Each of said first and second fastening strips includes first and second closure elements separated by an intermediate area, wherein the first closure element on the first fastening strip is arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length with the first closure element on the second fastening strip, and the second closure element on the first fastening strip is arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length with the second closure element on the second fastening strip. Each of the closure elements may be colored with a colorant. For example, the closure elements on one fastening strip may be colored with an opaque pigment, and the intermediate area on that fastening strip may colored with a first translucent pigment.

Abstract: The present invention provides a zippered closure comprising a front zipper profile and a back zipper profile. The front and back zipper profiles each have a facing side and an attaching side. The front and back zipper profiles interlock along their facing sides. The facing side of at least one of the front and back zipper profiles is wider than its attaching side.

Abstract: Closable watertight case for storing accessories, such as car keys, credit cards, etc., which case comprises a bag and a closing means. The bag has an opening, which opening provides access in order to store the accessories in the bag. The bag is furthermore provided with a reinforcing body. The closable watertight case is designed to be used in situations, in which valuable accessories have to be stored in a safe and watertight manner. The closing means is formed by a closure sleeve, which comprises an insertion opening. The bag is inserted at least partly into the insertion opening of the closure sleeve. Characteristic of the invention is the fact that the reinforcing body with the bag can be connected to the closure sleeve by means of a click-fit connection in order to exert a clamping force on the bag in the closed position of the case.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fastener or closure assembly for fitting to a sheet or to the mouth of a packaging bag, and comprising at least one fastener or closure strip formed by a support web and a fastener or closure element carried by the web, the assembly including sequential cuts occupying a fraction of the width of the support web of the strip, outside the fastener or closure element and distributed over the length of the assembly in order to suppress the effects of warping, curving, or curling of the assembly.

Abstract: A flowwrapper package with a reclosure is provided. The reclosure typically includes a double profile zipper, with upper and lower flanges. Additionally, a pre-activated peel seal is provided between the lower flanges to provide hermeticity. The double zipper allows the user to reclose the package. The absence of hermetic end seals allows for increased production rates.

Abstract: The flexible storage bag includes overlaying first and second sidewalls defining an internal volume that can be accessed from an open top edge. To evacuate air from the internal volume after the open top edge has been closed, the bag includes a one-way valve element attached to the first sidewall and communicating with the internal volume. To prevent the one-way valve element from becoming clogged by the opposing second sidewall, the bag also includes a textured portion that maintains at least a partial clearance between the first and second sidewalls proximate the valve element. To prevent contamination of the valve element, the textured portion can also be configured to facilitate removal of liquids and juices from air exhausting from the storage bag.

Abstract: The storage bag includes an interior volume for containing food items and a one-way valve element through which air from the interior volume can be evacuated. To prevent fluids and juices from the stored food items from contaminating the valve element, a separator defining a chamber is included that sealingly connects the valve element to the interior volume. In the separator, fluids and juices separate from the evacuating air by gravitational separation and are returned to the interior volume. In an embodiment, to facilitate packaging and distribution of multiple storage bags, the separator is adjustable between an expanded position for providing the chamber and a collapsed position substantially eliminating the chamber.

Abstract: A closure mechanism for a pouch includes a first interlocking closure element and a second interlocking closure element. A closure profile is disposed on an interior side of the first interlocking closure element. A flange extends from the closure profile and an aperture is disposed therethrough. A resilient valve flap is disposed over the aperture and attached to an exterior side of the flange. A channel is defined by an area of non-attachment of the resilient valve flap to the flange that extends from the aperture to an edge of the resilient valve flap. The resilient valve flap is biased to form a releasable airtight seal in the area of non-attachment of the resilient valve flap to the flange.

