Abstract: A bag includes: a film defining a containable space and a first area and a second area both facing the containable space; an elongated tearing guide piece directly or indirectly bonded to the first area; an elongated belt-shaped base disposed between the tearing guide piece and the second area and along the tearing guide piece; a tab defined by a cut portion penetrating through the first area of the film, the tearing guide piece and the belt-shaped base; and a surrounding seal area intersecting the tearing guide piece in a width direction, the surrounding seal area bonding the first area and the second area to define an area surrounding the tab.

Abstract: A woven laminated plastic bag having an easy open feature is provided. The easy open feature is generally defined by a weakened portion in the bag. In various aspects the bag can be fabricated from a woven polyethylene layer which can be laminated with a polyethylene film layer, can form a pinch bottom bag, and can have one or both sides include graphics and/or printing. The bag can also provide a top end and/or a bottom end either or both of which provide a discrete area which may contain discrete graphics and/or printing.

Abstract: An herb grinding and rolling apparatus configured to provide availability of all of the elements required to facilitate the grinding of herbs and dispensing into a paper for subsequent rolling and smoking. The present invention includes a body wherein the body is formed from a first section, a second section and a third section. The three sections are foldably coupled so as to move the body between a folded position and an unfolded position. The first section includes an herb grinding compartment having an interior volume and an herb grinding plate. The second section and third section are configured to receive, retain and dispense sheets of paper suitable for use in rolling ground herbs. The paper includes perforation seams at one end thereof to produce a desired shape for an end of a rolled paper. The herb grinding compartment includes a funnel formation in the sidewall thereof.

The at least one closure is configured to have a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the adjustable vessel holder is in the first position and is configured to receive a vessel having a first size. In the open position of the closure, the adjustable vessel holder is in the second position and is configured to receive a different vessel having a second size. In some vessel holders, in the first position, a top end has a first internal perimeter, and in the second position, the top end has a second internal perimeter that is larger than the first internal perimeter.

Abstract: A novel fermentation method uses a novel single stage horizontal cylindrical or partial cylindrical fermentor, larger in volume than the target volume of wine, which bounds the entire winemaking process. Fermentor has at least one opening for ingredient insert/removal, one-way venting gaseous closure, fermentor tilting prop, cavity space and bottling tap. Fermentor's cavity space and convex curvature underside provides for a fermentor rocking motion creating agitation and splashing for mixing the wine must and inducing ambient air/oxygen therein. A cavity space for fermentation foam expansion, heavier fermentation emitted CO2 gas purges out the ambient air/oxygen then retains CO2 gas providing a safe substantially oxygen free environment for a manually applied to the fermentor rocking motion creating agitation and splashing for mixing, degassing and resting the wine to clear in a safe substantially oxygen free environment until ready for direct bottling via bottling tap.

Abstract: Presented are an apparatus and method for enclosing. An exemplary apparatus includes a bag having at least a first opening and a second opening, the bag comprising a first sheet coupled to a second sheet along a periphery of the first sheet and the second sheet, and a first closing device coupled to the first opening, the first closing device able to repeatedly open and seal the first opening. The apparatus further includes a second closing device coupled to the second opening, the second closing device able to repeatedly open and seal the second opening.

Abstract: A disposable winemaking apparatus for fermenting wine containing skins, seeds, and stems that form a cap includes a single-use, dual chamber plastic bag that incorporates a mechanism to agitate and disperse the cap in order to maximize extraction of color and flavor. It also includes an integral press mechanism to squeeze out the fermented juice through a strainer, retaining the pomace in the disposable bag. The device may also be used for racking and transfer of wine during aging.

Abstract: The present invention is a washable and reusable storage bag comprising a plastic coated canvas made from cotton and polyethylene. The storage bag comprises a front panel having a zipper and a back panel, a bottom edge and a top edge, and two side edges. The bag further comprises a rectangular transparent polyurethane window in the front panel, preferably in the shape of a rectangle. Two opposing sides of the transparent polyurethane window are heat sealed to the plastic coated canvas to create a liquid tight seal between the transparent polyurethane window and the plastic coated canvas. The outside of the storage bag can be customized with, e.g., designs, branding, and/or advertising. The storage bags can be hand washed, put in the dishwasher or put in the washing machine and clothes dryer.

Abstract: The method and apparatus relates to providing a slit, perforation, line of weakness or similar structure in a flange of a zipper for a reclosable package or bag, including a high-capacity zipper. The slit, perforation, line of weakness or similar structure provides an opening for filling the reclosable package or bag without the need to separate the zipper profiles from each other. After filling, the opening is sealed and the cosmetic appearance of the reclosable package or bag is maintained.

