Abstract: The present disclosure relates to strata 2-ply drawstring trash bags implementing a J-flap extended hem to provide increased top-of-bag strength. In one or more embodiments, the J-flap extended hem includes a 2-ply web folded back on itself (e.g., during a hem folding operation to enclose the drawstring within a hem channel). In one or more implementations, a hem seal secures the 2-ply web to an inside surface of the trash bag. At least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over extends past the hem seal and is additionally secured to the inside surface of the trash bag via one or more hem skirt seals. For reduced material consumption in certain embodiments, the J-flap extended hem of the present disclosure imparts added strength using only one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over. In some embodiments, at least one ply of the 2-ply web fold-over includes ring-rolled portions to add top-of-bag strength.

Abstract: The inventive subject matter generally relates to shaped battle constructs for use in consumer products, such as garments and sleeping bags. In certain aspects, the shaped baffles are arranged in a multi-level construction of baffles wherein the baffles are offset in two or more levels. In certain aspects, the entire construct is a unitary woven, seamless construction.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pouch pack made up of a plurality of pouches where each pouch is a re-sealable container for preserving single or multiple cigars or single or multiple cigar tobacco leaves. A perforation allows the pouch pack to be separated into the individual pouches without damage to the pouches. A vent/seal allows the atmosphere in the pouch to be controlled. A form encases the cigar tobacco leaf in the pouch pack while allowing the cigar tobacco leaf to equilibrate with the atmosphere in the pouch which is controlled by one or more of a humectant, a vent/seal and a sensor to control the humidity in the pouch. In an embodiment of the invention, the form is one or more wrapped cigar tobacco leaves. A mold protects a cigar or a cigar tobacco leaf from damage by an external force exerted on the pouch or pouch pack.

Abstract: The invention includes a system for solidification of pharmaceutical wastes. The system may be for use in connection with a container serving as the medication bottle. The system includes an absorbent composition including a plurality of surface cross-linked superabsorbent particles. Additionally, a soluble packet may be included so that the absorbent composition is released upon dissolution of the packet and medication is rendered unavailable. The invention also includes a method of solidifying pharmaceutical waste.

Abstract: The invention described herein generally pertains to a hermetically sealed pouch for storing elongated objects. The pouch includes a plurality of pockets separated by longitudinal seals that are also perforated. A bundle of elongated objects to be inserted into an individual pocket of the pouch can be provided with caps on each end to protect a material of the pouch. The pouch can be provided with a label having a plurality of sections that each align with a corresponding pocket of the pouch. The label can include perforations between each section, which are aligned with perforations along the longitudinal seals of the pouch.

Abstract: Methods for creating multi-layered incrementally-stretched and incrementally-laminated bags with increased or maintained strength are described herein. An increased level of strength is achieved by bonding adjacent layers of a multi-layer film together in a manner that the bond strength of the laminated layers is less than a strength of a weakest tear resistance of the individual first and second film layers. The inventors have surprisingly found that such a configuration of light bonding provides increased and unexpected strength properties to the multi-layer film as compared to a monolayer film of equal thickness or a multi-layer film in which the plurality of layers are tightly bonded together.

When the bags are separated from each other, the next bag in the continuous series will align and expand to open into a use position. The bags can be stacked on top of each other in a ready to use position.

The bags may have an upper seam, a U-shaped cut and a pair of bag handles. The bags may be corona treated.

Abstract: A self-supporting, rigid, and collapsible reusable bag made from flexible material and having a bottom, two first sidewalls, two second sidewalls, a top opening, and rigid insert. A rigid full-wall board is embedded in each of the two first sidewalls. A rigid insert comprised of at least one pair of sidewalls and bottom with substantially similar dimensions to the second sidewalls and bottom of the bag are placed in the interior and in frictional contact with the second sidewalls and bottom of the bag. The rigid insert sidewalls are held in place with securing devices located on the interior upper corners of the sidewalls of the bag. The bag can be collapsed by moving the rigid insert away from the second sidewalls and bottom to allow the second sidewalls to fold either inward or outward. A full-wall pocket is provided for each first sidewall to receive the full-wall board.