Abstract: A reclosable pouch includes interlocking male and female closure elements having elongate hollow closure profiles. The male closure profile has a hollow shaft section, and the female closure profile has a channel with at least one hollow side. Alternatively, a set of hollow male closure profiles may also form one or more female closure profiles therebetween. A set of pleated grip strips may be disposed adjacent the closure elements to aid in opening a pouch. The closure elements and grip strips may be integral with pouch sidewalls, may be secured and/or separately extruded on to, for example, a polymer, directly to pouch sidewalls, or may be secured to backing strips to form a closure strip, which may subsequently be secured to pouch sidewalls.

Abstract: In a packing bag made of a flexible film-like first material with, a substantially rectangular base which is formed as a standing surface with longitudinal and side edges, the base comprises a second material giving form-stability to the bag in the area close to the base, and has a base fold line running in the center and parallel to the two longitudinal edges and dividing the base into two base parts which can be folded against each other, and the longitudinal edges form side fold lines between the base and substantially rectangular side walls arranged on two opposite sides of the base, wherein the fold part which is constructed from the base and the two side walls is glued to the bag.

Abstract: A closure device providing a visual confirmation of occlusion. The closure device includes a first and a second interlocking fastening strips which are arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length, at least one of the fastening strips having a surface alteration providing visual confirmation of occlusion of the closure device. The surface alteration may be a slit which opens or closes upon occlusion of said closure device. In one embodiment, the surface alteration may extend into a coextruded portion. The color of the coextruded portion is exposed when the surface alteration is open and hidden when the surface alteration is substantially closed. In another embodiment, the surface alteration may extend into an edge glow material which produces an edge glow effect when the surface alteration is open. In a third embodiment, the surface alteration may extend through an opaque side wall to expose the color of the base.

Abstract: Disclosed is an impermeable bag for holding articles. The impermeable bag includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a flexible interlocking member and a flexible interposing member. The first sidewall includes a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The second sidewall includes a second inner surface and a second outer surface. The first inner surface and the second inner surface are attached to form a receptacle with an opening to hold the articles therein. The flexible interlocking member is disposed on the first inner surface proximate to the opening. The flexible interposing member is disposed on the second inner surface proximate to the opening. A pressure is applied on the first outer surface and the second outer surface to insert the flexible interposing member into the flexible interlocking member for sealing the opening.

Abstract: A reclosable package having a zipper closure that includes areas of weakness that, upon opening of the zipper closure, permanently damage at least one of the closure members that form the zipper closure. The package user can readily discern if the zipper closure has been previously opened.

Abstract: A multi compartment reclosable plastic bag including four or more panels sealed together to form at least two bags with each bag having a resealable opening. One of the bags may be smaller than the other(s). The plastic bags further include lips that are adjacent to the resealable openings. The bags incorporate closure elements for sealing and unsealing of the resealable openings. The smaller bag may include a lip that folds toward the space between the smaller bag and an adjacent bag to form a cuff portion adapted to secure contents inserted between the smaller bag and the adjacent bag.

Abstract: A reclosable package comprising front and rear panels extending between top and bottom transverse seals, the front panel having a line or lines of weakened tear resistance for forming an opening, through which a zipper can be accessed. The zipper is suspended from the top transverse seal and attached to the front panel at a lower elevation. At least a major portion of the base strip of a forward zipper part is disposed between the front panel and the base strip of a rearward zipper part. Respective upper portions of the zipper base strips are joined to each other in the top transverse seal. A lower portion of the base strip of the forward zipper part is joined to the front panel in a transverse band-shaped zone of joinder. No portion of the base strip of the rearward zipper part is joined to the rear panel outside of the top transverse seal.

Abstract: A zipper closure for a polymeric package includes a plurality of profile members on a first polymeric surface, where one and not more than one of these plurality of profile members is colored differently from the remaining profile members on the same polymeric surface. The differently colored profile members provide a visual reference for properly orienting the zipper closure to the polymeric packaging during manufacture.