Abstract: A reclosable bag or pouch configured to store, and to easily pour, material. The reclosable bag is configured with an integral pour spout having a reclosable fastener to facilitate the pouring of material from the bag, and subsequent resealing. By locating the pour spout along an upper side of the bag, material is focused downward from the bag, and not outward, when poured. Bags configured in this manner thus provide end users with enhanced control over the dispensing rate and direction of their contents. In some embodiments, the bag is also configured as a self-supporting bag capable of resting generally upright upon its bottom end.

Abstract: An easy-open and reclosable package includes a pouch including a discrete laminate including a base strip, a panel section, and a die cut defining a die cut segment; a first and second anchor seal; the base strip including a sealing segment, backing segment, and intermediate layer including a pressure sensitive adhesive; and a product disposed in the pouch. The die cut segment is so arranged that when the package is opened, the sealing segment is partially removed from the base strip, the pressure sensitive adhesive is partially exposed, and the package can thereafter be reclosed by adhering any of the first side panel, second side panel, and panel section to the pressure sensitive adhesive. Methods of making the package, and a pouch, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A resealable package integrity closure includes a film layer forming a top of a container and a flap defining an access opening. A sealing panel completely covers the flap of the film layer. A releasable adhesive is provided on either or both the film layer and the sealing panel for adhering the sealing panel to the film layer. The sealing panel is releasable from the film layer by pulling the sealing panel back in a peeling direction and reclosable against the top to seal the access opening when the sealing panel is moved back against the top. A coating of transferable material is provided on either the sealing panel or on the film layer, which is transferable therebetween to provide a visual indication that the closure has been previously opened.

Abstract: A body bag is usually rectangular and has an open end, with the other sides being closed and secured, the material thereof being porous to water, being incapable absorbing or containing water, while preventing viewing of any contents therein. The body bag of this invention is formed of a porous material, which prevents viewing of the body contained therein, while permitting water to pass therethrough. The material may be plastic or fiber.

Abstract: A flexible package having a side pour portion is provided. Additionally, one or more of the portions can be shaped and/or manufactured substantially as a gusset. Each of the panel portions comprise two longitudinal sides or edges. The access device can be attached to at least one surface of at least one of the side portions. The device can be manually attached to the side portions, or attached with existing and/or specially designed manufacturing machinery. Attachment of the access device to a side portion of the package is achieved using heat bonding techniques, adhesives, and the like.

Abstract: The rigid reclosure device allows reclosing a flexible packaging of packaged goods (dry, granular, powder or liquid products). A lid with neck contacts a base and shoulder to seal the packaging to limit the removal of the contents from the packaging. The base fixedly attaches to the packaging, which may be a flexible packaging, to seal the packaging when the lid is in the closed position. Retention fingers of the lid and the base engage each other to secure the lid in the closed position. An access tab provides access to the lid to allow the user to open the sealing head to gain access to the contents of the packaging. The access tab may provide a child resistant design depending upon the contents of the packaging. A scoop may also be stored on the lid.

Abstract: An easy-open and reclosable package includes a pouch including a reclosure mechanism including a first and second interlocking strip each having an interlocking segment having a base surface and an interlocking surface; a panel section so arranged that when the panel section is displaced, and the package is opened, a product can be accessed between the first and second interlocking strips, the first and second interlocking surfaces are at least partially exposed, and the package can thereafter be reclosed by folding the package such that the interlocking surface of the first interlocking strip is interlocked with the interlocking surface of the second interlocking strip. The first and second strips are not exposed until the package is initially opened, and are not interlocked with one another until the package is initially opened and then reclosed.

Abstract: A flat-bottomed bag is formed from a flexible sheet that initially is flat prior to being manipulated to form the bag. The sheet is a laminate of a first web and a second web laminated together by an adhesive layer disposed between the webs. The sheet defines a plurality of serially connected side wall panels collectively defining a vertically extending side wall of the bag, and a plurality of bottom panels respectively connected to the side wall panels at respective fold lines. The bottom panels are folded about the fold lines and are attached together to form a flat bottom wall configured to support the bag in an upright orientation. The adhesive layer is in a partial-coverage pattern that includes adhesive-free regions located along each fold line between each bottom panel and the respective side wall panel connected therewith.

The steam port seal part surrounds a steam easy permeable element. The lamination strength between the layers of the complex film in hot condition is not less than 1.5 N/15 mm in width, and the seal strength at least at the steam port seal part in hot condition is not more than 28 N/15 mm in width.

