  • Patent number: 4674128
Abstract: Comestible cones with frozen edibles deposited thereon are safely and securely held and transported in a carrying bag. The carrying bag contains a handle portion which is positioned above the center of gravity of the cone-filled carrying bag and insures that said filled carrying bag is in stable equilibrium. The bag comprises two substantially planar sheets, one of which is juxtaposed behind and in registration with the other. Said two sheets are joined together along their bottoms, along a portion of their sides, and intermediate their sides along a plurality of spaced zones which taper diagonally downwardly toward one another to thus define a plurality of quasi-conical pockets. The non-joined portions of the sides of said sheets define upper panel segments. The cones are receivable in the pockets of the bag and are securely and safely held therein during transport of said cones from place to place.

  • Patent number: 4610029
Abstract: A plastic bag to be carried in the hand and a method for manufacturing the plastic bag are disclosed. The plastic bag comprises a top part, a jacket part and a bottom part. The top part is provided with a carrying aperture or the like and the bottom part is provided with a filling valve or the like by which the plastic bag can be filled with bulk material. The top part of the plastic bag is formed by a transverse seam and a reinforcing patch attached to one side of the upper end of the bag whereby the top part includes three material plies. A reinforcing patch can be attached to both sides of the upper end of the bag so that the top part is constituted by four plies.

  • Patent number: 4595389
Abstract: A stack of detachably-connected, individually carryable bags of a plastic material, preferably plastic foil. Each bag has a front wall, a rear wall and an upper bag opening. The bag walls of each bag are provided with centrally positioned punch-out pieces positioned opposite each other adjacent the upper bag opening. The punch-out pieces may be removed by hand to form handle grips. The punch-out pieces of each of the bags in the ones of the bag walls that are on one and the same side of all of the bags in the stack are removed. Uniting the individual bags into a single stack without additional structural members is possible, when the punch-out pieces remaining in the stack and constructed as oblong perforations are interlocked with each other.

  • Patent number: 4576316
Abstract: A dispensing bag for particulate matter is closed at one end by a two layer closure formed by an openable outer closure, and an inner dispersion panel with apertures of suitable size therethrough. Opening the outer closure exposes the apertures in the dispersion panel and permits particulate matter to be dispensed therethrough. The bags may be conveniently mass produced from sheet material, such as flexible plastic, in the form of a continuous strip or flattened tube, by appropriate cutting, folding, and joining operations. The invention provides an inexpensive container from which particulate matter may be conveniently dispensed in controlled fashion, and which resists accidental opening and spillage.

  • Patent number: 4562925
Abstract: A thermoplastic bag structure comprising a front and rear bag wall, a bottom and an open mouth top portion, said open mouth portion being characterized by having two pairs of single film handle loops each of which are located at opposite ends of said open mouth portion, the handles of each pair being side-by-side and each handle is an integral single film loop extension of said front and rear bag walls. The bag structures can be unitized by providing a detachable tab at the bag mouth opening and unitizing the bag structures through this tab. The method of forming said bags involves providing an end sealed collapsed thermoplastic film tube and removing plastic to form a bag mouth opening and handles at one end thereof. The resulting bag is an ungussetted bag which can be unitized into a pack by providing a detachable, unitizing tab at the bag mouth opening.

  • Patent number: 4555025
Abstract: A shrink bag having an integral carrying handle is provided that includes an extended lip bag of a heat shrinkable thermoplastic material and having a carrying hole in the lip with a continuous fused bead around its periphery, the carrying hole being spaced sufficiently below the top of the lip such that upon heat shrinking the bag about a product sealed therein enhanced thickening along the carrying-load bearing portion of the hole periphery occurs relative to the non-load bearing portion of the hole periphery. An associated method for making the bag is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4528694
Abstract: A carry-bag includes two wall sheets (34,36) joined or coherent to define a bag portion, and the respective top portions of the wall sheets are provided with gripping and carrying openings. In order to provide a strong, easy to use, and relatively tight closing to the interior of the bag portion, the top portion of a first wall sheet (34) has been folded inwardly and attached to define an insertion pocket (24), and a gripping opening is provided in the pocket. A top portion of the other wall sheet (36) is shaped as an insertion tongue (32) which is also provided with a gripping opening (6) and is adapted to be received in the interior of the pocket (24) so that the two gripping openings are at least partially coextensive.

  • Patent number: 4521910
Abstract: A multiwall cooler bag is formed by gusseted inner and outer tubes, the outer tube being made of kraft paper and having its lower end circumferentially bonded to the inner tube, the inner tube comprising an inner ply of plastic material heat sealed to closure at its lower end and an outer ply of kraft paper, with a strip of plastic reinforcing material extending the length of and secured to the back and front walls of the outer tube. The front wall of the outer tube has its lower end formed with a closure flap secured to the back wall of the outer tube, while the back wall of the outer tube has its upper end formed with a closure flap overlapping the front wall when the bag is completely closed. The upper portion of the inner tube is free of the outer tube to permit independent closing of the inner tube before closing the outer tube.

  • Patent number: 4481668
Abstract: A shopping bag handle is either integral with opposing panels of a grocery bag or is formed in separate inserts attachable to grocery bag panels. The panels have central end regions which have parallel integral reinforced strips extending along the length of the panels and which may be formed by glued pleats in the panels. A U-shaped flap is cut between the reinforced lateral strips. The flap is wrapped and glued around a transverse web at the end of the panel and which is defined by the U-shaped flap. The transverse web is further reinforced by doubling the web thickness and folding its corners inwardly before wrapping the flap around the web. The reinforced web serves as the handle. The base of the handle opening formed by the flap may be formed of a panel which is folded downwardly to cover the cut edge of the transverse portion of the slit forming the flap.
