Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced hash transforms are disclosed. In particular embodiments, biometric data is concatenated with non-biometric data for generating a fixed-sized vector, and furthermore performing various permutations and projections on the vector. The resulting vector may be stored in a registry, and a corresponding key may be generated and provided to the user associated with the biometric data. The hash transformation may be a lossy process, such that the resulting hash includes less bytes than the initial biometric data, and a hash reversal fails to generate an exact copy of the original biometric data.

Abstract: Some disclosed methods may involve receiving an indication of a digit touching a surface of an apparatus in an active fingerprint sensor area, obtaining current fingerprint image data from the digit and performing a first authentication process based, at least in part, on the current fingerprint image data. Responsive to determining that the first authentication process is an unsuccessful authentication process, some methods may involve obtaining non-digit image data after the digit has been removed from the surface, performing a second authentication process based, at least in part, on the non-digit image data and providing a notification regarding the outcome of the second authentication process. In some examples, the non-digit image data may be obtained and the second authentication process may be performed without providing a notification regarding the unsuccessful outcome of the first authentication process.

Abstract: A method for classifying measuring points of a point cloud ascertained by at least one sensor, in particular, a point cloud ascertained from a LIDAR sensor, a radar sensor and/or a camera sensor, via a control unit. Local surface vectors to adjacent measuring points are ascertained for each measuring point of the point cloud. For each local surface vector, respectively one angle is calculated between the local surface vectors with respect to a gravity vector. A maximal surface vector having a maximal angle with respect to the gravity vector and a standardized surface vector are ascertained for each measuring point of the point cloud based on the calculated angles. • Patent number: 11640101
Abstract: Introduced here are computer programs and associated computer-implemented techniques for determining reflectance of an image on a per-pixel basis. More specifically, a characterization module can initially acquire a first data set generated by a multi-channel light source and a second data set generated by a multi-channel image sensor. The first data set may specify the illuminance of each channel of the multi-channel light source (which may be able to produce visible light and/or non-visible light), while the second data set may specify the response of each sensor channel of the multi-channel image sensor (which is configured to capture an image in conjunction with the light). Thus, the characterization module may determine reflectance based on illuminance and sensor response. The characterization module may also be configured to determine illuminance based on reflectance and sensor response, or determine sensor response based on illuminance and reflectance.

Abstract: Biometric input, such as images of a hand obtained by a biometric input device, may be used to identify a person. An attacker may attempt to gain access by presenting false biometric data with an artificial biometric model, such as a fake hand. During a suspected attack, the attacker is prompted for additional data. For example, email address, telephone number, payment information, and so forth. This provides additional information about the attack while prolonging the time spent by the attacker on the attack. Information explicitly indicating failure is delayed or not presented at all. Data associated with an attack is placed into an exclusion list and further analyzed to recognize and mitigate future attacks. A subsequent attempt that corresponds to exclusion data proceeds with presenting prompts, gathering further information and consuming more of the attacker's time and resources.
