  • Patent number: 9394254
Abstract: This invention provides a family of compounds that inhibit Class II fructose 1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FBA), which is implicated in the pathogenic activity of a broad range of bacterial and parasitic agents. The compounds were identified by empirical testing, and provide a basis for further derivatization and optimization of 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carboxylic acid and related compounds. Crystal structure shows that the compounds don't bind directly to the catalytic site of the enzyme, and so are not defined simply as substrate analogs. Instead, they create a pocket by induced fit, resulting a powerful and specific inhibitory effect on FBA activity.

Abstract: A self-aligning miniature ball bearing assembly is disclosed for being pressed into an opening formed in a substrate such as a sheet, a pillar block, a mounting flange, or a shaft. In one embodiment, the assembly is self-clinching when pressed into the opening and in an alternate embodiment the assembly is press-fittable into the opening and held with a friction fit. The miniature ball bearing of the assembly is mounted within a retainer and held against an angled bearing seat by a elastomeric compression ring. Abstract: In a support structure supporting a shaft of a helical gear, a shaft of a speed increase for a wind power generator with a helical gear, or a vertical shaft by a double row rolling element, the double row rolling bearing is so formed that load capacities on the bearing in the right and left rows are different from each other so that the load capacity on the bearing in the row where the rolling bearing receives a large axial load can be increased.

Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a sealing assembly may include a first member, a second member, and a circumferentially extending seal. The first member may include an angularly disposed running surface. The second member may be rotatable relative to the first member about an axis of rotation. The circumferentially extending seal may be coupled to the second member. The seal may include a lip having a first end fixed to the second member and a second end being generally free. The first end may form a hinge generally providing for radially outward movement of the second end relative to the axis of rotation upon rotation of said second member. The second end may be biased against the running surface.

  • Patent number: 7293920
Abstract: A self-aligning bearing assembly is disclosed which is capable of reacting both radial and axial loads. An inner bearing race is connected to a rotatable shaft that is subjected to such loads. An outer bearing race is installed within a housing and is capable of movement in multiple directions with respect to the housing. The outer bearing race can rotate in planes corresponding to longitudinal sections of the outer race, i.e., rotational displacement. In addition, the outer bearing race can translate with respect to an inner wall of the housing in an axial direction of the housing, i.e., axial displacement. Such movement is enabled by the use of radially displaceable thrust rings which contact the outer bearing race, and control of the geometry of the outer bearing race and inner wall of the housing.

  • Patent number: 7249893
Abstract: A rolling bearing and a rod end bearing are provided with a tilt mechanism and a rotary mechanism that are mutually independent. The tilt mechanism has a non-lubricated type spherical sliding bearing structure. The rotary mechanism has a rolling bearing structure which may or may not be sealed. By means of the non-lubricated type spherical sliding bearing structure, a tilt of the shaft center is made possible, and by means of a sealed rolling bearing structure, problems such as a lubrication oil leak are avoided, and carrying out high speed rotation and continuous rotation become possible. Because the sealed rolling bearing structure of the rotary mechanism does not call for a shaft center tilt function at all, the material of the seal can be chosen such that it emphasizes sliding resistance and high durability.
