Abstract: In embodiments, the invention is a novel hydration pack refill system that comprises a fluid bladder, a bag for carrying the fluid bladder, a bladder nozzle for refilling the fluid bladder, a clip for sealing the end of the bladder nozzle, and a refill port for accessing the bladder nozzle through the bag and methods for its use. The invention may further comprise a water tube and a mouthpiece to allow a user to drink from the fluid bladder while wearing the bag. In preferred embodiments, the bag may be worn on a user's back, held in place by a pair of shoulder straps, and may be rapidly refilled by reorienting the bag from a vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation, opening the refill port, extending the bladder nozzle, removing the clip to unseal the bladder nozzle, and refilling the fluid bladder via the bladder nozzle.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a backpack system including a frame-less waterproof bag and a backpack frame. In one example, a frame-less waterproof bag may include a frame-cap welded to an outer surface of the frame-less waterproof bag. The frame-cap may be adapted to couple the frame-less waterproof bag with the backpack frame while maintaining a waterproof quality of the frame-less waterproof bag.

Abstract: A portable, universally fitting, stylish, lockable security box or bag that integrally affixes to a an object such as the support or cross bar on a frame of a beach lounge chair, a stroller, bike, wheelchair or similar member where it is desirable to protect your valuables on a stationary or a larger movable object. The security bag is a device preferably comprised of a flexible flap component and a main bottom component which encloses the valuables of the user. When the security bag is positioned over an elongate object, such as the support bar of a chair, stroller or other object, the security bag can be affixed to the elongate object by employing a locking mechanism to close the security bag around the support object. The security bag includes an elongate zipper closure to provide a secure internal cavity formed by the two main components which makes this device simple and unique.

Abstract: A detachable closure device for a bag includes a fastener having a first wall coupled along a fold to an opposing, second wall. A first attachment mechanism is disposed at a first end of the first wall and a second attachment mechanism is disposed at an opposite, second end of the first wall. At least one latching element is disposed on the fastener and configured to detachably couple the fastener to a side panel of a bag.

Abstract: A drainable ostomy pouch includes a collection portion and a drain chute extending from the collection portion having a discharge opening for permitting emptying of contents from the pouch. The drain chute is foldable between an open condition in which the drain chute is extended from the collection portion, and a closed condition in which the drain chute is folded towards the collection portion; and a pocket for receiving at least a portion of the drain chute when the drain chute is in its closed condition.

Abstract: A reusable and refoldable bag includes an integral locking mechanism that enables the bag to stay closed in a compact folded position (the folded position is about one-sixth to one-ninth of the original bag size compared to the bag when it is open and laid flat) when not in use and is easily opened when needed to carry contents. The integral locking mechanism includes a covering feature with a protected adhesive element and a flap with a mating adhesive element. In the folded position, the flap's adhesive element is placed under the covering feature and securely interlocks with the protected adhesive element. The locking mechanism can be disengaged and re-engaged for multiple reuses. The flap couples to a first side of the bag and extends outward from the bag. The covering feature couples to the first face adjacent to a top portion of the bag.

Abstract: An adjustable carrying bag having an open upper end and a closed lower end and being formed of a front panel and a rear panel. The panels are foldable about a vertically variable horizontal axis to close the bag such that by varying the vertical elevation of the fold, one varies the volumetric area of the bag. Attachment members are provided for releasably securing the front and rear panels in a folded and vertically adjustable disposition. A handle is slidably mounted on the rear panel such that upon folding the front and rear panels, securing the panels in a folded disposition and lifting the bag by the handle, the handle will slide to the top of the folded bag for carrying irrespective of the vertical elevation of the fold along the bag.

Abstract: A placement component rapidly moves individual bag blanks from a pack or magazine to a conveyor system in uniformly spaced relationship. Each bag blank has opposite surfaces. While the conveyor system continues to move the bags, opening tabs are automatically applied to opposite surfaces of each bag, followed by high speed application and cutting of sideways extending flexible closure strips. The bag blanks are moved continuously from the placement component to the high speed cutting section, as compared to incremental movement, for high speed manufacturing of specialized bags.

Abstract: A metallic laminated gusseted insulated bag includes a front and rear wall each having two lateral edges, a top edge, and a bottom edge; first and second side walls; a bottom member; and a means for hermetically closing the bag; wherein the front and rear walls are joined along their respective lateral edges to the first and second side walls; either or both of the side walls and bottom member are gusseted; and the front and rear walls are joined along their respective bottom edges to the bottom member; and the front and rear walls each include an outer ply including a metallic foil or metallic coated web, and an inner ply having an inner and outer surface, including a thermal insulating layer; the metallic foil or metallic coated web being adhered to the outer surface of the inner ply.

