Abstract: A computer implemented method, system and computer program product for identifying the Main Colors and the matching colors of a visual object, and then viewing on a mobile device select items comprising the matching colors, such as from a merchant's catalogue. A visual object is analyzed for color content, and the results are stored on a system database located on the device or on a remote server. The color analysis of the objects comprise advanced image processing techniques, such as Main Color extraction using color space transformation comprising HSV, RGB and CYMK to map between pixels in the image. The user can subsequently view a display on their mobile identifying the visual object's Main Colors and at least one Harmonic Color; and then select and view all items (i.e. products in a database) comprising one Harmonic Color, and/or all items of a specific type and Harmonic Color.

Abstract: An image apparatus for providing an estimated illuminant of a scene and subsequently providing an adjusted image of the scene includes a capturing system and an illuminant database. The capturing system captures information for an input image of the scene. The input image is defined by a plurality of input colors. The illuminant database includes a separate subspace of information for a plurality of possible illuminants. The subspaces can be created from multi-dimensional color information from its respective possible illuminant that is computed using Principal Components Analysis. This allows for more accurate illuminant estimation of the scene and the use of Principal Components Analysis to generate the one or more subspaces allows for accurate and relatively easy generation of the subspaces. Additionally, the image apparatus can include a control system that compares the input colors to the subspaces in the illuminant database.

  • Patent number: 9111355
Abstract: Described is a system for selective color processing for vision systems. The system receives a multi-band image as input. As an optional step, the multi-band image is preprocessed, and a transformation is performed to transform the multi-band image into a color space. A metric function is applied to the transformed image to generate a distance map comprising intensities which vary based on a similarity between an intensity of a pixel color and an intensity of a target color. A contrast enhancement process is applied to the distance map to normalize the distance map to a range of values. The range of values is expanded near the intensity of the target color. Finally, an output response map for the target color of interest is generated, such that the output response map has high responses in regions which are similar to the target color to aid in detection and recognition processes.

The high dynamic range image is segmented into different regions such that each region is represented by a matrix, where each element of the matrix is a weight or probability of a pixel. An exposure of each region is determined or calculated and the exposure values are applied to the regions responsive to the weight or probability. The different regions are then fused together to obtain a final tone mapped image.

Abstract: An improved method of high accuracy beam placement for local area navigation in the field of semiconductor chip manufacturing. Preferred embodiments of the present invention can also be used to rapidly navigate to one single bit cell in a memory array or similar structure, for example to characterize or correct a defect in that individual bit cell. High-resolution scanning is used to scan only a “strip” of cells on the one edge of the array (along either the X axis or the Y axis) to locate a row containing the desired cell followed by a similar high-speed scan along the located row (in the remaining direction) until the desired cell location is reached. This allows pattern-recognition tools to be used to automatically “count” the cells necessary to navigate to the desired cell, without the large expenditure of time required to image the entire array.