Abstract: Compressible reclosable storage containers (e.g., pouches) having a one-way valve disposed along the bottom of the container. In one configuration, the reclosable pouch comprises a receptacle having a storage chamber and a mouth in communication with the storage chamber, and an airtight closure for closing the mouth. The receptacle comprises two walls made of thermoplastic web material, two side seals that include respective marginal portions of the two walls, and a vent that extends from one side seal to the other. The vent comprises a multiplicity of collapsible channels, each channel comprising a respective air inlet in flow communication with the storage chamber and a respective air outlet in flow communication with space external to the pouch. The channels may be formed by a series of zigzag or wave-shaped heat seals or heat seals have other shapes.

Abstract: An anti-skid treatment is applied to one or both major surfaces of bulk materials bags. The treatment may be applied to any bulk material bag, but is detailed in respect of films that tend to be relatively slippery, such as oriented polypropylene (“OPP”) and biaxially oriented polypropylene (“BOPP”). In one preferred embodiment, an elastomeric polymer having a coefficient of friction higher than that of the bag material is applied in strips to one or both surfaces of the bag. A method of manufacturing the bags is also described.

The outer mesh or gauze pouch which completely envelops or surrounds the inner produce containing pouches has a volume at least equal to the total volume of the inner pouches, to allow for the pressing and expansion of the ground produce when the inner bags are burst by a press platen. Another alternative embodiment employs a third outermost sealable plastic pouch that is capable of holding the gauze bag or pouch, which holds the produce-containing pouches. This outer pouch can be sealed and serves as the package and container for storage in refrigerators or suitable storage facilities.

The wall comprises two facing sheets, and at least one sheet is a multilayer sheet having an inner layer of polymer enabling the facing sheets to be joined by melt sealing at less than 95° C. The bag may be sealed at location other than the frangible seal. A machine-readable image (e.g. QR code) may direct a computer or phone to a video on the Internet that shows re-sealing the bag at a location separate from the frangible seal to isolate the storage region from air surrounding the bag.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a container for flowable material configured to be installed in a counter below an access hole. The container includes a first deformable portion and a second deformable portion. The first deformable portion defines a first cavity and has a sealable first cavity inlet. The second deformable portion defines a second cavity and is in flow communication with the first cavity. The first deformable portion is configured to deform to fit into the access hole when substantially no flowable material is therein and the second deformable portion configured to deform to fit through the access hole when substantially no flowable material is therein. The disclosure also includes a method of installing a container of flowable material in a counter below an access hole.

The inner bag is formed of a flexible material, is arranged to hold a product that degasses, e.g., whole bean coffee, and includes a one-way valve. The outer bag is also formed of a flexible material and encloses the inner bag, forming a gas space therebetween. The gas space is in communication with the ambient atmosphere via at least one communicating passageway. Gas may vent through the one-way valve into the gas space and from there through the at least one passageway, with the outer bag providing a smooth aesthetically pleasing appearance notwithstanding changes in pressure and/or temperature to which the package is subjected.

Abstract: The present invention includes methods and apparatus in which a reusable bag is provided for the collection and return of soiled garments, laundry and/or other clothing items. The bag may be provided in the form of a hamper that is open at the top, with one or more hooks that allow the bag to be hung from a clothing rod, and is provided with engagement devices that allow the bag to be folded up when not in use, and then unfolded to various levels for containment and protection of clean items that have been hung on standard hangers. In some embodiments, garment protection flaps and a detachable accessory bag are provided inside the bag. A cap flange is coupled to the peripheral edge of the cap body and extends from the interior surface of the cap body. A cap locking member is integral to the cap flange. A cap lip defining an interior surface and an exterior surface extends from the cap flange for manipulating the cap body and the cap flange. The cap flange couples with a pouch flange of the ostomy pouch for defining a sealing closure for maintaining the stool and the stool odor within the ostomy chamber and a locking closure for preventing inadvertent removal of the cap flange from the pouch flange.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for water storage and transport uses a container constructed from one of more flexible plastic sheets. A number of chambers for holding water are formed within the container. Each chamber is separated from an adjacent chamber by a web of the flexible plastic sheet. The web of the flexible plastic sheet is perforated to allow adjacent chambers to be separated from one another. In use, the water in the chambers may be liquid or frozen.

According to the bag with a port member, the bag with a port member that can reduce a residual amount of contents to be as small as possible when the contents inside the bag are taken out can be provided.

Abstract: Bags are provided herein, having multiple separable units. The bags may be used for sorting waste into types in a simple manner, which may encourage more people to sort their waste. The bags have separate units which are interconnected at their tops, to allow easy separation upon waste disposal. The bags may be used in a range of applications, from home use, replacing multiple containers by a single container with the bag, to municipal use in garbage containers, sparing placing and simplifying waste processing.

