Particular Bobbin Structure Patents (Class 381/407)
  • Publication number: 20110116678
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a speaker having a long voice coil bobbin and a plurality of dampers, wherein each of the dampers is formed with a central hole for connecting to the long voice coil bobbin at a position adjacent to a lower or upper end of a cone frame of the speaker for enabling the long voice coil bobbin to stably vibrate due to the balance effect of the dampers. In addition, since a ratio of 3˜6 is defined between the length of the long voice coil bobbin and winding length of a voice coil unit of the speaker, the long voice coil bobbin is able to perform the true frequency and amplitude of mega bass more precisely and transmit the vibration to a diaphragm of the speaker for enhancing the vibration strength of the diaphragm and improving the sound quality and volume of the speaker effectively.

The conductive and ordinary dampers are attached to an area within a constant winding width of a voice coil. When the speaker device is driven, the voice coil bobbin vibrates in an axial direction of the speaker device. The voice coil bobbin sometimes rolls due to various factors. Since a fulcrum of the rolling is within the winding width, a distance r2 from the fulcrum P11 to an intersection of a central axis of the speaker device and a plane surface including a center in the winding width becomes short, and the bobbin hardly rolls.

When the voice coil bobbin largely moves on a side opposite to a sound emitting side (downward), each component of the speaker device collides with each other and a large abnormal sound occurs. Therefore, a connecting member and a pot type yoke are designed to collide with each other via a buffer member in an area E1, for example, when the voice coil moves downward with the large magnitude. The inner flange area may also be tuned to vibrate at a predetermined high frequency. Thus, in certain applications, where more acoustic energy is desired at high frequency, the inner flange area may be tuned to provide that extra acoustic energy. To further increase the high frequency energy generated by the compression driver, the diaphragm may be coupled to the bottom side of the inner flange area.

  • Patent number: 6839444
Abstract: A loudspeaker comprising a panel-form acoustic member adapted for operation as a bending wave radiator and an electrodynamic moving coil transducer having a voice coil mounted to the acoustic member to excite bending wave vibration in the acoustic member. The junction between the voice coil and the acoustic member is of sufficient length in relation to the size of the acoustic member to represent a line drive such that the acoustic member has a mechanical impedance which has a rising trend with bending wave frequency.

Abstract: In a loudspeaker, even if an interval between a diaphragm and a yoke is small, a lead wire, an end of the coil wire of a voice coil, moves upward and downward in and/or over a cutout portion formed in the yoke, and does not collide with the yoke. The loudspeaker does not have disadvantages, such as noises and disconnection of the end of the coil wire, and can be thin.

Abstract: Speaker design/method positively centering speaker components one with the other with a unique design of the surround and radiator. Surround has a main body extending radially through more than 180°, extending from the body there is a flat outer ring and a flat inner ring at substantially 180° radially around the body from the outer ring with a portion of the main body extending below the inner ring, forming a channel between the inner ring and the body portion that extends below it. The radiator has outer and inner edges with a central opening defined by the inner edge, with the outer edge either blunt or defined by a short downward extending ring. The shape and dimensions of the outer edge of the radiator and the channel are substantially the same outer with the radiator edge fitting snugly within the surround channel.

  • Publication number: 20040218778
Abstract: An electromagnetic transducer such as an audio speaker employs a slotted yoke and two suspension components enabling very large excursion relative to the size of the diaphragm which results in improved low frequency output. A first suspension component includes an inner ring, flexible springs, and an outer body. The flexible springs extend through the slots of the yoke and couple the inner ring to the outer body. The inner ring, outer body, and flexible springs of the first suspension component may be of monolithic construction or they may be distinct components coupled together. The inner ring couples to the bobbin of the diaphragm assembly, and the outer body couples to the outer cylindrical surface of the yoke or to a mounting ring which is coupled to the outer cylindrical surface of the yoke. A second suspension component, such as a surround, couples the diaphragm assembly and to the mounting ring.

  • Publication number: 20040197004
Abstract: Supplemental portions are added to lead portions of a voice coil attached to a coil bobbin. The supplemental portions each has a shape, which can be restored repeatedly in response to stress, applied to the lead portions. In the case where stress is exerted on the lead portions under the influence of the pulling stress and compressive stress produced in the winding portion when a large driving current is supplied to the voice coil, the supplemental portions are deformed, thereby preventing the wire breaking at the lead portions.

  • Patent number: 6801634
Abstract: The invention provides a continuous layer of polymer that is shaped to act as the suspension, the former, and an attachment to the diaphragm. The coil may be located within the pocket providing insulation to the coil thus preventing electrical short circuiting of the voice coil as the voice coil expands or contracts based on its operating temperature. The invention also provides an inner flange area of a suspension that may act as a spring generating additional acoustic energy from the compression driver.
