Resilient Support Member Patents (Class 384/535)
  • Patent number: 12104651
Abstract: A tolerance ring includes a ring body having a spring property, an abutment joint portion formed between circumferential end edges of the ring body, and protrusions protruding radially from the ring body, each having a reaction force due to radial rigidity. The tolerance ring includes an abutment joint semi-circumferential region and an opposing semi-circumferential region facing the abutment joint portion. The tolerance ring includes first and second X-direction semi-circumferential regions separated by a straight line connecting the abutment joint and opposing portions. The Y-direction passes through the axis center of the ring body and the abutment joint, and the X-direction is orthogonal to the Y-direction. The sum of the X-direction components of the reaction force vector in the first X-direction semi-circumferential region is the same or smaller than the sum of the Y-direction components of the reaction force vector in the abutment joint semi-circumferential region.

  • Patent number: 9890810
Abstract: A squeeze film damper includes a bearing housing as an inner ring disposed around a radially outer side of a bearing which rotatably supports a rotary shaft, an outer ring disposed around a radially outer side of the bearing housing, a squeeze film formed by circulating a viscous fluid through a clearance in a radial direction between the bearing housing and the outer ring, and a coupling pin which couples the bearing housing and the outer ring to each other and is deformable in response to relative displacement in the radial direction between the outer ring and the bearing housing. The coupling pin has stiffness that is higher in a vertical direction than in a horizontal direction in a cross section perpendicular to an axial direction of the rotary shaft.

  • Patent number: 9759256
Abstract: A pump insert (50) for supporting a rotor (14) of a pump comprises an annular resilient support (52) for engaging the body (26) of the pump, the support (52) extending about a rolling bearing (10) having an inner race (12) for engaging the rotor (14), an axially preloaded outer race (16) fixed to the support (52), and a plurality of rolling elements (18) located between the races. During assembly, the rolling bearing (10) can be accurately positioned within the support (52) so that there is a very low tolerance stack-up when the insert (50) is fitted to the rotor (14). Consequently, the position of the rotor (14) will hardly change, if at all, when the rolling bearing (10) is replaced during servicing of the pump.
