  • Patent number: 7275869
Abstract: An inner bag for a transport tank is constituted of a doubled tubular film in which a tubular film is inserted into another one. An inner bag supply-discharge opening is thermally welded to an attachment hole formed in the doubled tubular film. When thermally welding one end of the doubled tubular film, a reinforcing film is put on a two-layered portion constituted only of an outer tubular film, so that the two-layered portion has the same thickness as a four-layered portion constituted of the outer and inner tubular films. Thereby, the whole thermal welding line has approximately uniform thickness such that the thinner portion dose not exist. This will prevent the deterioration in sealing property, strength and durability of the thermal welding line caused by rubbing of the thinner portion during transporting and or the application of welding energy to the thinner portion.

Abstract: The invention is a thermoplastic film having a heat resistant coating. The film is particularly useful in the preparation of bags and associated packaging systems that are used for protecting and packaging articles. Typically, the heat resistant coating has a melting range that is greater than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic film and exceeds the temperature of the heat generated during foam formation. As such, packaging films and bags that are prepared in accordance with the invention help prevent foam-in-bag cushions from fusing together. Particularly useful heat resistant coatings include ink varnishes and resins that are solvent-based, water-based, or energy cured.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an air-tight closure for enhancing accessibility to contents of a container when the container is opened and for preventing exposure of the container contents to ambient air when the container is closed. The invention further relates to re-closable containers including the same. The closure comprises at least two elongated male units disposed a gap apart on the outer surface of one wall of the container and at least two corresponding elongated female units disposed a gap apart on the outer surface of an opposite wall of the container opposite the male units, forming at least two male-female pairs. The closure may further include a tongue for facilitating opening the container.

Abstract: A multilayered packaging film having good antifog performance that is suitable for use in food packaging. The multilayered film comprises an outer film attached to an inner film, which outer film is a combination of a first nylon layer, an ethylene vinyl alcohol layer attached to a surface of the first nylon layer and a second nylon layer attached to the ethylene vinyl alcohol layer. The inner film is a combination of a third nylon layer having a silicone oil on a first surface of the third nylon layer, and a sealant film on a second surface of the third nylon layer, attached either directly or via an intermediate adhesive layer. An antifog composition is either contained within the sealant film or is coated on a surface of the sealant film opposite the third nylon layer. The silicone oil effectively blocks the migration of the antifog composition into an adjacent nylon layer when the multilayered film is stored in roll form.

Abstract: Container or bags for sealing food or other objects are made from a composite material. The material has an outer oxygen-impermeable layer and an inner heat-sealable layer. The two layers are joined by an intermediate adhesive layer that is stiffer than either the inner or outer layer. Other embodiments may be made of a single layer of heat-sealable material that resists the flow or air or oxygen inside the container. Channels on the sides of the container or bag form an interconnecting network and allow a flow of air and oxygen for evacuation of the bag. The material may be laminated in a continuous fashion as a tube wherein bags are made by cutting and sealing the material at desired intervals.

Abstract: Foldover squeeze packages for containing flowable material generally have a first sidewall and a second sidewall that are sealed to each other around their respective perimeters. The second sidewall has an outlet that permits the flowable material to exit the package. A portion or flap of the package is folded over and sealed directly to itself around the outlet. Films for forming such foldover squeeze packages include a first film and a second film. The second film has at least first and second layers, wherein the second layer is adapted for use as an interior surface of a second sidewall a squeeze package and the second layer is adapted to seal to itself without disrupting the seal between the sidewalls of the package.
