    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a speaker, including a holder, a magnetic circuit unit and a vibration unit arranged in the holder, the vibration unit comprises a suspension fixed at the holder, a dome fixed at a center of the suspension and a voice coil connected to the dome, the dome is provided with recesses formed by recessing from the dome towards the magnetic circuit unit, a spacing is formed between at least two of the recesses, and the voice coil abuts against bottom walls of the recesses and forms a leakage passage with the dome at the spacing. The leakage passage enables a difference of internal and external air pressures of the voice coil to be effectively reduced after an amplitude of the vibration unit is increased; the voice coil becomes short and thick, and thus a magnetic flux is increased and structural strength of the dome itself is improved.

The method and system use mechanical movement, which is continuous by nature since there is no quantization in the different positions a moving object can assume between two spacial points, to construct the signal approximation between digital samples. The magnetic-piezoelectric armature uses a highly sensitive piezoelectric material that moves a magnet in the proximity of a wire coil to induce a voltage signal reproducing the original analog signal. The piezoelectric material expands and contracts following the changes in voltage between digital samples which induces a corresponding continuous analog voltage signal in the coil.

A control signal is generated by applying an input audio signal (115) to the collective operations of a gain control system (100). The gain control system (100) uses the input audio signal (115) in conjunction with at least one parameter to derive an estimated stress associated with the loudspeaker (144). The estimated stress is compared with a protection threshold stress (127). If the protection threshold stress is exceeded, a gain applied by a gain component (134) is selectively adjusted to modify the input audio signal (115). The resulting gain-controlled audio signal (116) is employed to drive the loudspeaker (144).

    Abstract: Electro dynamic transducers can fail due to either excessive voice coil excursion, causing mechanical clipping, or by overheating of the voice coil causing degradation of the materials. The disclosed invention relates to protection against excess voice coil temperature in such transducers. The current through the transducer voice coil and the voltage across its terminals, are measured. The resistive part of the impedance of the transducer is then estimated based on the measurements of current and voltage. When the resistive impedance for the given type of transducer is well known at one temperature it is then possible to calculate the temperature when the resistive impedance changes. The estimated voice coil temperature is then fed to a signal attenuator or controller, which attenuates the output signal to the transducer.