Abstract: A one-way, zip-locking closure for bag-type containers that include slider zipper arrangements. The locking mechanism includes a series of registration structures that is provided along one side of the mouth of the containers and a catch mechanism that is provided within the slider. The catch mechanism engages the series of registration structures as the slider is moved to close the mouth of the container, and thereby prevents movement of the slider in the opposite direction.

Abstract: A closure device providing a visual confirmation of occlusion. The closure device includes a first and a second interlocking fastening strips which are arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length, at least one of the fastening strips having a surface alteration providing visual confirmation of occlusion of the closure device. The surface alteration may be a slit which opens or closes upon occlusion of said closure device. In one embodiment, the surface alteration may extend into a coextruded portion. The color of the coextruded portion is exposed when the surface alteration is open and hidden when the surface alteration is substantially closed. In another embodiment, the surface alteration may extend into an edge glow material which produces an edge glow effect when the surface alteration is open. In a third embodiment, the surface alteration may extend through an opaque side wall to expose the color of the base.

Abstract: The present invention teaches a film having a pattern of protruding structures. When used in the vacuum packaging bag material context, the result is a vacuum packaging bag that a consumer can effectively evacuate and hermetically seal. The protruding structures tend to form channels that enable gas to evacuate from within a vacuum packaging bag. In certain embodiments, the protruding structures are formed only on an inner side of the vacuum packaging film, typically through a hot casting or heat-extrusion process. As a result, far less bag material is required than in the prior art patterned film formed through cold embossing processes. The present invention also contemplates a variety of applications for the films, including preformed bags and bag rolls, as well as a variety of apparatus for manufacturing the films and appliances for utilizing the bags and bag rolls.

Abstract: The present invention includes a baby bottle liner constructed and arranged to fit into a cavity of a baby bottle. The baby bottle liner includes a continuous, profiled, elongated reclosable fastener. The continuous, profiled, elongated reclosable fastener has a first continuous elongated profile strip and a second continuous elongated profile strip. The first continuous elongated profile strip and the second continuous elongated profile strip are dimensioned to provide an airtight and/or watertight seal upon interconnection thereof. The baby bottle liner further comprises an airtight and watertight side seal at each end of the reclosable fastener. Each side seal connects an end of the reclosable fastener to an inside surface of a front wall and an inside surface of a back wall of the liner. The invention also provides a baby bottle with a baby bottle liner and a kit for infant nursing that has a plurality of baby bottle liners.

Abstract: A reclosable food storage bag able to withstand a wide temperature range manufactured from environmentally sensitive materials is disclosed. The bag can be manufactured from such materials as silicone rubber and thermoset resins. By using such materials, the bag can easily withstand the temperature ranges encountered in residential kitchens extending from the freezer to the oven and all ambient temperatures therebetween. In addition, by manufacturing the bag from such materials, the environmental impact of using petroleum based polymers is avoided.

Abstract: A partially flexible recloseable bag including a flexible cylindrical body, a rigid cylindrical base with a bottom at the bottom of the body, a pair of opposed trapezoidal panels within the top of the body, each panel having a seamless interface with the body, a reusable seal across the opening between the top of the panels, loop handles with extended bonds on each panel proximal to the seal.

Alternatively, a T-shaped guide rail can be formed on at least one flange to allow drive rolls to engage the zipper. These aspects are particularly adaptable to feeding a zipper or zipper segment to a transverse direction zipper applicator.

Abstract: A pack sealing method and device in which a slit tubular member (16) is slidably fitted around a wrapped portion of a pack (8) (a bag or envelope made of a diverse material while having a diverse size and a diverse shape) formed as a portion of the pack (8) near an opening (4) of the pack (8) is wrapped around a rod member (14), in a state in which a diverse liquid, gaseous, and solid material or object is put into the pack (8) through the opening (4). The rod member (14?) is fixedly bonded to the inner or outer surface of the pack (8) or separate from the pack (8). Where the pack (8) is a zipper pack provided with a zipper, this zipper functions as the rod member.

