Publication number: 20030091202Abstract: A knockdown speaker mainly comprises a magnetic circuit base, a casing, and a vibration unit. The magnetic circuit base is substantially a hollow body having a projecting cylinder at center and a plurality of fixing holes in its top rim. The vibration unit is composed of a funnel-like cone socket and a damper set, which are formed by combining a bottom end and a top end of the vibration unit respectively with a sound ring set or a piece of drum paper. The magnetic circuit base is mounted on the bottom rim of the casing. The vibration unit is jointed with the magnetic circuit base via the sound ring set arranged at the bottom end of the vibration unit to form a consolidated knockdown speaker.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2001Publication date: May 15, 2003Inventor: Yen-Chen Chan

Patent number: 6535612Abstract: An electroacoustic transducer which has at least one stator member with an operating surface and a suspended emitter diaphragm spaced from the operating surface of the stator member to enable the diaphragm to oscillate in response to an applied signal voltage. The diaphragm has increased stiffness in a direction along the diaphragm and within the emitter section to enable the emitter diaphragm to oscillate without applying tension in the direction of stiffness. A clamp member secures the diaphragm to maintain the diaphragm in a fixed position relative to the stator to minimize distortion. The clamp member is positioned to define at least two isolated emitter sections for enhancing the frequency response of the transducer. A method is also provided for generating audio output from an electroacoustic transducer.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1999Date of Patent: March 18, 2003Assignee: American Technology CorporationInventors: James J. Publication number: 20030048917Abstract: This invention is directed a combination of a speaker base and a mounting bracket that secures a speaker enclosure to either a horizontal surface or a vertical surface. The mounting bracket may be adapted to couple to a wall and releaseably to the speaker base. The speaker base may be adapted to pivotally couple to the speaker enclosure so depending on whether the speaker base is mounted onto wall or table, the speaker enclosure may be pivoted into a desired position.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2001Publication date: March 13, 2003Applicant: Harman International Industries IncorporatedInventors: Pedro Manrique, David Wathen, Eli Harary

Publication number: 20030048918Abstract: An acoustic transducer is secured to a plate having a front side and a back side. The transducer has an outer body with a front portion and rear portion and is sized to entirely fit inside an electrical gang box. A front-to-back enlarged opening in the plate is sized to receive the front portion of the transducer body. The transducer is secured to the plate so that the front portion is located within the front-to-back opening of the plate and is generally flush with the front side of the plate and most of the transducer body including the rear portion extends behind the plate into the gang box.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2001Publication date: March 13, 2003Inventors: Geoffrey M.
