With Means To Facilitate Opening Closure Patents (Class 383/47)
  • Patent number: 7896199
Abstract: A portable, liquid-dispensing bag that has a bag within one or more bags. A fitment portal aligns openings in the one or more inner bags and outer the outer bag, which in at least one embodiment accommodates a tap. A variety of arrangements and variations are possible, including having a re-sealable opening in both the inner bag or bags and a re-sealable opening in the outer bag. A gas vent can be added to either the inner or outer bags. It is contemplated that a drinkable liquid is stored in an inner bag, and ice or cold water is stored in the outer bag to keep the drinking fluid cold.

Abstract: A flexible container for holding a liquid includes two walls made of a flexible material, the free overlaying edges of the walls being assembled together by a weld or an adhesive seam so as to define an inner sealed volume of the container. The two walls also define a spout designed to protrude outwards from a peripheral portion of the container, and an outflow channel connects the spout with the inner volume of the container. One or several obstacles are formed by welding or bonding together the two walls in the inner volume, substantially opposite from and in the vicinity of, the channel leading to the spout in such a manner as to limit the section of the passage available for the liquid between the inner volume and the outflow channel. One narrowed passage is left open in such a manner that a portion of the surface including the spout is deflected. This portion of the surface is substantially defined by the obstacle(s) and by folds directed substantially transverse with respect to the obstacles.

  • Patent number: 7077466
Abstract: A lifejacket pouch in the form of a pocket (3), is located beneath the seat surface of an aircraft seat. Wall pieces (17) move relative to each other and may be fixed in a position adjacent to each other along an opening edge (7) of the pocket (3). A closure device includes at least a pair of retaining elements to generate a closing force acting between the wall pieces at the opening edge (7). The elements may be overcome by a manually-operated tear-strip (13) for opening the pocket (3), having a tie strip (11), acting on the pair of retaining elements. A combination of a press-stud closure and a tie strip (11) on the tear strip, through which the above extends, offers a high closure security and a possibility of opening particularly simply and rapidly with a good closing force. At least one pair of retaining elements includes a press-stud closure (21, 23). The tie strip (11) has an opening (25) through which the press stud closure (21, 23) extend.

  • Patent number: 6730071
Abstract: A blood collection bag assembly is provided. The assembly includes a flexible blood collection bag, a length of flexible tubing extending from and communicating with the bag and a connector secured to the end of the flexible tubing remote from the bag. The connector includes a needle pierceable resealable closure secured in sealing engagement with the end of the flexible tubing remote from the bag. The connector can be used with a conventional needle holder, such as the type used to collect specimens of blood into an evacuated tube. The blood collection bag assembly has no sharp components, and hence is safe and easy to use. Additionally, the blood collection bag assembly can be used with conventional evacuated tubes to avoid cut and drip techniques for collecting specimens of blood for analysis.

  • Patent number: 5863585
Abstract: The invention relates to a package for food product useful for boil-in-bag or microwave. This package comprises a sealed flexible pouch with a web of oriented material having a slit in the direction of the orientation of the material which is covered by an adhesive membrane. The package is opened and emptied by peeling off the membrane to expose the slit, inverting the package and pulling the edges of the package substantially parallel with the slit to open the slit to facilitate emptying of the contents of the package without spillage and with a reduced risk of burning the fingers of the user.

  • Patent number: 5692546
Abstract: A method for loading a bulk cargo into a flexible expandable liner. The liner has a body defining an inlet opening and an interior for holding the cargo. An inlet chute is connected to the liner body and extends through the inlet opening. The method includes the step of opening the inlet chute to form a tubular shaped passageway which passageway is in communication with the interior and exterior of the liner. Then conducting bulk cargo through the tubular passageway into the interior. Raising the gas pressure in the interior of the body to force the inlet chute against the liner body and thus close off the chute and inlet opening.
