Abstract: Intra-concha earphones are disclosed. In an embodiment, an intra-concha earphone includes a housing having a rear space divided into a back volume, a bass duct, and a vent chamber between a driver and a rear wall. The vent chamber may be acoustically coupled with the back volume through both an acoustic port and the bass duct. Furthermore, the vent chamber may be acoustically coupled with a surrounding environment through a vent port, which may be a sole acoustic opening in the rear wall. Thus, sound emitted by the driver may propagate through the acoustic port and the bass duct to meet in the vent chamber before being discharged through the vent port to the surrounding environment. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Abstract: An acoustic device with an enclosure and a first passive radiator structure which includes a first passive radiator diaphragm. The first passive radiator structure has an effective radiating area and a first mass, and is mounted to the enclosure such that its diaphragm can vibrate relative to the enclosure. There is a second passive radiator structure which includes a second passive radiator diaphragm. The second passive radiator structure has substantially the same effective radiating area as the first passive radiator structure, and is mounted to the enclosure such that its diaphragm can vibrate relative to the enclosure. At least one active electro-acoustic transducer is mounted to the second passive radiator structure such that it moves when the diaphragm vibrates. The second passive radiator structure and the active transducer together have a second mass that is substantially greater than the mass of the first passive radiator structure.

Abstract: An acoustic unit, which is arranged for coupling with a vibration system to produce an audio sound, includes a frame, a vibration member for being reciprocatingly moved in response to the vibration system; and a resilient suspension which is provided around the vibration member and is located between the vibration member and the frame, wherein the suspension has a stretching section integrally extended from the vibration member and a cushioning section integrally extended from the stretching section to the frame. The cushioning section only allows the stretching section to displace along a direction the same as a vibration direction of the vibration member to restrict a vibrating movement of the vibration member. The acoustic unit is incorporated with an acoustic module, wherein when a loudspeaker of the acoustic module operates, the acoustic unit synchronously vibrates to provide an enhanced low frequency audio effect.

  • Patent number: 9398356
Abstract: A loudspeaker (130) comprises an electro-acoustic transducer such as a loudspeaker driver (135) mounted to a housing. The housing has side walls (132) subjected to a compressive force by bolts (50), which may extend between rigid end plates (133, 134). The side walls may be formed by a stack of plates. The housing defines a recess such that when the loudspeaker driver (135) is mounted in the housing, there is a cavity behind the loudspeaker driver (135). Such a housing may be used for a range of different electro-acoustic transducers. The compressive force suppresses resonance and improves performance of the electro-acoustic transducer.

Abstract: An external-magnet-type magnetic circuit includes an iron core and at least one composite magnet coaxially mounted around the iron core. The composite magnet has two magnetic poles with field directions thereof substantially perpendicular to each other, wherein one of the magnetic poles has the field direction thereof pointing to the iron core, and a magnetism-guiding plate being deposited on the other magnetic pole of the composite magnet and being separated from the iron core by a magnetic gap. Thereby, the composite magnet provides high magnetic flux density in relatively small volume, without the additional use of any magnetism-guiding yokes, and thus is particularly suitable for small-size amplifiers where it helps to improve acoustic sensitivity and acoustic output performance.
