Patent number: 5353927Abstract: The present invention is a package for housing and mixing two materials, such as epoxy resin and polyamine adduct, together to form an adhesive. Two sheets are joined together to form the outer periphery of the bag. A third sheet is secured between the outer sheets and divides the package into two compartments. One compartment includes a line of perforation holes that are easily ruptured when a user applies pressure to the external area of the compartment. A cap covers the perforation holes so that the material contained within the rupturable bag will not leak into the other compartment. When the one compartment is ruptured, the adduct that is contained therein is released into the other compartment and mixes with the resin. After the two materials are completely mixed the adhesive is ready for use.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1993Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey M. The bags are provided in a series on a roll enabling dispensing of each bag by unrolling and tearing along a line of perforations. Individual plastic bags are defined by lines of adjacent heat seals and perforations on a flattened plastic tube. Two elongated side straps have ends attached to the bag adjacent to the top opening so that the top opening of the bag may be closed by tying the straps together. The straps are generally trapezoidal in shape with the widest dimension of the trapezoid being 50-60% the width of the bag at the junction line of the strap to the bag. This design provides strength to the attachment of the strap to the bag in order that the straps may also be used as a handle for carrying the bag.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1989Date of Patent: July 3, 1990Inventor: Daniel Espinosa

Patent number: 4927405Abstract: A composite protective laboratory specimen bag (A) and method is illustrated which includes folded tubing (D) having a releasable lock (26) for forming a first fluid-tight compartment (B) for containing a laboratory specimen container. J-folded sheeting (E) with a reverse flip (46) forms a second compartment (C) for containing associated paper work. The tubing and sheeting are heat sealed together across a web (32) of the tubing to form a closed top composite bag with side mouth openings (24,48) for the compartments. A protective plate (62) avoids damage to the lock during the heat sealing step.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1988Date of Patent: May 22, 1990Inventors: Kenneth W. Martin, Jonathan T. McClure

Patent number: 4911777Abstract: Photograph slide sleeving material is manufactured by cutting pocket opening slots in an elongated first web section of polymer film material as the web is continuously moved through a slot cutting station. The slotted first web section and an adjacent elongated second web section of polymer film material are continuously moved through a laminating station where they are laminated at locations forming pocket bottom walls and side walls. An elongated web of photograph slide sleeving material having a plurality of rows of pockets emerges from the laminating station and is continuously moved through a perforating station where it is perforated between adjacent rows of pockets. Ring binder storage files and hanging storage files are assembled by separating sheets of slide sleeving material from the elongated web and attaching storage mounts having adhesive edges.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1988Date of Patent: March 27, 1990Assignee: Pakon, Inc.Inventors: James A. Patent number: RE34477Abstract: This invention, Infections/Medical Waste Containment Carrier, is a manufactured, flexable container in which solid and/or liquid infectious/medical waste is placed for containment, storage, transport and incineration. The Infectious/Medical Waste Containment Carrier consists of three integral functional components:1. A coextruded polyethylene tube with walls of a given thickness.2. A closure pouch with a self-contained tie cord.3. A bottom seal of dual thermo-sealed bars with enforced cross members and air pockets.Once the bottom seal is applied to the coextruded polyethylene tube the tube becomes a bottom closed container. When the pouch is applied at a specific position located in the center and near the top of the container carrier and the bottom and top are serrated, the containment carrier is constructed to serve as a depository for infectious/medical waste.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1992Date of Patent: December 14, 1993Assignee: Quality Containers International, Inc.Inventor: James T.
