At least one of the profiles has a grasping flange with a free end positionable both above and below the interlocking profile, and an attachment flange below the interlocking profile and attached to the wall of the pouch at an anchored portion on the attachment flange. The grasping flange is unattached to the first wall between opposite sidewall edges of the pouch. The complementary interlocking profile is attached to the opposite pouch wall. Some pouches can also include an opening in a side wall of the pouch to provide access to a portion of the grasping flange.

The reclosable bag is configured with an integral pour spout having a reclosable fastener to facilitate the pouring of material from the bag, and subsequent resealing. By locating the pour spout along an upper side of the bag, material is focused downward from the bag, and not outward, when poured. Bags configured in this manner thus provide end users with enhanced control over the dispensing rate and direction of their contents. In some embodiments, the bag is also configured as a self-supporting bag capable of resting generally upright upon its bottom end.

Abstract: A reclosable pouch includes a first side wall and a second side wall joined together to form a bag. The pouch has an open top for receiving and removing items to be stored, such as food or other material. The pouch further includes at least one closure mechanism near the open top of the bag which provides for a reclosable bag. Each closure mechanism comprises a male closure element and a female closure element aligned on the opposing first and second side walls, respectively. The male closure element is asymmetrically deformed in a plurality of intermittent section. Preferably, the closure mechanism is a double zipper with at least one male section including one hook extending from an end thereof to engage the female closure element. The closure mechanism provides a clicking feel and/or sound when the pouch is closed. The closure mechanism is substantially leak-proof when closed.

At least one of the webs includes internal faces which correspond to the faces of the upper and lower portions made in materials having different melting temperatures. The melting temperature of the material of the upper portion is less than the melting temperature of the material of the lower portion. The intermediate areas are made of a third material having a lower tensile strength than the upper and lower portions.

A plastic slider is slidably mounted to the fastener for movement between an open position and a closed position, and the slider has a separating finger. An end termination is formed at the end portions of the first and second tracks, and the end termination has a shape corresponding to the separating finger.

Abstract: A side-gusseted bag has two front walls which are joined by a side gusset at a longitudinal side provided with a reclosure. The side gusset is folded-over outwards in the region of the reclosure in such a manner that the side gusset ends at its folded-over section at the associated longitudinal side. The reclosure running in the longitudinal direction is fastened to an inner surface of the side gusset at the folded-over section. A method for manufacturing a side-gusseted bag is also provided.

Abstract: A reclosable bag is disclosed which includes a reclosable zipper with interlocking profiles and a slider. The interlocking profiles include flanges which include arcuate cut-outs at the ends thereof. The width of the flanges is thereby reduced at the distal ends thereof. This allows the flanges to be sealed to the front and rear panels of the reclosable bag without being sealed within the side seals of the reclosable bag. In order to maintain the integrity of the bag, the flanges are sealed to each other immediately inwardly adjacent from the arcuate cut-outs, and the seal lines between the flanges and the front and rear panels are extended so that the front and rear panels are sealed to each other in an area bounded by the arcuate cut-outs and the side seals.

Abstract: A reclosable storage bag and zipper tape for use in conjunction with same is disclosed. The reclosable bag includes first and second panels which are sealed about bottom, left, and right edges leaving an open top. The closure system further includes first and second closure assemblies or zippers which can be individually or simultaneously closed to seal the contents within the bag. Even after the first and second zippers are engaged thereby closing the bag, excess air within the bag can be removed simply be manually compressing the bag and thereby forcing the air through the vent apertures provided between the zippers. A valve internal to the closure system may be provided proximate the vent apertures and open upon sufficient application of pressure thereby allowing for air to be evacuated from the bag.

The plastic bag also includes a series of ribs that are formed in the region where the bag is folded to define a bottom end. The ribs reinforce the bottom end without compromising the flexibility of the bottom end.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a reclosable package or bag with a slider zipper, and further including a first gusset with a perforated line or similar line of weakness formed between the slider zipper profiles in order to provide tamper evidence and a second gusset formed below one zipper profile in order to allow the filled packaged to stand up for display purposes. This package or bag is typically bottom filled, but then displayed to the customer in the orientation with the bottom in the upper position and the zipper in the lower position. One alternative embodiment substitutes a press-to-close-zipper for the slider zipper. A further alternative embodiment omits the perforated line and provides for a separation in the web between the zipper profiles to form a mouth for the package or bag.

Abstract: A pouch has an elongate closure mechanism adapted to provide vacuum retention within an interior of the pouch over an extended period of time when sealed. The closure mechanism includes a first pair of interlocking members that resealably mate together, a second pair of interlocking members that resealably mate together, and a pair of sealing members that form an air tight seal separate from the interlocking members disposed between the first and second pairs of interlocking members. The closure members are connected with opposing panels of the pouch in a manner designed to provide differential opening and closing forces. The pouch may include a check valve and air evacuation channels to aid in evacuating air from the interior.
