Abstract: A container for the storage of valuables and a service to retrieve the container is disclosed. The container is designed to contain valuables and important documents, and protect these contents during an emergency evacuation situation. The container is waterproof and can float in water. The container can also be made of a flame-resistant material. The container can emit a homing signal to facilitate the retrieval of the container in the event of an emergency situation. A container retrieval service can initiate a retrieval of the container in response to a determination that a disaster is likely to occur in the region where the container is located.

Abstract: The described embodiments relate to a sensor patch that can be temporarily removed and re-applied in the same location using a side element of the sensor patch. The side element can be folded onto the sensor patch when the sensor patch is adhered to an object such as an appendage of a person. The side element can be unfolded and adhered to the appendage in order to preserve the placement of the sensor patch on the appendage. In this way, maintenance such as cleaning can be performed on the area where the sensor patch is located without having to dispose of the sensor patch. Once maintenance is completed, the side element can be folded back onto a surface of the sensor patch until maintenance is to be performed again.

Abstract: A tie article has a substantially elongated configuration having opposed first and second longitudinal edges. The tie article includes a base layer, a cover layer, a closure device, an adhesive and an extension. The base layer includes a central segment and two arm segments, each of the arm segments extending from opposing sides of the central segment. The cover layer overlaps the base layer. The closure device is sandwiched between the base layer and the cover layer so that the base layer and cover layer are bonded together around the closure device. The adhesive is disposed on the central segment of the base layer. The extension is of either or both of the base layer and cover layer and extends beyond at least one of the first and second longitudinal edges. A method is described for attaching a second item to a first item with a tie article.

Abstract: A food storage bag may include a flexible substrate defining first and second opposing sidewalls, a closed bottom and an open top, and first and second wires extending along the first and second sidewalls of the flexible substrate. The first and second wires may each have a shape defining a series of peaks and troughs such that the opposing peaks and troughs may be twisted together to close the flexible substrate at different lengths along the first and second sidewalls.

Abstract: An adhesive clamp for reclosing a packaging bag, the adhesive clamp comprises a tape having one side of the tape coated with an adhesive substance and a clamping strip of foldable non-elastic material attached to the adhesive side of the tape and where the tape is wider and longer than the clamping strip.

Abstract: A tie article has a substantially elongated configuration having opposed first and second longitudinal edges. The tie article includes a base layer, a cover layer, a closure device, an adhesive and an extension. The base layer includes a central segment and two arm segments, each of the arm segments extending from opposing sides of the central segment. The cover layer overlaps the base layer. The closure device is sandwiched between the base layer and the cover layer so that the base layer and cover layer are bonded together around the closure device. The adhesive is disposed on the central segment of the base layer. The extension is of either or both of the base layer and cover layer and extends beyond at least one of the first and second longitudinal edges. A method is described for attaching a second item to a first item with a tie article.

Abstract: A bag machine for production of bags made of paper material includes an unwinding device to unwind and feed paper material in a transport direction (x), a device to produce weakening lines partially offset in direction (x), so that a first wall of the bag continues in at least one tab that extends beyond a second wall, a tube-forming device, in which side areas are folded to form an overlapping area, a separation device to separate tube sections along the weakening lines, and a bottom formation device, in which areas of a leading end of the tube section are folded and fastened onto an outer wall thereof. The machine has a device for application of adhesive surfaces to the paper material, with which an adhesive surface is applied to an area of the paper material that represents the side of the tab facing the second wall in the finished bag.

Abstract: An eversible sealable glove has front and rear panels, each panel having a cuff portion, a sleeve portion, a hand portion, and a perimeter. The perimeter of the front panel is completely sealed to the perimeter of the rear panel. An opening is formed through the front panel between the cuff portion of the front panel and the sleeve portion of the front panel, and may be sealed by a zipping closure comprising a mating pair of female and male extrusions, wherein one of the extrusions is bonded to the cuff portion of the front panel and the other one of the extrusions is bonded to the sleeve portion of the front panel. The zipping closure is configured to allow the mating pair to seal the opening whether the glove is everted or noneverted. A method for manufacturing the glove is also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a unit assembly for storing and dispensing a film strip. The unit assembly includes a first and second panel each having a perimetrical edge; wherein the first and second panels are substantially opposed to each other; and at least one gusseted side panel disposed between at least a portion of the panels along a common side thereof, the gusseted side panel configured to facilitate access to at least one film strip which is stored in a perimetrically sealed, substantially planar cavity within the unit assembly.

Abstract: Resealable systems for consumer packaging, such as food packaging, are described herein. The system includes one or more anchor points and one or more cling coatings. The anchor points can be introduced into or onto the packaging material during manufacture, such as by co-extrusion. Alternatively, the anchor points can be affixed to the packaging material after manufacture, such as with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The cling coatings can be applied to the packaging material during or after manufacture. For example, the cling coatings can be spot coated or pattern coated onto the desired location. The cling coatings are selective, that is they do not attach to themselves but only attach to the anchor point. The cling coatings transfer little or no material over time resulting in more consistent performance over time than pressure sensitive adhesives.

