The diaphragm (101, 103) is arranged such that a part of the diaphragm (103) at least partly forms a cavity (113) at the second side and an air conduit (115) is coupled to the cavity (113). The air conduit (115) has a first opening (117) into the cavity and a second opening (119) outside the cavity (113). The air conduit (115) and cavity (113) form a resonator which has a resonance frequency that is less than half a free air acoustic resonance frequency of the audio driver. The invention may allow simultaneous sound production and an acoustic air flow generation while maintaining an efficient decoupling between the two functionalities.

Abstract: A speaker system includes a cabinet, a front baffle, a speaker unit, a rear baffle, and a fitting member fitted in the rear baffle. The front baffle includes a front duct segment extending backward from the rear thereof. The rear baffle includes an opening portion, a duct connecting portion, and a receiving portion having a semicircular cross section. The receiving portion extends from the opening portion to the duct connecting portion while protruding backward. The opening portion, the receiving portion, and the duct connecting portion have a groove. The receiving portion has an engagement hole. The fitting member having a semicircular cross section is formed by double molding. The frame of the member is made of relatively rigid resin and the rim thereof is made of relatively flexible resin. The frame has an engagement projection. The receiving portion and the fitting member constitute a sealed rear duct segment.

Abstract: A film-type audio output apparatus includes an audio output device, at least one speaker unit, and at least one film. The at least one speaker unit is positioned at any side of the audio output device. The speaker unit can be an embedded speaker unit. The at least one film can be positioned at any or more places of an inner side and an outer side of the audio output device. When the speaker unit of the audio output device releases sound, the film positioned on the audio output device can get vibration of the sound so that the inside of the audio output device can generate resonance. Thus, the audio output apparatus can generate softer undertone and wider diapason.

Abstract: An acoustic system is described for accurately reproducing sound. The acoustic system generally includes driver which produces a plurality of higher frequency pressure waves at larger amplitudes and produces lower frequency pressure waves at smaller amplitudes. A passage is provided which serves as an amplifier and resonator for the lower frequency pressure waves. Accordingly, the system accurately reproduces a large range of higher and lower frequency sounds.

Abstract: Offset baffles are provided in a speaker for acoustic signal arrival synchronization. The speaker includes an enclosure. The enclosure includes a first side positioned at an angle with respect to a horizontal axis or plane. The first side includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion and the lower portion are offset from one another by a first offset in a first direction and a second offset in a second direction. The first offset in the first direction and the second offset in the second direction define a vent extending across a width of the first side. The vent is positioned above a low-frequency transducer and below a high-frequency transducer. The low-frequency transducer is mounted to the lower portion and generates a first acoustic signal within a first frequency range. The high-frequency transducer is mounted to the upper portion and generates a second acoustic signal within a second frequency range.
