Abstract: A method and device allowing the items of laundry which are to be ironed to enter the ironer gap in a manner directed downwards. For this purpose, the inlet region is preferably arranged below the outlet region. The invention ensures a disturbance-free and crease-free entry of items of laundry to be ironed into the band ironer. In the case of band ironers, the inlet region, and outlet region have to lie tightly together in order to bring about as large a wrapping angle of the ironer body by means of the ironer band as possible. This makes the inlet of items of laundry to be ironed into the ironer gap emerging from the inlet region problematic. This invention described herein provides a solution to this problem.
Abstract: An improved ironer chest for an ironing device, wherein said ironer chest is of a double-walled design and has an inner wall (1) and an outer wall (2), between which a chamber (3) extends through which a medium can flow, in which one or more elements (4) which increase heat transfer are arranged adjacent to the inner wall (1), and wherein the ironer chest comprises a partition wall (6) which is provided with passage openings (7) and which divides the chamber (3) into a first chamber (9) which contains the one or more elements (4) which increase heat transfer and a second chamber (5), adjacent to the outer wall (2), which is free from said elements (4) which increase heat transfer. In addition, the present invention relates to an ironing device comprising such an ironer chest.

Abstract: A belt transport system for conveying thin sheet material, in which the sheet material is engaged by one side of a conveyor belt and one side of at least one baffle plate and conveyed in a clamped state through a clamping area. The system includes smoothing elements having smoothing surfaces disposed on the opposite side of the belt from the sheet side, the smoothing elements being disposed in such a way that bent parts or dog-ears of the sheet material protruding beyond the conveyor belt to its opposite side run into the smoothing element during transport and are thereby urged away from the clamping area of the belt.

Abstract: A drying and ironing device for a textile element includes in addition to a conventional drying and ironing system, an integral folding device. The folding device comprises a folding blade which is mounted to pivot in a reciprocating manner on a support moved by an electrical jack, below and flush with either side of the textile element hanging down under the effect of gravity on discharge from the drying and ironing system. An infrared transmitter-receiver cell detects the beginning and the end of this textile element and an electronic device generates and counts "pips" triggered by this cell. The folding device also includes an arrangement for gripping and removing the folded textile element.
Abstract: An ironing machine having two rolls whose axes extend essentially horizontally and are disposed in a common, substantially vertical plane. The rolls can be rotated in opposite rotational directions by means of a drive device. For each roll there are provided two heating elements arranged at different sides of the aforementioned plane. The heating elements have heating surfaces of arcuate cross-sectional configuration. These heating surfaces heating the textile pieces during operation of the ironing machine and pressing such against the rolls. Transport bands or belts serve to guide and transport the textile pieces in such a manner that initially they travel about one and thereafter about the other roll and, thus, follow a predetermined transport path substantially in the form of a figure eight through the ironing machine.