Abstract: A reclosable bag (1) made of a paper-plastic laminate, having a rear side (8) and upper and lower heat-sealed edges (3, 4), comprises an external layer (5) made of paper and an inner polymeric lining film (7). A rear window (9) closed by the inner polymeric lining film (7) is formed in the external paper layer (5) on the rear side (8) of the bag (1). An easy open adhesive label (10) is permanently attached through a first portion (11) thereof on the external paper layer (5) of the upper edge (3) of the bag (1), and through a second portion (12) thereof releasably on the internal polymeric lining film (7) that closes the rear window (9).

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to flexible packages having an access control feature in the form of a strip of a malleable sheet material that can be used to form a dead fold to re-close an opened package and prevent spilling. The access control feature can also be used to keep the mouth of the package open for easier access when the contents of the package are being consumed. Exemplary embodiments operate in an intuitive manner and are easy to use. The access control feature provides a tactile cue to the user for properly closing the package, as well as visual assurance that the package has been closed.

Abstract: A container comprised of an inner bag having a chamber for holding an item and a top through which the item can be placed in the chamber; an odor containment section attached to the inner bag; an odor containment flap positioned inside of the inner bag and adapted to be folded over the item when the item is held in the chamber of the inner bag; and an outer bag that surrounds the inner bag and the odor containment section, with the top of the inner bag extending beyond a top of the outer bag. Generally, the container is used to contain or minimize the odors emitted by organic materials such as, food, plant matter, or feces.

Abstract: A waterproof bag forming an enclosure, and having an opening with a waterproof horizontal zipper closure mechanism sealingly attached therein. A rollable top portion of the enclosure can be rolled down to cover the opening and closure mechanism to reduce pressure exerted on the zipper during submersion, allowing the enclosure to safely reach greater depths while maintaining water resistance. Methods of constructing and using a waterproof bag are also disclosed.

Abstract: A package reclosing strip includes an adhesive layer that extends the full width of a flexible film strip. Formation of a dry edge on the strip, suitable for grasping by the user, is accomplished either by adhering a strip of material such as a dry tape or by the application of a liquid overcoating which chemically deadens the adhesive. The dry edge tape material is preferably made of mono-oriented polypropylene. The film strip is substantially transparent and includes graphics on the underside, beneath the adhesive coating. The graphics show through the film strip, providing visibility of the graphics from the outside.

Abstract: A non-self supporting containment bag used in conjunction with a dumpster container. The bag and liner each have a zipper, where the zippers are centered on the bag top, and in use, the bag top is usually inverted to access the interior of the bag.

Abstract: The invention relates to a packaging bag comprising at least one flap (24, 28) which is folded against one face of the bag body (10) and which is held in position by means of a removable linking element (30, 32). The invention is characterized in that the bag also comprises an element (50) which is designed to ensure that the bag can be opened and reclosed, which extends transversely to the fold line (22) of the flap and which covers the entire width of said flap (24, 28) and at least a substantial part of the bag body.

Abstract: A drainable ostomy pouch includes a collection portion and a drain chute extending from the collection portion having a discharge opening for permitting emptying of contents from the pouch. The drain chute is foldable between an open condition in which the drain chute is extended from the collection portion, and a closed condition in which the drain chute is folded towards the collection portion; and a pocket for receiving at least a portion of the drain chute when the drain chute is in its closed condition.

Abstract: A bag construction filled with dispersible material. The bag construction has first and second panel sections, first and second side gusset sections and a bottom gusset panel section. The various panel sections are fastened together to form a generally rectangle shape with a flat bottom. The bottom gusset panel section has one or more distribution apertures in it. A removable panel layer is provided for covering the one or more apertures. When the removable panel layer is removed, the bag can be held so that the dispersible material disperses through the apertures as appropriate.

Abstract: A system for sealably closing a reservoir is disclosed. The system can have a container and a slider. The container can have an orifice and catches and lips surrounding the orifice. The slider can be translatably attached to the container over the orifice. The slider can slidably engage the catch and lips to force the orifice closed. While attached to the catch and lips, the slider can create a pressurized seal of the orifice.

Abstract: A bag structure includes, in an example embodiment, a bag body including side walls having inner and outer surfaces, and the bag body further includes a top end and a bottom end. A closure member is coupled to the top end for opening and closing the bag body. A sealing material is applied to an area proximate at least one of a top edge of the side walls and a bottom edge of a portion of the closure member. An adhesive member is secured to the bag body. The adhesive member includes a reinforced section and an adhesive section. The adhesive member is configured to retain the top end of the bag body in a folded over relationship until the adhesive member is severed along the reinforced section.