Abstract: A disposable container according to present invention is embodied in a thin-walled container having an integral sealing flap. Such containers include cups or other vessels for holding beverages, food or other substances. The disposable container preferably has a truncated conical shape. One example of such a shape is a typical beverage cup commonly dispensed at fast food restaurants and convenience stores. However, any shape or size of disposable container may be used, so long as the container is sealed using an integral sealing flap in accordance with the present invention. Once the container has been filled it is closed by squeezing or folding the top of the container together. The container is then sealed by folding the integral sealing flap over one side of the top of the closed container. In one embodiment, the sealing flap is then secured using conventional adhesives that are integral to either or both the surface of the container, and the surface of the sealing flap.

Abstract: The body of a sterile collection bag has opposed sidewalls and an upper body end. The interior of the body defines a sterile collection space for an object. First and second flexible closure strips having integrated centrally located wires are attached to the bag sidewalls and extend beyond the side wall edges. The upper end of the body includes one or more small notches cut into the body sidewalls to facilitate tearing of the upper body end from the bag body, with abrupt edges of the strips acting as tear guides. Pull tabs attached to the closure strips can be drawn apart to open the mouth of the bag for insertion of a sample.

Abstract: A disposable pet litter bag including: a bottom wall, first and second side walls connected to the bottom wall, a rear wall and a front wall connected to the bottom wall and to the first and second side walls to form a bag having a top opening. The front wall has an opening for the ingress and egress of the pet. The upper ends of the rear and front walls are provided with a mechanism for detachably connecting the rear and front walls, such that the top opening can be secured closed. The bag is designed and configured to be unfolded just before use. The bag is further designed and configured to enable the establishment of the bag in an open position by pressure exerted by hands inserted through the top opening, and to conveniently allow the addition of fresh litter through the top opening. The bag is further designed and configured such that on demand, the top opening is securely closable.

Abstract: A sterile collection bag and method of opening using wire mechanisms. The bag includes a body and an opening mechanism. The body is formed of opposed side walls and an upper body end. The interior of the body defines a sterile collection space for an object. The opening mechanism includes first and second flexible metal strips each having a first end, a second end, and a mid-section. The mid-section of each metal strip is attached to the center section of a side wall. The metal strips are longer than the width of the body so as to extend beyond the side wall edges. The ends of the metal strips are unattached to one another. In one embodiment, the upper end of the body includes an opening. In another embodiment, the body includes a lateral tear line located below the body upper end, with the opening mechanism located below the tear line.

Abstract: An elongated reusable bag is divided into a plurality of segmented sections, separated by perforations through the bag. Pocketed openings or through passages are located adjacent to each perforation. The openings or through passages are formed by separate thin paper or plastic sheets or one elongated thin sheet which overlays the exterior of the bag. A flexible, bendable tab member, used to close the top of the bag when the bag is full, is also conveniently used to close the bag after varying amounts of product are removed. As the bag is emptied, the segmented sections of the bag are torn or cut off and removed at the perforations. After a section is removed, the original tab is inserted in one of the pocketed openings or through passages and used to secure the bag at a point at which the product remains in the bag.

Abstract: A waterproof bag having three layers, namely inner and outer layers made of a rather durable non-waterproof fabric, and an intermediate layer that is positioned between the inner and outer layers so as to be protected from sharp objects and the like. The bag has an upper circumferencial edge defining a bag opening, and the upper edges of the three bag layers are sewn together. There is a moderately stiff closure belt or strap at the upper portion of the bag. When the bag is to be closed in its waterproof containing position, the belt or strap and the upper portion of the bag is folded over several times, and the outer ends of the belt are brought together to form a loop. This provides a substantially waterproof container. The container is also shown as a containing section of a backpack.

Abstract: A reusable sterilization pouch 10 comprises a pair of sheets 7, 9 that provide first and second sides 12, 14 of the pouch, and a closure 16. The sheets are edge-bonded along both side edges and along the bottom edge to provide sealing seams 13, 15 and 17, respectively. The closure 16 comprises a transverse open-ended channel 19 extended across the top of the pouch and a closure strip 18 that is inserted through the channel 19. Channel 19 is large enough that closure strip 18 can be manually inserted therethrough; channel 19 may be slightly larger, but it should not be so large that closure strip 18 would be so loosely contained that it could fall out of the channel when the pouch 10 is held or tilted on edge. Channel 19 is formed by doubling or folding one end of the sheet 9, comprising side 14, back onto itself and edge-bonding the overlap to provide a transverse seam 20.

Abstract: A sampling bag such as for sampling of liquids or other material is provided with an improved wire-type closure. A pair of wires are connected to the front and rear walls of the bag, and extend outwardly beyond the side edges of the bag. Facing adhesive strips are secured to the front and rear walls of the bag along the length of the wires, and the ends of the adhesive strips extend beyond the ends of the wires. The adhesive strips are secured to each other beyond the wire ends, to enclose the wire ends. In this manner, contact of the wire ends with the walls of the bag is prevented when the wire ends are bent inwardly to close the bag.

