  • Patent number: 9022662
Abstract: A retainer of synthetic resin is provided in such a way that abnormal heat generation in a bearing and wear of the retainer due to interference between the retainer and balls are less likely to arise while the bearing is rotating at a high speed. A retainer (5) of synthetic resin includes two annular members (10) made of synthetic resin and facing each other in the axial direction, the annular members defining therebetween a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart pockets (11) in which respective balls (4) are received. Concave spherical surfaces (23) are formed at the circumferential ends of the respective pockets (11) so as to extend along the outer peripheries of the balls (4), and cylindrical surfaces (22) are formed at the axial ends of the respective pockets (11).

  • Patent number: 9022661
Abstract: A guide piece projects from an outside surface of a cage bar of a cage so as to make sliding contact with a raceway surface of an outer ring. As the cage rotates, the guide piece operates to guide the rotation of the cage while removing an excess grease on the raceway surface and transferring the excess grease to axially opposite ends of the outer ring. The guide piece is formed with a through-hole extending from an inner periphery of the cage to an edge of the guide piece for supplying the lubricant from the inner periphery side of the cage to the raceway surface.

  • Patent number: 8998498
Abstract: A tapered roller bearing improves durability during a state of insufficient lubrication by sufficiently lengthening the time until rotation becomes impossible due to seizure. Oil retaining concave sections, recessed outward in the radial direction, are formed in portions on the inner circumferential surface of a large-diameter rim section of the retainer whose phase in the circumferential direction coincides with the pockets. A portion of the bottom surface of each of the oil retaining concave sections, open to the inside surface of the pocket, face a concave section formed in an end surface on the large-diameter side of tapered roller that is held inside the pocket. When lubrication becomes insufficient, oil remaining in the concave sections is effectively used for lubricating areas of sliding contact between the end surfaces on the large-diameter side and the inside surface in the axial direction of a large-diameter side flange section.

Abstract: A rolling bearing includes inner and outer races rotatable relative to each other, a plurality of rolling elements interposed between the inner and outer races, and a retainer arranged between the inner and outer races for retaining the plurality of rolling elements equiangularly. Flange portions are formed on a radially inner side and a radially outer side of an axial end portion of the retainer so as to extend radially. Recessed grooves are formed in a region of the inner race and a region of the outer race corresponding to the respective flange portions so as to form labyrinths together with the flange portions. Inner side surfaces of the flange portions and axial end surfaces of the recessed grooves, which are opposed to the inner side surfaces of the flange portions, are inclined radially so as to generate a flow of lubricant.

Abstract: Dynamically-lubricated bearings and methods of dynamically lubricating bearings, including bearings used in gas turbine engines. Such a bearing includes an inner race having an inner race groove, an outer race having an outer race groove that opposes the inner race groove, rolling elements disposed between the inner and outer races and in rolling contact with the inner and outer race grooves, and a cage disposed between the inner and outer races to maintain separation between the rolling elements. A lubricant is introduced into a cavity between the inner and outer races, and rotation of the inner race relative to the outer race causes air to enter pockets of the cage that contain the rolling elements, which in turn causes the lubricant to exit the cavity of the bearing.

Their inner rings are mounted on the shaft, and the outer rings are installed in the body. Roller bodies are placed between the rings. If a cogged cage is used, they are separated by the cage teeth. The tubular support of the cage slides along the rigidly fastened cylindrical rod. Oil is supplied under pressure to the passage of the cylindrical rod. The roller bearings receive loads transferred to them from the shaft, and the support sliding over the rod form together a friction bearing which compensates for the harmful impacts of the centrifugal forces on the cage.
