  • Patent number: 8141279
Abstract: A steam ironing device (10) provides an ionized steam output using an ionizing arrangement (30). The ionization process, in particular the high energy electric discharge used for ionization, breaks down steam particles into finer particles. As a result, a greater proportion of the steam particles generated can penetrate into the fabric of the garment being ironed, to improve fabric treatment and fabric moistening. Air ionization can also be used. The ionization process is improved by limiting the temperature of the steam.

Abstract: An ironing appliance (1) comprises an ironing device such as a steam iron and an ironing board (11) for supporting articles (2) to be ironed. In the ironing board (11), Radio Frequency Identification readers (41) are arranged, which serve for identifying the fabric type of the articles (2) to be ironed, which are provided with a tag (45) containing this information. The ironing board (11) has a heater (16) for heating the articles to be ironed, and is also adapted to supplying steam to these articles. In an ironing process of a given article, the characteristics of the supply of steam and the temperature of the heater (16) are determined on the basis of the information obtained from the tag (45) of the article by the readers (41). Due to the fact that the readers (41) are arranged in the ironing board (11), the identification process and the process of determining appropriate ironing settings take place in a fast and accurate manner.

Abstract: An adjustable ironing table (10) includes a top board (12) and collapsible legs (22,24). A housing (46) has a vertical wall (48) extending perpendicularly relative to the top board (12) and a horizontal wall (50). The vertical wall (48) includes an opening (52) for guiding a control element (36) through the housing (46). The horizontal wall (50) includes a slot (54). A plate (44) extends through the slot (54). A compression spring (42) is retained by the control element (36) between the vertical wall (48) and the plate (44), the spring (42) pivoting the plate (44) relative to the slot (54) to engage the control element (36). The top board (12) includes a peripheral flange (20) having an outwardly curled periphery (78). The top board (12) further includes flat stretched portions (16) extending along the length of the top board (12). One of the legs (22) is connected by a base member (92) to guide rails (74), the base member (92) having four point containment of the guide rails (74).

  • Patent number: 4536978
Abstract: A steam ironing machine includes an ironing board, a steam generator to convey steam to a steam iron, a heater for the ironing board, a suction device to remove residual moisture from ironed clothes. The ironing board is rotatably mounted by hinges with respect to a support element between two positions, i.e. a work position where the board is horizontally disposed and a rest position where the board is vertically disposed. The ironing board rotates from the work position to the rest position with the board tip directed toward and adjacent the support. Rotational movement of the ironing board in both directions is controlled by shock absorbers which aid the operator in achieving this rotation movement and at the same time absorb stresses resulting from this rotational movement.

  • Patent number: 4480556
Abstract: A folding ironing board including a mounting mechanism for mounting the ironing board to a wall or other support. The mounting mechanism includes pivotally connected support and control members for permitting folding movement of the ironing board between a generally horizontal use position and a generally vertical storage position adjacent the wall. Height control arms pivotally connect from the wall to the control arms and can be pivoted by releasing latch members to move the ironing board between two separate working heights, with the support members pivoting accordingly. A turntable or other pivot mounts the ironing board to the mounting mechanism to permit adjustment of angular orientation in the use position.

  • Patent number: 4442616
Abstract: An ironing table has a hollow table top (1) and a blower (11) arranged thereunder. The blower is connected to the table by a pivotable buffle (25), a helical housing (14), and a fixed orifice (12) located in a bottom section of said table. The top of the housing includes a suction orifice (12) and a pressure orifice (13). The blower and its housing are supported on rails (20) and may be displaced between two positions where the blower either applies a pressure or suction force to the surface of the table.

  • Patent number: 4372065
Abstract: A pressing table has a main pressing surface element and a pivotable additional pressing table surface element, and a blower capable of applying suction or blowing action selectively to one or other of the pressing table surface portions. Change over from suction to blowing is achieved by the action of the blower fan discharge air in response to triggering by a solenoid thruster, and the blowing action is held on by the airstream until the blower fan stops. Selection of the additional pressing table surface element for the blowing or suction action is automatic in response to pivoting of the additional element from a rest position to an operative position.