Abstract: An enclosure for preserving perishable goods includes an inner portion for removably receiving perishable goods, an outer portion that removably receives a vacuum device such as a vacuum cleaner which removes air from the enclosure after the goods have been inserted into the inner portion, a sealable outer seal that provides an air tight boundary between the enclosure and an end portion of the vacuum device to promote the removal of air from the enclosure, and a sealable inner seal that provides an air tight boundary for the inner portion and the goods therein after the removal of air from the enclosure and while the vacuum device remains engaged with the outer seal; the vacuum device being separated from the outer seal after the removal of air from the inner portion and the air tight sealing of the inner seal whereby the perishable goods are encased in a vacuum sealed inner portion of the enclosure to preserve the perishable goods after the goods are frozen.

Generally, the disclosed packages have a pair of opposing body panels joined together along a pair of opposing sides and a bottom bridging the sides so as to define a mouth opposite the bottom, a reclosable fastener extending along the mouth, and an active agent. The reclosable fastener includes a pair of polymeric tracks, in which each of the tracks includes a mating element and a fin portion. The mating elements are releasably engageable to each other, and each of the fin portions extends downwards from the respective mating element towards the bottom of the reclosable package. The active agent is associated with at least one of the fin portions for communication with the interior of the reclosable package.

Abstract: Reclosable gusseted packages or bags have improved resistance to leaking or spilling through the gussets by sealing the gussets together through apertures in the gusset walls, by sealing the zipper flanges together through apertures passing through the gussets in the package or bag, by folding portions of the gussets, or by sewing the gussets shut in areas proximate to the zipper.

The amount of fragrance diffused can be regulated by increasing/decreasing the number of the ventilation holding portions (5) to be inserted.

Abstract: The present invention provides a reclosable bag that is substantially impermeable to oxygen by using a nylon layer in the bag side wall material. A preferred embodiment uses a bag wall comprised of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and nylon. LDPE and nylon layers are laminated together. When used as a baby bottle liner, the bag is constructed and arranged to fit into a cavity of a baby bottle. The bag includes a continuous, profiled, elongated reclosable fastener. The continuous, profiled, elongated reclosable fastener has a first continuous elongated profile strip and a second continuous elongated profile strip. The first continuous elongated profile strip and the second continuous elongated profile strip are dimensioned to provide an airtight and/or watertight seal upon interconnection thereof. The fastener provides an airtight and watertight side seal at each end of the reclosable fastener.

A resealable closure mechanism is attached to inner surfaces of the first and second sidewalls proximate the opening to define a pouch interior opposite the opening. Abstract: A plastic storage bag has a storage area that is resealably closed by a zipper. The zipper is provided in a passage way that extends from an opening of the bag to the storage area. The zipper extends between first and second edge seams of the storage bag. Wider edge seams are provided in the passage way, particularly at the interface between the passage way and the zipper. The wider edge seams protect the edges of the bag and the edges of the zipper when opening the zipper.

Abstract: A heat-shrinkable anti-fomitic device in the form of a bag or tube forms a cover for an object which prevents cross-infection by bacteria and other pathogens that may reside on the object. The heat-shrinkable anti-fomitic device can have a sterile interior that is sealed or stored flat during manufacture to maintain sterility. Therefore, no outer wrapping for the anti-fomitic device is required. The anti-fomitic device is inverted when used to cover the object and results in an ultimate outer surface that is initially sterile. A plurality of such devices can be heat shrunk to an object such that removal of the outer layer will prevent cross contamination. Heat shrink film materials for the coverings/bags serve as a barrier to the transmission of pathogens.

Abstract: A plastic bag includes a front wall and a rear wall that are joined together to define a containment portion. To facilitate pouring a pourable substance from the containment portion, the plastic bag includes a pour spout. The pour spout includes an aperture that is defined in a lip. The lip can be formed into a channel such that the pourable substance is directed through the aperture. The plastic bag also includes a series of ribs that are formed in the region where the bag is folded to define a bottom end. The ribs reinforce the bottom end without compromising the flexibility of the bottom end.

