  • Patent number: 6127009
Abstract: A dispenser unit has a flexible polymer bag, a joining part (10, 11) and a stiff hard part (20). The joining part has an inner layer (11) welded to the hard part and an outer polymer layer (10) welded to the inner material of the flexible bag. The inner material (30) of the flexible bag and the outer material of the joining part (10) are the same and are joined in such a way that they may be thermally sterilized. A process for manufacturing this dispenser unit has a step of coextrusion of the multilayered bag material, a step of extrusion of the multilayered joining part, and steps for sealing the bag material, sealing the multilayered joining part and sealing the hard part. The dispenser unit can be used for dispensing liquids, in particular aqueous liquids for human or animal medicine or in the food industry.

  • Patent number: 5068945
Abstract: A fastener particularly adapted for securing an end of a cord in an opening in an object comprises a cylindrical shaped body. Extending through the fastener body is a passageway to hold an end of the cord, for example. In practice, the fastener preferably is made of plastic allowing the fastener to be molded onto the cord. Projecting outwardly on an angle from an inner end of the fastener body is an ear. Because the cord, the fastener ear, or both are flexible, the fastener ear and cord may be pressed into alignment. Once aligned, the fastener and cord end may be threaded through the opening in the object with the ear then returning to its prior nonaligned position. The cord is prohibited from being drawn back through the opening by an interference fit between the fastener ear and the object.

  • Patent number: 4834553
Abstract: A package is provided which is formed of a plastic film such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The package is formed to define an internal chamber to accommodate an article to be packed. A slit is provided in the wall and a hanger is provided a part of which extends through the slit. This part is provided with projections which lock the hanger against retraction into the internal chamber. The projections are rounded and/or wedge shaped to facilitate penetration of the hanger through the slit. According to the method by which such a package is formed the projections are shaped to penetrate through the slightly smaller slit without exceeding the elastic limit of the material from which the package is formed. Thereby the material can resume its original shape after the projections have been forced through the slit.

  • Patent number: 4779736
Abstract: This invention pertains to a container made of a rigid tubular conformation. Each end of the tube is flattened at a substantial central portion to produce and provide a protruding end portion, and in this flattened and sloped end or portion at least one access aperture is formed. This aperture is selectively closed by a plug, valve or cap adapted to be secured in a fluid-tight manner in this container. Usually this container is made from thermoplastic pipe or tubing from three inches to more than two feet in diameter. The ends are sealed to prevent contamination or ingress of water and the like. The ends are sealed to keep contents from getting out. Hand holds may be formed where the ends are sealed. This tubular container is made with a small amount of tooling and minimum skills by the fabricator. These containers can and may be made economically with very short-run processes, and size extent and length may be changed easily.
