  • Patent number: 10733431
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system may access first, second, and third probability models that are respectively associated with predetermined first and second body parts and a predetermined segment connecting the first and second body parts. Each model includes probability values associated with regions in an image, with each value representing the probability of the associated region containing the associated body part or segment. The system may select a first and second region based on the first probability model and a third region based on the second probability model. Based on the third probability model, the system may compute a first probability score for regions connecting the first and third regions and a second probability score for regions connecting the second and third regions. Based on the first and second probability scores, the system may select the first region to indicate where the predetermined first body part appears in the image.

Abstract: Features of various implementations are used to enable determining what a particular consumer is watching on television in order to deliver matched functionality, content and/or services, as a part of an interactive television suite of technologies. In some implementations, the process of determining what a particular consumer is watching is enabled so that communication between the primary set-top box and a supplemental set-top box and/or television integrated device is reduced, thereby avoiding the need for one or more provider specific APIs. For example, one aspect of the disclosure is a computer-implemented method of identifying a media program by capturing display data from the media program, and extracting text from the display data in response to determining that the display data includes the text overlay, wherein the extracted text is associated with the media program.

Abstract: A display management processor receives an input image with enhanced dynamic range to be displayed on a target display which has a different dynamic range than a reference display. The input image is first transformed into a perceptually-corrected IPT color space. A non-linear mapping function generates a first tone-mapped signal by mapping the intensity of the input signal from the reference dynamic range into the target dynamic range. The intensity (I) component of the first tone-mapped signal is sharpened to preserve details, and the saturation of the color (P and T) components is adjusted to generate a second tone-mapped output image. A color gamut mapping function is applied to the second tone-mapped output image to generate an image suitable for display onto the target display. Abstract: The present invention is to provide a method and system using compressed data directly for target tracking and target classification in videos. The present invention uses a video imager to generate compressive measurements, and a random subsampling operator to compress the video data. It uses a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) for target detection and manual location of the target and putting a bounding box around the targets in the first frame is not required. It further applies a saliency-based algorithm to re-center the captured target. This re-centering process can be repeated multiple times and each application of re-centering will improve over the previous one. A pixel completion algorithm is used to fill in the missing pixels for the captured target area. A Sparse Representation Classification (SRC) for target classification. Both the target templates in a dictionary and captured targets are transformed to the frequency domain using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).

Abstract: An electronic device may include a display pipeline to be coupled between an image data source and a display panel. The display pipeline may include pixel contrast control processing circuitry programmed to determine pixel statistics indicative of an image frame based at least in part on image data that indicates an initial target luminance of a corresponding display pixel implemented on the display panel. The pixel contrast control circuitry may also apply a set of local tone maps to determine modified image data that indicates a modified target luminance. The display pipeline may also include a pixel contrast control controller coupled to the pixel contrast control processing circuitry. The pixel contrast control controller may be programmed to execute firmware instructions to determine local tone maps to be applied during the next image frame based at least in part on the pixels statistics determined by the pixel contrast control processing circuitry.

  • Patent number: 10477220
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a first type of sensor, a second type of sensor, and a control circuitry. The control circuitry receives a first foreground mask for an object-of-interest in a previous color image frame and further estimate a second foreground mask for the object-of-interest in a current color image frame at a first image resolution. The control circuitry further upsamples the second foreground mask to a second image resolution and select at least one region-of-interest in the current color image frame. The control circuitry then upscales the upsampled second foreground mask by an expectation parameter generated based on a kernel density-based estimation for the at least one pixel in a selected region-of-interest. The upscaled second foreground mask exhibits a minimum foreground mask error that is caused by upsampling with respect to the estimated second foreground mask.

Abstract: A high dynamic range video processing method performs merging and tone mapping techniques after a Bayer filter mosaic technique is performed and then converts it to red green blue (RGB) at the end as opposed to converting into RGB at the beginning and then performing merging and tone mapping after. The HDR processing is performed on Bayer-mosaic images and no de-mosaicing and color space conversions are required. The merging procedure has two modes: full-reset merging and LDR-updated merging. The first mode, full-reset merging, creates an HDR frame once the system has all image frames captured. The second mode, LDR-updating merging, means that any new HDR frame is obtained by an updating of a previous HDR frame with a new LDR frame data.
