Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques for authenticating a user via gestures, QR codes, and passphrases generated to incorporate typing habits of the user. A passphrase system generates a one-time use passphrase, which incorporates hallmarks and/or quirks of the user's typing, and presents the generated passphrase as an authentication challenge to authenticate as the user. If metrics collected during the authentication challenge are statistically similar to metrics of the user's typing, the authentication succeeds; otherwise, the authentication fails. A user's gesture habits during input of an authentication drawing may be used as a target for future authentication attempts. A user's input motions (typing and/or gestures) may be converted into a secure QR code; a different host device may use the secure QR code to obtain the target metrics for future authentication attempts of the user.

The lighting mechanism provides light to illuminate the skin surface placed upon the transparent surface. A prism has a first side facing the lighting mechanism, a second side at the window, and a third side through which a dactylographic image exits the prism. One or more light reflecting surfaces are disposed within the housing to reflect the dactylographic image towards the housing aperture. The optical module is coupled to a mobile device having a camera, with the aperture of the housing aligning with a lens of the camera. The camera acquires the dactylographic image, and the mobile device adjusts this dactylographic image to produce a dactylographic image suitable for biometric matching.

  • Patent number: 10169637
Abstract: Example methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for on-screen optical fingerprint capture for user authentication are presented. These allow for the authentication of a fingerprint where the fingerprint image is propagated in a glass layer before being captured by a camera. In some examples, such propagation can result in multiple fingerprint images resulting from total internal reflection within the glass layer. Feature information can then be determined from the captured image of the fingerprint, which can include multiple fingerprint images. The amount of feature information can then be reduced. A histogram associated with the captured image based on the reduced number of features can be generated, and a user can be authenticated based on the histogram.

Abstract: A transmission device has a detector, a generator, and a transmitter. When the detector has detected that a communication rule of a message that has been broadcasted to a network by another transmission device coincides with a communication rule of a message that is broadcasted to the network by the present transmission device, the generator generates an abnormality notification message. Then, the transmitter broadcasts an abnormality notification message to the network.

  • Patent number: 10157273
Abstract: Embodiments of methods, apparatuses, and storage mediums associated with eye movement based knowledge demonstration, having a particular application to authentication, are disclosed. In embodiments, a computing device may determine whether a received input of a pattern of eye movements is consistent with an expected pattern of eye movements of a user when the user attempts to visually locate a piece of information embedded in a display. In embodiments, the expected pattern of eye movements may include patterns related to fixations and/or other statistical patterns, however, may not be limited to such patterns. In applications, determining consistency or correlation with the expected pattern of eye movements may identify the user by simultaneously verifying at least factors of authentication—that of biometric criteria related to a user's pattern of eye movements and a password or other information known to the user.

Abstract: An implementation of an auto-completion or auto-correction mechanism where a dictionary of entry list look-up is triggered by the expiry of a time limit between data entry events such as key-press events, where the value of the time limit is dynamically determined as a function of the entry rate. The time limit may be calculated for example on the basis of an average entry rate, and may include an extra margin value. The occurrence of look up triggering will therefore tend to be optimised to the present user's data entry rate.

  • Patent number: 10152519
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for identifying an optimal spectral match and potentially display the compared spectra. A sample spectrum of a sample substance can be compared to reference spectra to identify matches, thereby determining possibilities for what the sample substance is. Correction parameter(s) may be used for the sample spectrum and/or the reference spectrum. Initial value(s) for the correction parameter(s) can be applied to the sample spectrum and/or a reference spectrum, and a similarity score can be determined. The value(s) for the correction parameter(s) can be updated and iteratively improved to provide an optimal similarity score that satisfies a convergence criterion. Data about the reference substances having optimal similarity scores that are above a threshold can be output to a user, e.g., the reference spectra can overlay the sample spectrum. A user can then make a final determination of which reference substance corresponds to the sample substance.

Abstract: The invention relates to an iris device (1) for optical imaging systems (71), comprising an aperture arrangement (5) and to a medical imaging system (72) comprising a sensor (15), in particular a camera (15a). Conventional iris devices (1) known from the art unavoidably suffer a necessary trade-off between the depth of field and the amount of light transmitted through the optical system (71), i.e. in particular the amount of light incident on the sensor (15). This disadvantage results from the fact that iris devices (Wo one) of the art transmit or reject light in the same way for all wavelengths (43), i.e. show a spectrally flat transmission property.