Abstract: A clothes storage bag permitting the stacking of clothes in standing position is comprised of two side plastic films and a base plastic film; both side films defining an erected storage case on the upper part; a zipper sealing being provided to an opening at the top of the erected storage case; the lower part of each erected film laterally extending in opposite directions to form a lateral storage case connecting through the erected storage case; and a passage to expel air being provided on either side of the lateral storage case to reduce bag size.

Visual indicia means are provided by printing automatically and directly applied along substantially an entire length of an outer surface of at least one of the first and second locking members to present various graphics for identity or aesthetic purposes and facilitate locating and closing the sealing device.

This can be done by applying a glue smear to the interior and exterior of the gusset walls; applying glue dots between the exterior facing walls of the gussets; or by applying the glue smear between the exterior facing walls of the gussets.

Opposing portions of the opening may include at least one fluid-filled chamber to seal the package. The chamber may be held in sealing contact with an opposing structure or with each other by fastening means that hold the opposing portions together. In another embodiment, opposing chambers themselves may interlock to maintain sealed contact. The package may include an auxiliary opening so that an end user can fill the package with articles of the user's choice. The auxiliary opening can be sealed at least over a portion of its length. In another embodiment, first and second compartments are isolated by the fluid-filled chamber seal, with the seal being selectively breachable to enable transfer of product from the first to the second compartment.

Abstract: A zipper assembly for a reclosable package or bag is disclosed. The zipper assembly includes two profiles with flanges and internal interlocking elements on the interior of the flanges. The exterior of one of the flanges includes two exterior parallel press-to-close profile-like interlocking elements which are brought into engagement with each other by folding the flanges of the zipper assembly. This increases the burst handling capability of the zipper assembly and the package or bag to which it is attached. Alternatives include substituting a peel seal for the exterior interlocking element as well as an exterior label or sticker to maintain the flanges in a folded configuration.

Abstract: A bag construction for use to distribute flowable material is provided. The bag construction generally includes a first and second panel sections and one or more side gusset panel sections. An internal gusset member is positioned inside the bag construction, between the first and second panel sections. The internal gusset member includes at least one aperture therein for distribution of flowable materials. In preferred embodiments, a bag construction includes an openable and reclosable closure arrangement and an anti-tamper arrangement.

Abstract: A reclosable storage bag and zipper tape for use in conjunction with same is disclosed. The reclosable bag includes first and second panels which are sealed about bottom, left, and right edges leaving an open top. The closure system further includes first and second closure assemblies or zippers which can be individually or simultaneously closed to seal the contents within the bag. Even after the first and second zippers are engaged thereby closing the bag, excess air within the bag can be removed simply be manually compressing the bag and thereby forcing the air through the vent apertures provided between the zippers. A valve internal to the closure system may be provided proximate the vent apertures and open upon sufficient application of pressure thereby allowing for air to be evacuated from the bag.

Abstract: Containers are especially adapted for the reconstitution and dispensation of concentrated or powdered products. The containers preferably include a sealed flexible pouch body defining an interior space; removable primary and secondary seal regions which seal primary and secondary openings into the interior space of the pouch body, and a resealable closure member provided adjacent the primary seal region for reseating the primary opening upon removal of the primary seal region. A strip thermometer may be physically attached to the pouch body so as to provide visual temperature indication of the reconstituted liquid product within the container. The containers may be prepackaged with a desired amount of concentrated or powdered product for later reconstitution. In use, the primary seal region may be physically removed and the resealable closure member opened so to expose the primary opening to the interior space of the container.

The first handle section is attached only to the first side panel at an area below the first closure profile and the second handle section is attached only to the second side panel at an area below the second closure profile. By providing the handle sections in such a manner, the first and second handle sections exert substantially more force on an internal side of the first and second closure profiles, respectively, than on an external side of the respective closure profiles.
