a first machine generated digital identity email address associated with a first role and a second machine generated digital identity email address associated with a second role.

Abstract: A method may include receiving an outbound communication directed to one or more recipient addresses from a communications infrastructure hosting the true address for the user. A server or similar intermediary may generate an alias address for each recipient address in an outbound communication so that each recipient may communicate with the true address using a unique reply channel. A discrete security state may be assigned as a security attribute to each such alias address. The discrete security state, which can be controlled by the user and stored, e.g., at the intermediate server, establishes rules for controlling communications from one of the recipient addresses through the communications infrastructure to the true address via one of the alias addresses. Once an alias and a security state are assigned in this manner to facilitate handling of responsive communications, the outbound communication may be forwarded to recipient addresses through the communication network.

Abstract: A method for replicating data in a cloud storage system supporting multiple clients, wherein the cloud storage system comprises a plurality of object storing entities (A, B, C) for storing data objects, includes requesting, by a client, values and associated timestamps for a first data object from a first quorum of the object storing entities (A, B, C). The method further includes determining, by the client, a most recent value of the first data object based on the associated timestamps. The method additionally includes performing, by the client, a compare-and-swap procedure, so that the determined value and its corresponding timestamp for the first data object updates the first data object with a value with a newer timestamp and stores the first data object in a second quorum of the object storing entities (A, B, C).

Abstract: A method of verifying identity information is performed at a computer server using a social networking application. The computer server receives an identity verification request from a first terminal. The first terminal is associated with a first account of the social networking application and the identity verification request includes information of a verification code and a second account of the social networking application. The computer server then forwards information of the verification code to a second terminal associated with the second account of the social networking application. Upon receipt of a response from the second terminal, the computer server establishes a relationship between the first account and the second account after verification of the response from the second terminal using the verification code such that the second terminal can interact with the first terminal through the social networking application.

For example, one disclosed method for creating a customized digital publication comprises receiving, at an application builder executed by a processor, a digital publication application shell comprising an application programming interface (API), the digital publication application shell specifying standard functionality or appearance features for a digital publication application, and custom feature code specifying a custom feature based at least in part on a reference to the API of the digital publication shell, and producing the digital publication application based at least in part on the digital publication application shell and the custom feature code, wherein the digital publication application comprises at least some of the standard functionality or appearance features specified by the digital publication application shell and the custom feature specified by the custom feature code.

Usual slide show is played on display of digital photo frame and replaced by a special image when a speaker of digital photo frame plays a ringer melody. The special image relates to a person causing the ringer melody. An operation at the wireless phone unit is transmitted to the digital photo frame through the short-range wireless communication to change the special image back to the usual slide show. Upon receipt of e-mail with image data attached, cellar phone automatically but conditionally opens the e-mail and takes out the image data to transmit it to digital photo frame through the short-range wireless communication or direct contact with battery charger.

The system's decision about whether to respond automatically to subsequent messages sent to the recipient may vary as the recipient's context changes. Abstract: An approach for managing printing requests of a computer printing system is provided. In one aspect, the approach comprises a computing printing system receiving a printing request based on parameters of a printing request data. The approach further comprises the computing printing system determining printing alternatives for the printing request based on the printing request data. In addition, the computing printing system detects if the printing request can be archived in an email repository or transmitted to a mobile device of the requestor based on the printing alternatives. A core identifier is generated for uniquely identifying a user among a plurality of users within the communication system. One or more specific identifiers are derived based upon the core identifier, wherein the specific identifiers serve as addressing information to the respective communication modes. The specific identifiers and the core identifier are designated as a suite of identifiers allocated to the user.

Abstract: A subscriber to a universal point of contact service designates a preferred point of contact at which a communication initiator, such as a telephone caller, can contact the subscriber. Such an initiator desiring to contact the subscriber uses the subscriber's email address to establish a communication session with a device associated with the subscriber's preferred point of contact. The subscriber's email address is input to an initiating device, preferably a telephone or facsimile machine, using an entry device capable of entering an email address. A requestor unit, receiving the email address, locates a repository of the subscriber's point of contact information, and requests that information. The repository sends the point of contact information the subscriber has designated as preferred, and the requestor unit uses that information to control a telephone switch to establish a communication session between the initiating device and the subscriber's preferred point of contact device.
