Abstract: A benthic barrier in which a polygonal shaped mat having straight sides is mounted on a similarly polygonal frame, but in which the frame sides bow out slightly between corners, causing the mat to stretch slightly and become taut. The frame comprises a plurality of straight leg members and a number of corner members as required by said polygonal shape. The corner members encompass interior angles which are from about 1 to about 5 degrees greater than the interior angle of the polygon defined by the straight sides of the mat. The frame member legs are rigid, but slightly flexible such that when assembled into the mat as an assembled frame, the straight legs are forced to bow out slightly between the corners, pulling the mat taut.

Abstract: Ironing board attachment apparatus for use on conventional ironing boards comprising a laterally movable extension arm positioned adjacent one side of the ironing board which can move laterally towards or away from the board, the arm comprising an arcuate surface in cross-section for support of fabric being ironed. The extension arm being supported by a mounting bracket supporting the extension arm in a cantilevered manner to the ironing board and a pair of shoulder arms, one positioned on each side of the ironing board in juxtaposed relation to the sides of the board; the shoulder arms including a radius portion in cross-section similar to the extension arm and a bracket for each shoulder arm mountable on the ironing board sides permitting sliding longitudinal movement of each shoulder arm.

Abstract: An ironing table and container support ensemble comprises an ironing board movably mounted to leg stands to support the board in a first working position for ironing items on the board and fold with the board to a second folded position. A support movably mounts relative to the leg stands and to the board so that the support moves between a first position beneath the board and a second position to be closer to the board. A container secured to the support has a wall structure that forms a chamber for containing items in a first extended position. In a second position, the container structure occupies less space than in the first container position. The container having a shape and size to rest upon the support when the support and board are in their first positions to place items within the container.

Abstract: An ironing board having a table with a top surface to carry out ironing functions and opposing first and second sides bisected by a longitudinal axis and a frame extending form the table for supporting the table above a support surface is provided. The frame extends from the table between the first side and longitudinal axis and defines an open area beneath the table that is sized to receive a person seated in a chair to permit the person to carry out ironing functions on the top surface while sitting. The ironing board also includes a drying rack having a plurality of rungs slidably disposed on the table. A laundry sorter is suspended from the table and includes a receptacle with a plurality of dividers dividing the receptacle into a plurality of compartments.

Abstract: A foldable ironing board including forward and aft support legs which are foldable with respect to an ironing table. A lower rack is mounted to the support legs below the ironing table and includes two rack portions which are each pivotally connected to one of the support legs. The pivotal attachment permits each rack portion to rotate with respect to its attached support leg. The rack portions are telescopically attached to one another so as to permit displacement therebetween when the support legs scissor apart during folding. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the telescopic interconnection between the rack portions includes three rod members extending from one rack portion which slidably engage with complimentary cylindrical tubes formed on the other rack portion. The present invention also contemplates an upper rack slidably attached to the ironing table near its heel through rails slidably disposed within rail guides located on the bottom of the ironing table.

Abstract: A workstation tray device for easy connection with a plurality of collapsible ironing board configurations, for temporary but secure storage of containers of compositions applied to articles being ironed, in hinged cooperation for retractable storage in connection with the ironing board without being detached therefrom. The device consisting of a tray member of resilient material for attachment to a ironing board by fingers for receiving a hinged adjustable collar for clamping to one ironing board leg, and by two support arms each movably attached, at one end by a bolt to the flat end of the board member, and at the other end to a bracket attached to the tray such that the shelf is horizontally disposed under the board in convenient close proximity having adequate clearance for storage of items, all without interfering with the legs and feet of the operator. The arms have arch members hingeably attached to strut to cooperate with the tray.

Abstract: An ironing board apparatus includes an ironing board member mounted on a pedestal. The ironing board member has a main portion and a foldaway corner portion pivotally connected to the main portion by a hinge. A retractable sleeveboard is connected to the ironing board member for movement into position with respect to the ironing board. A flat iron tray is retractably mounted to the ironing board, as well as a laundry tray which is pivotally connected to the ironing board member.