The flap hinges between a closed position wherein the flap covers the opening and an open position wherein the flap does not cover the opening. A gasket can be provided at the opening for closely receiving the spout to seal the opening about the spout. Fasteners, such as hook-and-loop type fasteners, can be provided for removably securing the flap in the closed and open positions.

Abstract: A side-gusseted bag has two front walls which are joined by a side gusset at a longitudinal side provided with a reclosure. The side gusset is folded-over outwards in the region of the reclosure in such a manner that the side gusset ends at its folded-over section at the associated longitudinal side. The reclosure running in the longitudinal direction is fastened to an inner surface of the side gusset at the folded-over section. A method for manufacturing a side-gusseted bag is also provided.

The sealing panel is releasable from the film layer by pulling the sealing panel back in a peeling direction and reclosable against the top to seal the access opening when the sealing panel is moved back against the top. Abstract: A flexible film pouch includes an aperture to access its contents, and a closure means such as a re-sealable spout is applied over the aperture to permit sealed storage of the contents after opening. The closure means is attached to the flexible film pouch by means of a patch that is bonded to the inside of the pouch adjacent to the aperture. The patch is selected to have a mating surface that bonds with the inner surface of the pouch, where such bonding is preferably conducted by ultrasonic welding or adhesive bonding. The patch itself may have a hole that permits access to the contents of the pouch, or the closure means may include a cutting surface that tears a portion of the patch to permit access.

Abstract: A plastic bag includes a front wall and a rear wall that are joined together to define a containment portion. To facilitate pouring a pourable substance from the containment portion, the plastic bag includes a pour spout. The pour spout includes an aperture that is defined in a lip. The lip can be formed into a channel such that the pourable substance is directed through the aperture. The plastic bag also includes a series of ribs that are formed in the region where the bag is folded to define a bottom end. The ribs reinforce the bottom end without compromising the flexibility of the bottom end.

Abstract: A belt-shaped base of a female member of a zipper tape attached to an inner surface of a bag body has a wide portion that extends wider toward an opening of the bag body than a belt-shaped base of the male member. An open tape is disposed on the wide portion and a seal layer is laminated on a surface of the open tape. A first projecting portion is also provided on the wide portion. A second projecting portion is provided on an opening-side end of the belt-shaped base. The projecting portions have a substantially trapezoidal cross section. When the zipper tape is bonded to the bag body and is sealed by the seal layer, a gap is provided between the open tape and the first and the second projecting portions.

Abstract: Presented is a hair restraint which is placed on a user's ponytail to assist in keeping the ponytail tangle free during sleep. The device includes a drawstring, a drawstring lock, and may be utilized with a headband which gathers the hair and holds it into a ponytail while the device is attached. The ponytail can be formed in the back of the users head or more towards the top of the user's head to provide less of an obstruction while the user is sleeping.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flexible package (1) formed by a wrapped material having a first longitudinal joint (4) comprising two longitudinal edge portions of the wrapped material. The package (1) also has a first and a second transverse joint (5, 6), each comprising a transversal edge portion of the wrapped material. The package (1) comprises a pocket defined by said wrapped material, an openable flap (11) defined by an indication (10) and a label (12) fixed to the openable flap (11) and provided with a tab (14) for opening the package (1) along the indication (10). The package (1) is characterised by a first and a second longitudinal stiffener (3) being formed by said wrapped material and that said label (12) is adhesively fixed to at least one of said first and second longitudinal stiffeners (3). The invention also relates to a method of producing such package.

Abstract: The bag has a back panel, a front panel, an upper panel having an upper panel body and a flap and a floor panel. The back panel has a handle opening near the top of the panel. The front panel is shorter than the back panel and is connected to the back panel at the sides of the panel. The upper panel body is sealed to the back panel below the back panel handle, below the upper panel handle and above the flap fold line to form a bag top. The heat sealing desirably forms a seal strip that extends across the width of the bag below the handles and above the flap fold line to connect the upper panel body to the back panel. The top of the bag folds back away from the bag central opening so the handles are not soiled during loading.

Abstract: A flexible container for containing a quantity of pourable product is disclosed herein. The flexible container includes a bag having a first closed end and a second closed end and a wall extending between the first closed end and the second closed end to define a closed cavity. The flexible container also includes a tearable score line defining an intended opening directly to the closed cavity. The tearable score line divides the wall into a first portion engaged with both of the first closed end and the second closed end and a second portion spaced from both of the first closed end and the second closed end. The tearable score line is exposed and directly graspable such that the bag is operable to function as a dish when the second portion is removed.