Abstract: An optical circuit includes a selector that supplies an output current from a first photodetector to a converter provided for a second photodetector, and a processor that imaginarily calculates the level of signal light output from an optical device, which is detected by the second photodetector, based upon the level of signal light input to the optical device, which is measured by measurement means, and upon conversion efficiencies of the first and second photodetectors and that thus calculates the correlation between the output signal light level and its monitored value output from the converter provided for the second photodetector.

Abstract: Bags for granular material with a closure on top of the bag and a vertical handle on the lower end of the bag and having suitable dimensions, static coefficient of friction, creep resistance and containing granular materials of limited flow properties can be vertically stacked without support, for example on a pallet. One such suitable granular material is cat litter.

Abstract: A roller action wrapping bag that can be wrapped and unwrapped around itself with a roller action for keeping the edible or non edible dry and moist contents intact therein for their unique physical and chemical properties until they are consumed or used within a reasonable length of time. The roller action wrapping bag has a galvanized steel wire or a set of wires of other bendable material, with a gauge that can retain its position when it is bended, rolled or twisted along with the soft material of the bag, concealed vertically at the back of the bag and preferably in the middle and necessarily from the top edge of the bag.

The wash bag is rectangular-shaped and is of rollable, waterproof, washable material, It has an upper zippered opening for receipt and holding a pair of boots, a plurality of outer snaps, and, a loop for hanging the bag. The outer container, also rectangular, is of rollable, waterproof, washable material. The container has an envelope-shaped closing flap for receipt and containment of the boots-containing bag, a strap, depending from the flap with a clip thereon, a strap depending from the container with a mating clip, internal snaps for mating with the bag snaps to hold the bag in place within the container, and, a loop for hanging the container.

Abstract: A pinch bottom open mouth bulk material bag fabricated from polywoven material has closures at one or both ends that are non-sewn and which comprise a strip of tape running in the cross-bag direction. The tape is folded over the respective bag end, which may be modified, and is glued in place to close the end. The closure has no holes or other openings through which contaminants may enter the bag interior.

The panels are foldable about a vertically variable horizontal axis to close the bag such that by varying the vertical elevation of the fold, one varies the volumetric area of the bag. Abstract: A resealable package with a tamper-evident structure and methods for making the same are disclosed. The resealable package includes a front panel joined at respective opposite side edges to a rear panel to form a package having an exterior; a reclosable fastener assembly joined to the exterior of the package and including a first fastening member and a second fastening member respectively joined to the rear panel and the front panel, so that at least one marginal portion of the rear panel can be folded over in the direction of said front panel and the first fastening member can be releasably connected to the second fastening member; and a tamper-evident structure joined to the front panel and a folded over marginal portion of the rear panel.

The process represents a home version of the commercial wet-cleaning processes for cleaning of delicate garments. The product may comprise a liquid cleaning composition, a wash pretreatment composition, a wash pretreatment applicator, an apparatus for dispensing a rinse cycle conditioner and a flexible wrap container within which the garments are contained during washing.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses an infusion bag 18 having means for selectively inserting any desired dry beverage material 16. The disposable infusion bag 18 has spaced apart reinforced elements 20 fixedly attached to the bag material with a string 22 passing through the elements in predetermined positions whereby pressure applied to the distal ends of the string causes the top corners 30 to fold forward engaging the bag whereupon the remaining triangular center element folds over covering the previously folded corners preventing any of the inserted material from escaping. The bag 18 may be reusable by unfolding the bag, discarding the used contents, replacing with fresh material and refolding the bag.

Abstract: An emesis waste disposal system with both an outer bag and an inner bag. The inner bag is releasably attached within an inside of the outer bag, and disposed in a ready, open position within the outer bag. Advantageously an edge of the inner bag is folded out over a lip of the outer bag, to receive waste into the inner bag without soiling the outer bag. Optionally, the inner bag is releasably attached within an inside of the outer bag with a removable fastener such as a tin tie, hook and loop pile, or snap set.

Abstract: A bag having a reclosable sealer and methods of forming and using the same are provided. The bag, for example, can include a tube body having a plurality of laminated layers. A reclosable sealer can be attached to a first wall of the tube body. When the bag is in an open bag position, a first portion of the reclosable sealer is separated from a second portion of the reclosable sealer. When the reclosable sealer is in the closed seal position, the first portion of the reclosable sealer contacts the second portion of the reclosable sealer forming a seal to thereby allow the bag to be readily opened and closed. Peripheral portions of the bag can remain unsealed after initial opening when the reclosable sealer is in the closed seal position to indicate that initial opening has occurred and that tampering with the bag may have occurred.

