  • Patent number: 5678754
Abstract: An envelope includes a front panel and a rear panel with a closure flap. The front and rear panels are connected by an expandable sidewalls formed by joining end flaps of the front and rear panel. The sidewalls have an intermediate line of weakness that allows bending and expansion. The line of weakness is backed on the inside by an extension from the front panel flap which reduces the likelihood of the sidewall being turned outwardly rather than inwardly into the envelope. A front to rear strip connects the front panel with the back panel so as to form a relatively small pocket and a relatively large pocket within the envelope. A locking tab is preferentially placed above the small pocket and constructed of extensions of the front panel and sidewall to allow a user to selectively use the locking tab to hold objects within the small pocket or release such objects. The envelope is especially suited for transferring finished photographic prints and a container holding negatives for the prints.

  • Patent number: 5441153
Abstract: A new lipstick case for containing a plurality of tubes of lipstick to organize and protect the lipstick while being carried in a handbag or the like is disclosed. The lipstick case comprises a holder formed of resilient transparent plastic (either hard or soft plastic) having a plurality of vertically aligned open-top elongated chambers therein. The chambers each have dimensions to snugly receive an outer protective tube of a conventional cosmetic lipstick. The lipstick is inverted within the chamber such that the base of the lipstick may be readily viewed and easily grasped by a user to withdraw the coloring medium from the protective outer tube while retaining the tube within the chamber. A top closure flap is integrally transversely formed on the holder whereby lipstick tubes contained therein are prevented from inadvertently falling out of the chambers. A fastener for holding the top closure flap closed is also included.

  • Patent number: 5427830
Abstract: A continuous, two-ply thermoplastic film material, sealed in a manner that forms superimposed panels into individual, inflatable bags that are repeated and separable, individually or in groups of bags, forms a continuous packaging material. The material can be cut or torn from preformed rolls to a desired size to over-wrap a product with an air cushion. Valves are sealed into the material at repeated locations to allow air insertion at any location or to allow a primary air chamber to feed any length of pre-sealed bag material that can be sectioned and filled with air at the same time. The invention also allows wrapping of a product first, without air, and insertion of the wrapped product into a carton or box with provision for inflating the wrapping to conform tightly to the product, inside the carton or box. The wrapping material can be recycled either as a reusable, inflated wrapper or made of biodegradable plastic materials to minimize environmental damage.

  • Patent number: 5427453
Abstract: A compartmentalized carrying bag is provided comprising a containment structure formed from wall members whose interior surfaces form a sealable interior cavity having a fixed maximum volume. The cavity is divided into separate sealable chambers by a dividing member attached to the interior surfaces. Each separate chamber is accessible from outside the containment structure by separate sealable access portals. The dividing member is structured to permit the volume of each separate chamber to vary from approximately the fixed maximum volume to approximately zero, wherein at all times the sum of the volumes of the separate chambers is equal to approximately the fixed maximum volume.

  • Patent number: 5407090
Abstract: A container closed at one end by a supporting surface includes a vertical tubular inner member and an outer envelope secured to the outside of the inner member. The outer envelope comprises at least four vertical partial tubular outer members equal in vertical length to and parallel to the inner member, the partial tubular outer members having an open arc-shaped cross-section with free ends at either side of the arc, each outer member being secured along both of its free ends to the outside of the inner member. The radius and location of each of the outer members relative to that of the inner member are such that, viewing the container in cross-section, four lines may be drawn, each line drawn through at least two tangent points on the outer members with at least two of the lines being parallel and intersecting tangent points on the inner member, the four lines intersecting to form a rectangle, which rectangle encloses the entire outside perimeter of the container.

  • Patent number: 5377833
Abstract: A device for holding and storing emptied beverage containers includes a bag having a plastic back panel and a transparent plastic front panel secured to the back panel at the opposite sides and bottom edges and at laterally spaced zones across the width of the bag to form a plurality of parallel, vertically extending pockets. The tops of the pockets are open for receiving containers in an upright end-to-end stacked relationship. The bottoms of the pockets are closed. A rip cord associated with each of the pockets is operable in response to the application of tensile force thereon to cause the pocket to tear along the length of the pocket, thereby enabling the discharge of the containers from the pockets.
