Abstract: An electric operation apparatus capable of opening interiors of front and rear portions of an apparatus main body frontward and rearward to make it easy to carry out assembly and maintenance inside the main body. Front and rear pivot shafts are provided on inner side surfaces of side plates of the main body so as to extend in the left-right direction of the main body. Front and rear panels are openable and closable relative to the main body by being pivoted about the pivot shafts, with their engagement recesses in engagement with the pivot shafts. The front and rear panels cover the main body when they are in closed states, and open the interior of the main body when they are in open states. The front panel is opened by being pivoted rearward, whereas the rear panel is opened by being pivoted forward.

Abstract: A duct design and methods for designing ducts are described herein. The duct has a profile described by an equation that balances momentum of the fluid flowing through the duct with an adverse pressure gradient. The duct profile is configured to: (i) maintain the fluid's momentum to be greater than the adverse pressure gradient present at any location within the duct, such that no boundary layer separation occurs; and (ii) achieve a fluid exit momentum of approximately zero.

Abstract: A microphone mounting assembly (800A/800b) include one or more transducers (801) mounted to a printed circuit board (PCB) (805) where a spacer (803) is used having a channel (807) positioned on the PCB (805) for allowing acoustical energy to pass through the channel (807) to a port (809) in the PCB (805). A first cover (811) is positioned over the channel (807) for disrupting the direct encounter with airflow into the channel (807) while a top section (813) having a second cover (815) is further positioned adjacent to the first fabric cover (811) for preventing debris from obstructing the first fabric cover (811).

Abstract: An improved speaker in which a single electro-acoustic driver is mounted in a sound emitter cabinet with a spheroidal rear acoustic emitter wall, with the driver face exposed and mounted on a driver-mounting face of the cabinet and the driver body enclosed in the spheroid cabinet. The spheroidal rear emitter wall is spaced from and surrounds the driver body to receive the back wave and to responsively emit audible, clear sound from the cabinet wall to the surrounding listening area in complement to the primary sound wave from the driver face. The speaker cabinet is rigidly supported via the driver-mounting face such that the spheroidal rear emitter wall is suspended in air out of contact with surrounding surfaces.

Abstract: A narrow profile speaker unit comprises at least one speaker outputting sound towards an internal surface and through a duct with an output terminus, such as a slot, having a narrow dimension, effectively changing the cross-section of the speaker's audio output wave. A pair of speakers may face one another, outputting sound towards a common output slot. Multiple pairs of speakers may be used to form an inline speaker unit for increased sound output. A slotted speaker unit may include multiple speakers facing the same direction, towards a ground plane or reflecting surface, and having parallel apertures for allowing sound radiation. The speaker units may be integral with or attached to electronic appliances such as desktop computers or flatscreen devices, or may be used in automobiles or other contexts.