Abstract: A product and process for laundering delicate or dry-clean only garments in a conventional home washing machine. The process represents a home version of the commercial wet-cleaning processes for cleaning of delicate garments. The product may comprise a liquid cleaning composition, a wash pretreatment composition, a wash pretreatment applicator, an apparatus for dispensing a rinse cycle conditioner and a flexible wrap container within which the garments are contained during washing.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a recloseable bag having a front and rear faces. One or more bendable shape-retaining flat T-shaped spines are stamped and bonded to a face of the bag. In one embodiment, the T-shaped spines are formed of a bendable plastic shape-retaining polymer material. In a second embodiment, the T-shaped spines are formed of resilient plastic having a shape-retaining strand such as wire embedded centrally therein. An installation machine is also disclosed for formation of and heat- or adhesive-application of the flat T-shaped spines to the recloseable self-sealing bag material either prior to or during the filling and sealing process. The present invention's design is simple and straightforward, highly effective, and can be economically manufactured.

The bag includes a reclosable fastener assembly joined to the exterior of the bag, with the fastener assembly including cooperating, first and second fastener elements. Abstract: A plastic motion sickness receptacle is disclosed having a seamless perimeter defined by a tubular member folded at a first closed end, and an open end including means for closing the receptacle after use. The plastic tubular member comprises integrally formed walls that terminate in a base at said closed end with the edges of the walls cooperating to form a fluid-tight relationship. An outer surface of the receptacle includes indicia printed thereon including instructions for using the bag upon the occurrence of motion sickness.

Abstract: A bag having a reclosable sealer and methods of forming and using the same are provided. The bag, for example, can include a tube body having a plurality of laminated layers. A reclosable sealer can be attached to a first wall of the tube body. When the bag is in an open bag position, a first portion of the reclosable sealer is separated from a second portion of the reclosable sealer. When the reclosable sealer is in the closed seal position, the first portion of the reclosable sealer contacts the second portion of the reclosable sealer forming a seal to thereby allow the bag to be readily opened and closed. Peripheral portions of the bag can remain unsealed after initial opening when the reclosable sealer is in the closed seal position to indicate that initial opening has occurred and that tampering with the bag may have occurred.

Abstract: A vertical stand-up pouch or flexible package having an integrated reclose strip, and method for manufacturing same, constructed by modification to existing vertical form and fill packaging machines. The modified machine includes a crease-forming mechanism and an apparatus for applying a reclose strip to the sheet of material. The apparatus for applying a reclose strip is incorporated into the mechanism which supplies the continuous sheet of packaging material to the vertical form, fill, and seal machine. The invention involves producing a vertical stand-up pouch having an integrated reclose strip from a single sheet of packaging film by creating a vertical crease along one edge of a packaging film tube prior to forming a transverse seal on the tube. Said vertical crease is formed using a stationary tucker bar positioned outside the packaging film tube and between two forming plates positioned inside the packaging film tube.

Abstract: A drainable ostomy pouch has an outlet. Reinforcing members at the outlet are deformable by application of manual pressure at their ends to distend the outlet. The lateral edges of the reinforcing members may be offset, which encourages the reinforcing members to consistently bend away from each other. A peelable distributed mechanical engagement fastener secures the outlet in a folded condition. The fastener parts are hook-hook type plastic extrusions, and provide a snap-engagement. A security flap is foldable under the outlet when in its folded condition. The outlet is released in two stages.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for resealing bags comprises affixing a malleable strip along a vertical axis of a bag such that, when the bag is rolled, the malleable strip retains its shape to hold the bag closed. In one embodiment, the malleable strip comprises a metallic material. In an alternative embodiment, a self-adhesive is affixed to one side of the malleable strip. In an alternative embodiment, the malleable strip is affixed into a vertical spine of the bag.

Abstract: A bag closure system for automatically closing a bag with audible and tactile feedback to indicate proper closure of the bag. The bag closure system includes a bag device having an opening, a first band positioned within a first lip of the opening, and a second band positioned within a second lip of the opening. The first band and second band are comprised of a resilient elongate material that audibly and tactilely indicate when the opening is opened or closed. The first band and the second band further provide for automatic closure of the opening to prevent loss of items within the bag device. The first band and the second band are preferably comprised of a resilient material having an arcuate cross section providing rigidity to the bands when in a straight condition.

Abstract: A gusseted bag of disposable packaging material has a roll-top closure comprising two releasably engageable fastener components. Each fastener component comprises a plastic base layer carrying either hook or loop elements. In some cases, one component is secured to one face of a rollable top of the bag, and the other component is carried on a flexible flap secured to a lower portion of an opposite face of the bag. In another embodiment, one fastener component extends in a strip from an upper edge of the bag down one face of the bag, and the other fastener component extends in a strip from an upper edge of the bag down an opposite face, such that when the top of the bag is folded downward, one fastener component will engage the other fastener component to hold the top closed.