Abstract: Provided is a multi-compartment pouch with a breakable or openable inner compartment used for mixing of two or more ingredients contained within the compartments without opening the pouch to the atmosphere. In one form, a two-compartment pouch includes a top compartment and a bottom compartment and an inner gusset separating the top compartment from the bottom compartment. The inner gusset includes an openable region and a fold line, and means for grasping and pulling apart the front and rear panels of the pouch to cause the openable region to open to allow for the combining of contents of the top compartment with contents of the bottom compartment without opening the pouch. Also provided are methods for making the multi-compartment pouch.

Abstract: The insulated container and insert are formed of relatively soft and flexible panels having relatively thick cores of thermal insulation captured between thin impervious sheets. The outer container has a closable top, and the insert has an open top. The insert is about half the height of the outer container, allowing ice or other cooling material, beverage cans and/or bottles, etc., to be placed in the bottom of the outer container with the insert resting thereon for the carriage of food therein. As the outer bottom surface of the insert will be moist from contact with ice or the like therebelow, the outer container includes a drop down panel that may be lowered for placement of the insert thereon to preclude contamination of the bottom of the insert with loose sand or the like. Additional carrying handles and straps are provided, as well as outer pockets on the outer container.

The remaining portion has at least one frangible attachment to the dispensed portion. An optional bag stack insert has a notch at a first end that aligns with the opening. Each bag stack is secured to an insert with a lower end of the stack folded under the first end and the stack inserted into the container with the folded stack portion located adjacent the opening.

Abstract: A container, or package, that is separable for resizing the container after the contents are partially consumed. One or more mid-package separable seals are positioned between the top and bottom of a package. The seal in the sealed configuration flexibly provides package integrity with an air-tight seal and connection. In the operated configuration, the seal separates the package into two sections, allowing the package to assume a size that is suitable for the volume of material remaining. In one embodiment, the mid-package separable seal includes a sealing strip that is adhesively attached to the outside of the package and covers a tear line/strip formed in the material of the package. Removal of the sealing strip allows the tear line to separate the package into two sections. In another embodiment, a connecting strip is attached to two sections of the package and the connecting strip has an integral tear line.

Abstract: Trash bags may be formed to include first and second sidewalls joined along a first side edge, an opposite second side edge, and a closed bottom edge to form an outer bag. A second inner bag may be inserted within the first bag to form a “bag-in-a-bag” type configuration in which the inner bag is bonded to the outer bag along side seals. When the outer and inner bags are formed primarily from LLDPE thermoplastic resin using a blown film process, the inventors have surprisingly found that such configurations provide increased and unexpected strength properties while using less material.

Abstract: A pouch has a connection structure that includes a female connector and a male connector. The male connector of the pouch is configured to snap-fit with another female connector that has the same configuration as the female connector, and the female connector is configured to receive by snap-fit another male connector that has the same configuration as the male connector. A system of pouches can be provided by connecting the male and female connectors of a plurality of pouches. The connectors are also configured to allow the connected pouches to pivot relative to each other such that the pouches can be displayed in a fan-like arrangement, and accessories can be provided though passages in the connectors.

Abstract: An improved sealing method allows the ends of pouch closure to be joined while at the same time forming dome-shaped slider end stops at respective joined ends of the closure. The closure may comprise two zippers. In addition, the ends of the zipper profiles are terminated by means of dies that form uniform and consistent terminations in the zone where the ends of the zipper strips are joined. The dome-shaped slider end stops and the zipper profile terminations are produced by heat sealing, either ultrasonically or through resistance heating, of the closure material. After the closure material has been softened by ultrasonic energy or resistance heating, dies are used to form the dome structures and terminations of the zipper profiles.

Abstract: A foil cartridge is disclosed. The foil cartridge has a foil tube enclosing at least one chamber in the circumferential direction and a cover separate from the foil tube. The cover closes an axial end of the foil tube. At least one first opening is configured in the cover for each chamber, through which opening the chamber may be filled with a filling material. A closure is provided, which seals the first opening. To produce the foil cartridge, the chamber is established by connecting the cover with the foil tube. Then the chamber is filled with a filling material through the first opening in the cover and the first opening is sealed.
