The bottom panel can be a bottom gusset panel. The first and second sidewalls and the bottom gusset panel can have edges joined by side welding or heat sealing. Zipper or slide closures can close the first and second sidewalls. A method for forming a high-clarity, cast polypropylene produce pouch comprises creating a polypropylene (PP) resin, passing the polypropylene (PP) resin through a cast extruding machine and extruding molten polypropylene (PP) to produced extruded polypropylene (PP), rolling the extruded polypropylene (PP) in a cooling roller, and applying a surface-modifying corona treatment to the extruded polypropylene (PP).

  • Publication number: 20140205216
Abstract: The invention relates to a packaging container according to the preamble of claim 1. Packaging containers of this type are in widespread use in the form of side-gusset bags or folded-bottom bags and, in addition to involving low packaging outlay in terms of space, volume and cost, can also be effectively completed, filled and closed in highly developed machine runs. However, a cuboidal (filled-)pack shape, which is usually desired for storage, shipping and display purposes, can only roughly be created for conventional packs since this shape requires the pack to be filled completely, which is difficult to achieve, and, in the case of pourable pack contents, deformation occurs easily overall. If, then, in the customary manner, the packs are brought together at a (head) end to form a removal opening, in the case of which possibly also side gussets run together and possibly also a central bottom transverse seam forms the termination at the other end, incompletely filled packs tend to form variable shapes.

  • Patent number: 8714819
Abstract: This invention is directed to an improved reclosable bag having first and second walls and an open top. The open top has first and second flexible fastener strips attached thereto. One of the strips has a profile portion forming a groove; the other strip has a profile portion forming a rib with a portion of the rib received and retained in the groove when the bag top is closed. Each of the fastener strips has a base connected to the respective walls. The bag has a slider mounted on the fastener strips which is movable longitudinally along the fastener strip to progressively separate the rib from the groove to open the bag, and is movable in the opposite direction to progressively return rib to a retained condition in the groove and create a leak-proof seal. A cradle is formed near one end of the fastener strip which is sized, constructed and arranged to receive and retain the base of the slider when the fastener strip is sealed to prevent leakage from that end of the fastener strip.