Abstract: A reusable bag for storing items. The bag has a band located over at least part of the bag's outer surface. The band is detachably secured to the bag with an adhesive. To reseal the bag after opening, the band is partially lifted away from the bag. A space is thus created between the band and the bag into which the twisted end of the bag may be inserted and secured. The band contains adhesive on only a center region of the band to permit the band to be easily separated from the bag and so that user contact with the band does leave adhesive on the user's fingers or wear adhesive from the band.

Abstract: A bag is provided which is inclusive of a mouth for the insertion of objects to be stored in the bag. The bag is provided with an input section at the mouth to guide the objects via the mouth into the bag. The input section is adapted for being curled in order to function as a closure for the mouth. A retainer is furthermore provided for being hooded over the input section with the latter having been curled thereby to retain the closure at the mouth. A substantially rigid bar of curved form is provided on the bag at the mouth for imparting a curved conformation to the structure to enhance the closure. The retainer is preferably of a pouch-like configuration defining a receptacle to receive the input section in its curled condition. The bag and input section are of a monolithic construction which is of a waterproof material.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein a window-style bag which includes a removable coupon overlying and a transparent window-forming area where the consumer may view the contents of the bag. The coupon section overlies the transparent window-forming film and the bag aperture which forms the window. The coupon is intended for removal, and when so removed, the window viewing area is opened or enlarged, and the bag's structural integrity is substantially unaffected. In practice, the viewing section may be polygonal but is usually rectangular, but the coupon may be secured along two, three or four sides to the bag.

Abstract: The collapsible can comprises two layers of a flexible plastics material which are coupled at the perimeter thereof and define a pouring mouth arranged at the end of an elongated portion, at least a gripping handle being provided at a peripheral edge defined by the two plastics layers.

Abstract: An openable and recloseable tamper evident bag tag is disclosed. Initial opening of a transparent plastic bag provided with the invention breaks frangible connections of end tabs wrapped and adhesively secured around vertical edges of a folded double sectional or triple sectional support member and unsealed bag opening. Tampering is easily discernable from the jagged edges of the broken frangible connections which are formed when the sections of the support member are unfolded. Once opened, the bag can be reclosed and secured by folding the bag opening and sections of the support member together and folding a tin-tie which overlies the end tabs around the vertical edges of the folded bag opening and sectioned support member.

Abstract: A bag having front and back walls and a bendable metal reclosure therefor having a total length greater than the width of the bag bent at two points spaced a distance corresponding to the bag width to have two tab portions at the ends of an intermediate portion, the latter being secured to one of the walls adjacent an end of the bag extending across that wall generally from one side edge of the wall to the other, the tab portions being bent back on the outside of the intermediate portion, and a cover strip overlying the reclosure.

Abstract: Gusseted bags are provided with extruded reclosable plastic profile stirps along free upper end portions of face walls flanking a bag mouth, the fastener strips being free to separate throughout their lengths when opening the bag mouth to the full extent permitted by opposite side expanding gussets of the bag so that free access into the bag such as for inserting or removing contents such as a tray loaded with products such as cookies, or the like, or for pouring contents therefrom selectively between either of the separated ends of the upper end portions of the face walls and the cooresponding ends of the fastener strips is permitted. The fastener strips may have interlockable wraparound extensions. A method of making the bags is disclosed.

Abstract: A bag for mother's milk made of a laminated film or tube prepared through extrusion molding for containing mother's milk therein comprising a sealing portion provided on at least one side of the bag and extended across the extrusion direction and notches provided on the sealing portion for opening the sealing portion along the extrusion direction, while the bag is tightly sealed without any object therein, and a funnel-shaped reflux preventing member.

Abstract: A soft tube intended for packaging paste products is provided. The bottom end of the tube to be filled is flattened and folded upon itself. The result is a four-ply area which is sealed by slipping a U-shaped clip into place covering it.

Abstract: A bag device A is disclosed having a waterproof enclosure D contained within an outer case B having a cover flap C which fastens over a closure 18 by means of a yieldable fastener 20, 22 to seal an article within enclosure D in a generally airtight waterproof environment. Air entrapped therein provides buoyancy and a safety fastener E maintains the closure 18 sealed should cover flap C become unfastened under pressure such as when fallen upon during whitewater boating.

Abstract: A simple and efficient clip structure and method for fastening snack food bags closed is provided which allows an opened bag to be tightly reclosed. The closure clip is preferably integral and has three elongated, side-by-side laterally spaced apart bag-engaging members (a pair of adjacent long members and a single, outer short member). In use, the flattened upper end of a bag is inserted between the long members, and the clip is rotated axially to form a coil; at this point, the clip is partially withdrawn from the coil until the short member is clear of the bag, whereupon the clip is pushed back towards its original position, but with the short member located outside of the coil for locking the bag against uncoiling. Snack foods or the like can thus be stored in a previously opened bag secured by the closure clip without the food losing its freshness, palatability or nutritional value.
