  • Patent number: 10701293
    Abstract: A method for compensating for off-axis tilting of a lens relative to an image sensor in an image acquisition device comprises acquiring a set of calibrated parameters n ? ? ( n x n y n z ) corresponding to the tilting of said lens. P?x and P?y indicate a coordinate of a pixel in an acquired image. Image information is mapped from the acquired image to a lens tilt compensated image according to the formulae: P x ? = s n z ? ( n z - 1 ) ? ( ( n x 2 + n z ? ( n z - 1 ) ) ? u x + n x ? n y ? u y ) P y ? = s n z ? ( n z - 1 ) ? ( ( n y 2 + n z ? ( n z - 1 ) ) ? u y + n x ? n y ? u x ) where s comprises a scale factor given by s = n z u x ? n x + u y ? n y + n z and where ux and uy indicate the location of a pixel in the lens tilt compensated image.

Each of the smaller cameras is aimed in a different direction in order to provide a wider angle and higher resolution field of view (FOV) for the resulting composite camera. Images captured by all of the cameras in the array can be stitched together using software to produce a single composite photograph. This construction method can enable the camera unit to be thinner and potentially cheaper in construction costs than an equivalent single-piece camera that has been conventionally implemented in portable devices.

  • Patent number: 9193173
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preventing the illegitimate exit of a printed document by applying a security material. The apparatus includes an exit registration unit, a security printer unit, an exit management server unit, and an illegitimate exit detection unit. The exit registration unit generates information about the printed document of an electronic document, and sends the information to register the information about the printed document. The security printer unit prints the content and security identifier of the electronic document, and generates a secure printed document by applying a security material. The exit management server unit records and determines whether the secure printed document has been exited. The illegitimate exit detection unit detects the security material of the secure printed document, generates an exit warning, analyzes the security identifier, and determines whether the secure printed document is to be exited.

Abstract: A device is described for the hiding and subsequent recovery of visual information. The device comprises two or more tokens (1), each containing a mask (2,3) of coloured pixels (4), are overlaid (5), so that when the pixels are aligned, hidden information, invisible in the individual tokens. The hidden information consists of one or more recognisable alphabetic, numerical or pictorial characters (6). During token overlay and alignment, the information becomes recognisable because it is made up of pixels whose colour is differentiated from the other pixels in the overlay. The information is hidden by adding pixels of certain colours. When the tokens are overlaid and the pixels aligned, the added pixels are effectively subtracted, revealing the hidden information. The tokens may be printed on various media, or may be displayed on an electronic device.

Abstract: This invention provides an instantaneous method for a user or traveler to obtain a meaning of a symbol that is unfamiliar to said user. The symbol is captured in a format that is easily transmitted to a remote database server. Together with the symbol, the GPS coordinates of the location of the symbol must be sent to the server. The server performs an image matching search, and then uses the location information (GPS) to resolve multiple matches and to determine the meaning of the symbol and instantaneously transmits in the language of their choice the meaning to the user requesting the search.
